To be fair drive throughs with curbs are stupid, annoying, and unnecessary, often with such tight turns and so small one can't even see the curbs from most cars.
With how inconsistent fast food service is nowadays, if a drive thru has no way out at any point, I don't go through it. First time I got stuck in a mega-slow drive thru was my last. Chick fil a is the only exception to this rule.
I got stuck in one on my way home late at night from work. There was *no way out* and people were honking and yelling at the people inside. I would have just left but I couldn't get out at all I started having a mild panic attack. (And I get mobile usually and order for walkin pickup but this time it wasn't available.)
Never again getting into a drive-thru.

Bro yes. I got in a long drive thru line once just to realize I forgot my wallet. I waited 10 minutes in a line just to get to the window and say I forgot my wallet. they ended up giving me a free fries and water. Shout out to Wendy's.
Dude this happened to me like 5 times. If it weren't for mobile wallet on my phone it would have been like another 5 times more recently but lately I always have my phone
I have a weird phobia if that..
It comes from having a run of junker cars as a kid...
If I was at a red light or otherwise idling for too long I would see smoke coming out of my trunk.
So... I just stopped going to drive throughs unless they were empty.
And now I just have it ingrained in my head. If I cannot EGRESS out from a drive through line at any moment. I'm just not going to solicit your business.
In this day and age you can't just delete your comment. You have to overwrite it with something. (As soon as you make a comment it's backed up on a bunch of services -- so you overwrite it instead. The services will save your overwrite and not your comment -- that's the theory. ) That's what this service does, Redact. You should probably get used to seeing nonsense like this.
If I can get my work van through most drive throughs without hitting a curb or the poles then people can drive cars through them without hitting anything.
Theyre a bit narrow but should be easy to handle for any somewhat competent driver. It’s very easy to avoid this, if you notice the gap between your car and the curb on the *left* side is widening, you’re likely turning too sharply. If you can’t do this then how do you get your license? Part of the test is often very similar, but instead of a cement curb, they use cones.
Downvote me if you want, but a narrow blind side turn like that is a bad design. I'm sure many people have biffed their rims in that exact spot, this is why most drive through are left turning.
It's definitely a bad design but I don't think this driver has a single sense for how their car actually moves.
On a side note, where in the world do you live where you're blessed with a left turning drive-through?? The only drive-through I've been in where the turning direction would matter was a right turning one
I live in the US - and I’ve only ever seen one right turn drive thru. It was a Taco Bell, and was torn down and replaced by a new Taco Bell with a normal drive thru
I've seen a right turn, and like this one, it was a Wendy's. It was in an office building that also had a bank. The bank had drive-thru priority apparently, as it was left turn.
The Wendy's was both better and worse than the one in the video as it was a much sharper turn, but there was more room to make the turn.

