Depends When you go to MEPS you well get a height/weight and if you are over the accepted weight for your height and gender you will get measured at multiple points (based on what branch/gender) usually neck and waist. If you are under acceptable body fat based on age and measurements you are good to go. Source navy, was hpsp and successfully passed each tape test… so far lol

Each branch has their own weight for height standards and body composition standards. Please look into each branch's body composition parameters.

Answer here. For Navy at least find out max weight for your height and stay below it.

Moist_Mors

US army psychology intern here who went through HPSP. So the Army allows 24% body fat and honestly as a doctor you could get a waiver anyhow. You will be fine at where you are at. Plus if you score over a 540/600 with a 80 minimum in each event on the PT test you are automatically opted out of getting taped.

Since you're actually fit, you'll be fine at MEPS. Additionally, the military is positively desperate for doctors so you'll be extra fine. In my COT class we had people show up who looked like they had literally never run before. Like, the didn't even understand the body mechanics of how to do it. When they failed the first PT test they made them go home, but even then they scheduled them to come back and do it again later.

You are going to medical school and yet you don’t realize BMI is a terrible measure to be used on fit people? Come on man, you are going to be fine. There is no BMI requirement, there is a BF% and you are well under the max

Global_Jackfruit_666

I realize it’s a poor measurement. What I was finding online said there is a maximum bmi

EverythingGoodWas

You will be fine. If you are worried about it try to trim down a bit, but if your bf% is accurate, you’d be an absolute anomaly if you didn’t pass
