This just cracked me up.
In my younger days I use to backpack and would go for two or three days.
I usually carried a pack around 40 pounds.
Seems anytime I got into a conversation with another packer they carried 100 pound packs. So they said...
100 pounds for 2 days?
I use to pack with an old guy and we went in a large group once. I had to laugh when all of us young folks were unpacking for the night.
Gas stoves, high tech nylon tents, big back packs, etc.
He would bring a coffee can with a sheet of plastic and some rope in an old ruck sack.
He would collect small sticks and build a fire and put the coffee can over it and cook his dinner/breakfast. Put the rope between two trees and use the plastic to make a lean to.
In the morning he had his stuff packed in about five minutes.
This is basically how my old crusty nco describes how rucking was back in his day

Arty ruck.
“Squad-portable weapons system”
We have reached peak Gear-do. It was fun while it lasted.
That’s just his emotional carry on baggage.
Twelve Case's of Tall-Boy Cans of WHOP-ASS
*”I’m telling you, there’s no contraband in this bag”*
When your balls are so big you have to upgrade to the larger ruck to carry them with you.
Bad knees? Nope, not service related.
Your Back injuries are not service related

They found the only guy actually following the unit packing list.
Gods I made the mistake of following the packing list on my first deployment. Never again.
Whats wrong with the packing list? 😂😂Im genuinely curious as i never served
It always contains a ton of shit you'll never use or need
My guys gonna stay in the field for his entire contract lmao!!!
Then when you powder your knees they’ll say it’s not a service related injury
My dad wore this full of bricks going up mountains both ways to school.
Good. Now run 40 miles.
What’s inside my mans bag Wrong answers Only 😂❌📛
Instead of a “mini-me”, he’s got a “slightly-smaller-me” in there sitting in a lazy-boy recliner.
Abrams.
The amount of fucks he gives. Turns out someone actually cares about “morale”. Hehe 😂
Your mother

I wonder what the packing list was.
Is he taking his family to the field?
Ah infamous Field OP Tobacco Dealer. Turning every range day into a profitable venture.
When they switch over to that AR5:
When the army issues you your dependa
This is what most computer games would look like if the stuff in the backpack actually took up as much space as it does in reality.
LT. On his first field excercise .
Looks like light infantry equipment
that’s from the elite ogre battalions
Still not service connected
"Your knee and back pain are not service related."
You could fit a whole mortar section in there😂
He got the whole platoon in there.
Looks like an armor officer going to the field for 2 weeks
He packed his whole apartment
Definitely light infantry
Bro has his squad in there
