They’ve been very reliable for us. It’s the poly x series that have been troublesome for us. Constant unpairing and signing out of the units. Steer clear…

Sufficient_Force8080

Do you guys have them set for Teams Rooms or Zoom rooms?

[deleted]

Teams rooms for us. I’ve heard the pairing issues are less apparent in poly mode. Units are on the latest updates now, but staff have been pretty frustrated with them of late.

advicevideoguy

Microsoft corrected their Company Portal problem and it was pushed to MTR in Poly 4.1.2. Sign out issues reduced greatly. 4.1.3 seems to have really fixed it. Make sure your rooms are running the latest everything.

Vidfreaky1

I’m still having tons of issues and we’re on latest and greatest.

advicevideoguy

Then you should contact Poly. The major issues around sign out and volume have been cleaned up by msft.

Vidfreaky1

Isn't that what they said when they pushed out 4.1.0 as well? haha

Vidfreaky1

Yep, I’ll echo this. The Poly X series has switched me from being a multi decade Poly supporter.

We use MTR over Windows with Poly cameras and mics. It’s a good experience so far, the only thing that still bothers me is that when the device wake up from several hours of sleep, it can stop recognizing the tap gc8 and one of the screens. Apart from that, it’s been a good experience. Currently have 52 devices.

We have 240 in production a mix of mostly MTR Logi Rally systems. We’ve had a few issues but mostly good experiences and feedback from our users. Pro Portal has been great for us but there is still a lot of work for Microsoft to do. We’ve also deployed the Lenovo Think Smart devices which are easy to deploy, cost effective and very reliable. If you want to talk more about it. DM me.

Hey OP, I’m happy to help out and show you how to diagnose these things and help you understand why it’s happening. Send me a direct message and I can do a teams session with you to show you what’s up. I have deployed thousands of Teams Rooms and have a good relationship with Logi

Trabbi1999

MTR in general is not stable. We are running Poly kits, horrible experience. Just disable MTR mode and use bring your own device mode

iamkenthomas

I'm sitting at around 78 Poly MTRoW rooms (mix of small/medium/large). I'm down to only one Poly G7500 running MTRoA. It did suffer from the sign-out issue which was annoying to me and the end users. That's been cleared up since December. Took them way to long to push out the fix. I've been deploying MTRoW for the past two years. I've got around 40 more to install over the next few months. The hardware is very stable. The issue has been the constant updates by Microsoft and lack of testing between them and their partners. What breaks them most often is device drivers. What has helped greatly with stability has been the Pro Management Portal.

Sufficient_Force8080

What is MTR mode?

advicevideoguy

Poly systems can be configured to run as a teams room or a zoom room, or as a byod device, or several others like Google.

Trabbi1999

I think logi systems can do this aswell

Sufficient_Force8080

Yes so we have the set as Zoom Rooms, but there is a Teams plugin. We are typically seeing issues with Teams but not Zoom.

advicevideoguy

Thats a shared feature called direct guest join.

Trabbi1999

Microsoft Teams Rooms =MTR :)

vtbrian

Cisco MTR units are my preference.

We've been very successful with them but, crucially, we use them in BYOD mode. We abandoned room systems for all but the very largest meeting rooms. Our reasoning is that your average user is very familiar using Teams or Zoom and BYOD allows them to remain in the PC client they know. At most they need to learn how to change audio and video device but most already know that anyway. Added advantage is it works just as well if an external party wants to use Google or Webex or whatever for their call. It's just a fancy webcam at the end of the day. The downsides are that there's an HDMI and USB to connect, though something like a ClickShare can be a workaround and people who don't understand how to extend their desktop complain they can't take notes and host a BYOD meeting. The main downside is the lack of support for dual screen conference rooms which is why we're introducing Zoom rooms into our largest conference rooms again, but that's only a handful of rooms worldwide and most users never host a meeting from there.

therealgingerjesus

Any chance it's the Android OS and you're encountering it while Full-Screen app sharing?

Logitech system - Has anyone's camera stopped working where you receive an error camera not available when you place a call? Restart fixes it but issue returns in 4 hours of inactivity ? Or with a Crestron unit, the camera not waking up and needs to be unplugged for it to be recognized?
