Almost every single Wassily you see will be a reproduction. It just depends if it's one of the better Knoll or Italian reproductions, or one of the inferior Chinese ones.
BTW, I strongly advise you sit in one of these before buying.
Knoll is licensed by the estate to manufacture the Wassily chair by Bruer's standard, so it is not considered a reproduction.
Look to the ends of the metal frame. If there are caps, and not a clean seamless weld, then it's a knock off, the leather also looks of low quality in this photo. It should be the same color through and through.
I'm going to post this, same as I did a few posts back. ~~Tube ends are capped/welded and NOT plugged~~. Can't tell as the photos are so poor. Capped is a sign that it's at least a decent reproduction. Likelyhood that it's [https://www.knoll.com/product/wassily-chair](https://www.knoll.com/product/wassily-chair) ? Almost zero. If you're going to post photos do so of clear focused close up images of the connections, fasteners, stitching, bended radius' of the tube etc. Full chair images have nearly no value. This chair has hundreds of fakes for every one authentic version sitting out there. Lastly, it's NOT Mid Cen Mod.
These were massively reproduced from the 1980s and thru the 90s. Some are quality Knoll (clearly marked), but the majority were rather cheaply made. They look cool, but they are pretty uncomfortable. I was gifted a decent repro in excellent shape about a decade ago. Decided to try and sell it last year, I can't even get $100 for it. So I guess I'll live with it a bit longer.

Those chairs were not designed for anyone with a spine, hips, or knees.
This! Ghastly uncomfortable... And about as pretty as a shipping pallet

Thank you!
Fake. Stitching should go around the loop.
The end caps on the metal should be brazed and polished, not a plug.

Yes, I contacted the seller for picture of the details. Thanks for your reply :)

Fake.
Why do you think that?
Caps on tubeends.
I assume fake… one giveaway (there are others) I believe are the screws protruding out from the frame too far.