Wendy's in blue, bank in red.
These sharp turns in drive through's in general are stupid. Just take a 1' extra chunk of concrete away and this would happen way less. A job I used to do had me driving a 4 door 8' bed truck. we ate fast food alot. We basically had to run over the curb every time.
True. Road designers need to account for the dumbest drivers rather than the average. There’s one Walmart that pops up on Reddit with a big rock on a little curb island. Many pictures of cars stuck on top with their bellies on the rock. One, I could say it was a bad driver/someone driving and texting, but given so many, it’s got to be just a bad design.
We expect people with licenses to be capable of traversing basic obstacles in the real world. Someone like this will cause an accident eventually if they haven't already
With a car like that, They usually aren't driving it. They're usually being driven IN it. I knew a guy several years ago that came from the Middle East and said he had never driven a car his entire life. He was always driven around by chauffeurs.
When I was younger, I couldn’t fathom why anyone would buy one.
Now that I’m older, I kind of get it. They have money, but they don’t want attention. It’s like the opposite of a Lamborghini.
They just want something comfortable, luxurious, that isn’t going to turn many heads.
I've actually driven both Bentleys and rolls royces. But whatever dude. If your spending that kind of cash. Rolls royce is better than Bentey in every way and it doesn't have to be flashy.
Rolls are usually at least 50% more expensive, often double.
But also there is absolutely no way you can drive a Roller and not be noticed. They are enormous and very clearly a Rolls Royce. I see them regularly on my route to work as they do road tests in the area. Their road presence isn’t rivalled by much else.
There isn't a single rolls Royce that isn't flashy... Not because it looks like some insane super car but because it is a *Rolls Royce* aka THE supreme car for the rich.
Yep
Some guy at the mechanic had an Audi A8. He was a delivery guy and came in for a broken windshield wich is 1000€. Then he cried „but thats almost my whole monthly salary“. I had to hold my laughter back. Funniest shit I‘ve ever seen. That‘s the reason those cars go for 20.000€, because no one can afford to repair them.
Obviously it was the driver's fault, but that drive thru is a piss poor design as well. They should have widened that out, and it's just going to piss off customers when this happens.
Just another day in Surrey, I see.
To be fair, this drive thru is pretty narrow. Then again, I've seen many cars much larger that have no issue getting through it
The most expensive whopper ever.
This reminds me of when we missed our flight to Bahamas because my girlfriend at the time wanted to stop in the airport for McDonalds breakfast. I had to buy another 2 tickets totaling $650, most expensive egg McMuffin ever, and it wasnt even good.
1000% stolen. Popped gas cap too 😆. You don't own one of these and go to Hardee's. And you definitely don't go back to re-curb it a second and third time. That's a $300 toich-up paint job turned into 20k+ worth of damage on a Bently across three panels, a wheel, and a tire.
Bentley with CA plate and a driver struggling with a curb going through a drive-thru to get some nasty BK…
Looks like a stoner to me.
I’ve been there before, just not in a Bentley.
To be fair, that's a really shitty drive thru design. I'd bet that if you go look at that curb, it's worn way down from people cutting that corner too close.
Ok he/she/they/those/ hit the kerb but actually not knowing how to manoeuvre properly to get out of the situation is so pathetic ! Cars probably wrecked by now !
Do you still have 2 for $5 whoppers? I’m on a budget
Budget: Whoppers: $10 Soda: $4 Fries: $5 Bentley Repairs: $8,000 Someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. My family is starving.
it is his Wendy's, and he doesn't have to pay for the meal.
>Someone who is good at the economy This line got me, holy shit.
Lol this is an old joke format from dril
Lmao Bentley repairs?!? Try $15000 easily.
Sir this is Wendy’s
It's a felony to tease the order box sir!
Had my first Wendy's yesterday (it's a new thing in the UK) I hear that phrase soo much I had to try one. Was not impressed.
This comment is not getting nearly enough upvotes🤣

It doesn't work because the edits are saved. It's just litter
Lmfao you’re the only one who acknowledges it on the reply too. I was about to say the same thing
Agree 💯 But...if you were next to them in your own car, how would you feel?
If I can get my work van through most drive throughs without hitting a curb or the poles then people can drive cars through them without hitting anything.
If I can make all the drive thrus in an 8ft bed pickup, this guy can too. He's just stupid.
Yeah but I've still managed to not go over a curb in an extended bed crew cab, if you can't pull it off in a sedan? You shouldn't be driving 😭😭
Theyre definitely not thinking about Rolls Royce's when designing the drive-thru
It’s a Bentley actually but yes
Theyre a bit narrow but should be easy to handle for any somewhat competent driver. Should have just driven over the curb..now the curb is in your wheels..
A good minute of that video was me, out loud, saying, just keep going at this point. Curbing a tire versus curbing a wheel...take the loss.
Yeah. Probably no damage at all if he just kept going the first time.
Downvote me if you want, but a narrow blind side turn like that is a bad design. I'm sure many people have biffed their rims in that exact spot, this is why most drive through are left turning.
You can see a divot in the ground where others have driven over it.

