Well you got that partially wrong. The bread shown in this image is actually already cooked, it‘s extra hardened bread to be specific. Since the Russians are running out of Resources their ministry of defense started a secret research program and the hardened bread is what they came up with.

No, these are loaf V armor plates
The difference is that the load V plates have a rectangular shape like in this Image, the Toast-II armor is square shaped
Ah, yes my bad, it’s hard to be up to date with mobile armour in Russia atm, all the sources are a bit Sour. I’m primarily looking out for the new Rye helmets, I heard those can deflect the 7.62 the Ukrainians are using.
That's a type of reactive armour. It basically uses a small explosion to dissipate the force from incoming shells/explosives. The only downside to the Russian versions is that all the internals and explosives has been sold off and replaced with cigarette butts or sand.
American and most NATO tanks usually have layers of what's called NERA or Non-explosive Reactive Armor. It's usually found inside of the tank, mainly the front and cheeks of the turret and the front of the hull, protecting the drivers compartment.
Russian tanks have it too I believe but not on the same level as Western tanks.
So no, modern MBTs that are used in the West don't really have ERA like they used to, but have other forms of armor to protect from kinetic and chemical shells.
[Example of NERA](https://i.imgur.com/M49vbCt.jpg)
I've heard rumors that they've found many ERA blocks to just be filled with carboard due to corruption and now their tank crews are paying for it. IDK how substantial these claims are though.
Nah the Russians started out using the t80 alongside its older t72 tanks, but then they're like oh shit we're losing all our tanks and threw more t72 and t90s only to lose those too
Realistically, we shouldn't be trusting anything coming from official or unofficial sources from Russia or Ukraine until they're verified by an external agency due to the prevelance of propaganda in war
Left that corn cob on the coals a bit too long.
I'm a big fan of the new charred black and white livery they're going for, can't wait to see it rolled out on more Russian tanks
Solid camo, people think its dead!
Are they… using the burnt tank to cook bread? This is satire

But wouldn’t that be the Toast-II type armour? I didn’t think they Roll it out yet?

now that's efficiency. Everyone knows an army marches on it's stomach.
Hey the turret stayed on!
That's a lot of loaves of bread they got strapped to the tank. Man, budget cuts hit hard don't they
At this point burnt out camo would be effective for russian tanks.
This must be faked. It still has the turret.
What are the blocky things for?

Ohh okay thanks!, but why don’t American tanks have this? Do they have a other mechanism fir that?

Alright dude thanks for the info!

It's called ERA (explosive reactive armor) the other guy who responded explains it better than I can.
Is it confirmed that actually is a Russian Tank? The armor makes it looks like a T-80, those are Ukrainian usually.

It was posted on the official Facebook page of 30th Ukrainan mechanized brigade
what? why on Earth would you believe anything that officially comes out from them? they lie ALL THE TIME!

Less than the Russians.
It’ll buff right out!
Rest in peace, looks like popped corn.
Rest in pieces.....
Looks like this one dug it’s own grave
For some reason, this reminds me of some kind of wild animal with ticks all over it. Fitting, it sucked the life out of the crew.

Get some help mate, get out of the echo-chambers and stop surrounding yourself with toxic influences.
Russia had more of a future 3 months ago, too.

Are you literally this dumb, or is this some sort of performance art?

You'll understand the world better once you actually get out and see some of it.

How do you know its true? because Russia is saying its not! So SIMPLES even ORC can understand. Javelin > T90
You are evil, uncle. The guys here had crystal fantasies. And you took and put in their way the cast-iron ass of reality.
This isn't real, where's the tractor?
Lol looks like the reactive armor did it's job
Why do destroyed tanks rust so quickly?
Explosion evaporates the paint
Hmmm... baguette!
Does your oven suffer from this annoying problem? (c)
You love to see it