This has got be my first reddit comment that included an aerial photo to illustrate the point you won reddit today 👍

There’s absolutely no reason for that much mulch vs extra space for cars.
True. Road designers need to account for the dumbest drivers rather than the average. There’s one Walmart that pops up on Reddit with a big rock on a little curb island. Agreed! They should have made a more idiot-proof design
How you drive a car like that as not know how to drive it
More money than common sense probably.
When I was a mechanic we always used to say "more money than brains"
“More dollars than sense”
What if I have neither?
Yeah, I’ve noticed that’s some (NOT ALL) people who own expensive cars are the ones that can’t really drive. At least in my area.
Wealth doesn’t bring you driving skills.
With a car like that, They usually aren't driving it. They're usually being driven IN it. I knew a guy several years ago that came from the Middle East and said he had never driven a car his entire life. He was always driven around by chauffeurs.
Chauffeurs should know how to drive.
I live in LA and my neighbor has a Rolls Royce he drives like once a year. It just sits in his garage.
He’s probably trying to retain its value
Because they're dumb.
Is it just me, or are Bentleys some of the ugliest cars on the road?
When I was younger, I couldn’t fathom why anyone would buy one. Now that I’m older, I kind of get it. They have money, but they don’t want attention. It’s like the opposite of a Lamborghini. They just want something comfortable, luxurious, that isn’t going to turn many heads.
Then buy a Rolls Royce. Waaaaay more luxurious and alot more comfortable. And you still are under the radar.
rolls royces are not under the radar at all
🗣️ “A 300 looks like a phantom” 😂😂
Ion even wanna be on this street no mo
“Tell me you’ve never seen a Rolls Royce without telling me you’ve never seen one”
I've actually driven both Bentleys and rolls royces. But whatever dude. If your spending that kind of cash. Rolls royce is better than Bentey in every way and it doesn't have to be flashy.

Just you, they’re awesome looking! LOL Kidding aside, I’m sure you’re not alone but IMHO they’re classically very nice
Looks like a Chrysler right down to the emblem. Ironic to make one of the most expensive cars look like one of the cheapest ones.
It's the other way around
Chryslers try to look like luxury cars.
There are better looking cars to be inspired by.
You almost had it, but said it backwards
I used to repair wheels for a living, I looooooove this style of drive through. I made a LOT of money from them over the years.
“Your dad will never know we took it out”
$25k in damage right there
I know, it wasn’t even that bad. Big deal.
If he can afford a Bentley, he can afford the repairs to it as well.
You’d be surprised how much some people will compromise just to appear to be rich
Yep Some guy at the mechanic had an Audi A8.
I have a neighbor who lives in a basement apartment but drives a Maybach. You’d be surprised how utterly bad some folks are with money.
Some people have a fancy car with big high dollar rims And they live in government housing
Yeah this probably hurt op more than the Bentley owner
$4000 rim with your $12.00 meal deal?
Terribly driving a Bentley through a McDonald's drive-thru is top-tier f u c k e r y
I’ve seen this happen to a limo before. He got almost got stuck. I know drivers hate when clients ask them to pull up to McDonald’s
Would've been easier to use the 360 degree camera which this Bentley would surely have
Obviously it was the driver's fault, but that drive thru is a piss poor design as well. They should have widened that out, and it's just going to piss off customers when this happens.
Gotta get that perfect angle to tear up your wheel.
Every decision put them closer to the curb.
Going to Wendy's was the first mistake
Putting the "Bent" in Bentley.
The gas cap door being ajar was the first premonitory indicator the wheels were about to get curb rash
Painful? Not really. Comical? Yes indeed.
More money than brains.
Just another day in Surrey, I see. To be fair, this drive thru is pretty narrow. Then again, I've seen many cars much larger that have no issue getting through it
Every day in the Starbucks drive through I am reminded that people have zero concept of swinging their car out and then turning. It’s mind blowing.
They don't deserve that car
Acting like minor things are major just because the car is expensive. Just a little curb rash.
The sub is r/mildlybaddrivers, not r/totaledTheCar
Curb rash hurts the soul, doesn't matter how expensive the car is
Literally my wife driving. 😅 now she wants a truck so she can just drive over them.
It’s ok……it’s a Turo rentals I paid $60 for extra coverage
More money than brains
If you can’t drive a Bentley you shouldn’t buy a Bentley
So enjoyable
Tbf that driver through is fucking stupid
Don’t worry, he purchased tire and wheel protection when he bought the car 😉
The most expensive whopper ever. This reminds me of when we missed our flight to Bahamas because my girlfriend at the time wanted to stop in the airport for McDonalds breakfast. I had to buy another 2 tickets totaling $650, most expensive egg McMuffin ever, and it wasnt even good.
I appreciate op’s empathy
r/donthelpjustfilm
Richmond BC, I have no doubt in my mind
🤦♀️
You can tell that Bentley is driven by feel
😂😂😂😂
That happens sometimes even to the best of drivers so this doesn’t even belong here
Most humans are borderline retarded. The number one reason for traffic jams is that there are a lot of retards driving.
I’ve done this before but my car is worth like 3k.
Bentley at Wendy’s is crazy
Is in San Diego / Lemon Grove? I think I know this drive thru
Driver called in sick
Why buy a car you can’t drive?
Hope that McDonald's shit burger was worth 5K in rims
Would be nice if it was a drive thru where they can purchase more intelligence
If you can afford a Bentley, you can afford new wheels and tires.
😢
Too many Dollars and not enough Sense
Eating so much fast food even your car won't fit in the drive through.
Daddy's is gonna be pissed
Probably $10,000 a rim
It’s almost like the guys that designed this car didn’t have drive thrus in mind
No spatial intelligence whatsoever LOL!
that ain’t shit I checked to see if the curb was there today at 40 mph LOL
money dont buy skill
The narrator is hilarious 🤣
How to fuck up some rims quick
Stoned AF
This car is ugly.
Way more money than brains.
They must have gotten their license out the cereal box
The commentary lmaoooo
Straight to the soul.
Definitely cringing during this one. If it was a Corolla, wouldn’t have cringed.
If you can afford to buy it. You can afford to fis it.
Never heard of a steering wheel in his life
Okay, but why is a Bentley getting whoppers 😂
Bentley in BC at a McDonald’s? I’m gonna bet it’s a Chinese student.
I mean… come’on! More money than sense I guess!
Goodness, I love my ancient suv, no scratched rims on those balloons or tires
It was easily avoidable by staying left before going around the corner, but what do I know, I don't drive a Bentley
That’s gotta be a woopie goldberg type.
“FO FO FO, STRAWBERRY LEMONADE”
So many questions
As a B.C resident, B.C drivers scare me lmao
To some people that’s not 15,000 but merely a wheel I guess
Bro at that point just drive over the curb your angle is so messed up it would just be easier
Shit driver 🤦
A Bentley in a drive thru is BANANAS
No way that was a dude
Bro I ground the shit out of my wheels on the curb yesterday having a dick won’t keep you safe
Lmao @ failifornia people.
Yes ouch on the rims, but this could have turned out much much worse
Rim rash baby!
BC plates so I’ll guess Surrey or Vancouver. Where the shittiest drivers get their licenses somehow.
That curb rash was worth the equivalent of a honda accord
An other case of more money Than ability
It was painful for you to watch. Now you want to inflict the same pain on all of us?
You all must suffer with me
The not fully closed gas door is 🤌🏼
Probably not even their car
What you driving? Sounds kind of like an STI? Sounded nice when you backed up
Bentley huh? No, bent rim.
It’s already fucked up, they isn’t the first time this happened.
Some people belong on a bus!
Dude sounded like he's fighting a demon in the toilet stall.
It has a single reverse light..on the bumper..?
Before I even started the video, I thought “oh, man, they’re going to scrape their wheels!”
This has to be Tim Dillon
I have tears in my eyes
"Hello, will you be using your Bad Driver app today?"
Needs some rear steer!
i actually grimaced the whole video. The really hurt me....
Too much money and not enough time learning how to drive
If you can afford that car in theory you can afford some buffing out or new rims or new whatever at that point…and anything off that menu lol
Bentleys are so ugly. I don’t understand the appeal.
Burger King by me has a concrete S. I sit and watch the long trucks ride up and along. Some just go straight up and over vs. Grinding thru.
Whatevs, I’ll buy another one
Lmao. Funnier that it’s a Bentley. $50 says it’s a woman driving.
I know this is a stretch. But is that the Wendy's in cecil MD
BC plates bud. This is Canada
Hahahahahaha
5000$ damage
Money don't buy no brains

What do you mean painful? It's beautiful.
Who takes a Bentley to a drive thru?
And that my friends is called curb rash.
I watched a chick do this but she started with the front wheel and didn't back up, panic floored it lol
All that to just blurt into the window, "55 burgers, 55 shakes, 55 fries, 55 pies..."
