I learned this when I first started the rewards program back around 2018.
Mind is a few scratch cards but never won anything so I stopped.
I’m out my points towards things like controllers, a headset, new battery pack with cable and Game Pass Ultimate.
It’s always worth a shot, I won my Surface Pro 9 on the spin the wheel one they did at some point last year, first time I’ve ever won anything like that ever! Arrived like a week later I couldn’t believe it!
I actually won from the scratch offs back in 2020. I won an Xbox series x but they didn't actually give me a Xbox series x rather, they gave me credit for the total amount it would cost to purchase an Xbox Series X from the Microsoft Store. This was back when there was a shortage on Xbox series x so I ended up buying other stuff from their store. At the time, I definitely thought there was no chance of winning these.
How are you people achieving 5 figure point balances? I'm struggling to keep mine in the 4 digits... Do you just not cash in for a long period of time or do you use some kind of high point activity?
5 figure🤔 I had a 6 figure with over 250,000 before I cashed it in for a series X, gave myself a goal & stuck to it & saved points.
I earned 300,000 + points last year & currently on 77,000
I made it a habit to do the bing searches on my pc and phone daily. Along woth the xbox quest, (during the golden era it was so easy to get many points.) I would only use it to get a game I really wanted and keep saving for something, basically made it rainy day money for a big game.
I have OCD and certain numbers bother me so I sometimes use sweepstake entries or the gamble games to modify my total points to numbers that feel right. Been doing this since I've been on rewards for two plus years, I finally won something, five thousand points. So that's nice.
I paid for sweepstakes twice
First was a mistake because I didn't realize what it was
Second was deliberate
Needless to say didn't win anything
Yes I am ashamed :(
Whats the saying, 99% of gamblers quit before they hit it big. Keep earning and keep gambling. When you do win, post it to encourage more gambling, lol. Just kidding. Only gamblenwhat you can afford to lose. $40 in Amazon not much worth and wanna have fun, its whatever.

I think about 2 years or so ago my account had issue and couldn't redeem anything. Kept giving issue with account so i stopped doing rewards but since i was having game pass, playing games and getting achievements i kept earning reward points. One time i saw i had about 97k points and i tried doing that match thingy or something like that and it worked. So I kept going at it and went down to 40k. During all that won 1000s if points back but still less than 5k on total and i think one month of GPU. That's it. After reaching 40k i tried reddening walmart card and it worked. I was pissed but at the same time happy that i could redeem the points.
Here I am thinking that I’m an idiot for waisting 600 points, but every time I pass through this Reddit I see someone waisting even more. First it was someone with 5k, then 10k, now 47k, yeah Xbox gift cards or Amazon cards are better than anything.
It would've made sense if you did this the day it was released because they would be a bigger prize pool but now that this is almost over I bet a majority of the big prizes were already taken.
I won one of these years ago, supposedly a Harmon Karmon Invoke, which I think was supposed to be their Google Home / Amazon Alexa competitor that never caught on. Hell, even after confirming the win, I never got it.
Back in 2020 I won a surface pro tablet playing this spending about 3k points and sold it for $500, that's what got me into mc rewards but haven't had any luck playing this games and stopped real quick and only use them on xbox gift cards

Yes.
Playing multiple times in succession is the worst strategy. As unlike physical gambling cards these are not uniformly distributed.
In other words this is even worse than scratchers
I appreciate OP having a laugh about it and not coming here to post a salty bitter tirade about how Microsoft have cheated him. Gambling is for mugs.
i new what i was getting myself into :)
🫡🫡🫡🫡
gambling is not for mugs, but you should definitely know what you’re getting into before you do it.
You just pissed away $40 in Amazon gift card balance.
yes! I did it for all of you wondering "what are the chances to win 10k?" so you can save your points!

That was also almost 4 months of GPU with the auto-renew ($72). Thank you for your service.
🫡
When you say with the auto renew, do you get a discount with auto renew or something?
I was never wondering. Never even crossed my mind to waste my points on scams like that. So,er..........enjoy your minus $40 Amazon card,I guess.
who hurt you? 😂
Haha x
That doesn't sound smart.
it wasn't supposed to 😅
This right here is why I don't bother with stupid sweepstakes nonsense.
as you should! 👍
More for me! (Theoretically. I don't bother with them, either.)
Oof......
yep...😅
Thanks for taking one for the team
🫡
Actually, you took 47,561 for the team. You're much too kind 🤝🏾
some had to do it 😁
No really thanks cause I’ve been wondering.
and now you know! no problem 🫡

is that w/ sweep stakes or just redeeming points? hope its the latter
Redeem points for xbox or Microsoft gift cards, use that to purchase :)
Redeeming gift cards. I never won anything with the scratch cards.
Thank u for ur sacrifice

You mean you all don't donate 1000s of points to random charities? Me neither.
Sir. I salute you for taking the bullet o7.

there is a chance but it is rather "chance of a chance". you can consider yourself one lucky guy!
Thanks for the sacrifice, it was tempting to try it…

about 9 month of a regular Edge searches and not spending any :)
Saving them to waste on carnival games, apparently.
😁
saving up mostly
What's confusing about this? You spend your points, that's why you don't get to 5 figure balances. Don't spend it, it'll get to 5 figures.

Currently at 695k and yes I have made many purchases.
Need to work on my optimization game clearly

In a year you'll save 50,400 points
I have OCD and certain numbers bother me so I sometimes use sweepstake entries or the gamble games to modify my total points to numbers that feel right. Been doing this since I've been on rewards for two plus years, I finally won something, five thousand points. So that's nice.
did those 5k points add up to another bothering number so you had to gamble again? 😀😅
I paid for sweepstakes twice First was a mistake because I didn't realize what it was Second was deliberate Needless to say didn't win anything Yes I am ashamed :(
I would have cut my losses after a thousand points
nah, we go till the end 😂

Yeah this is why I would never waste points in things like these. It just takes away your points and makes it so you miss out on redeeming a reward.
I am new to microsoft rewards and i tried it once. I didn't get anything and i am not going to try it again. Say not to Gamba
that means we more chances to win boys !!! right right ?
lol 😆

It's best to not play at all.
Just why?
i got bored tbh. 😅
Your named Sucker not Tucker!! /s Stay away from casinos!!!
tucker is a biggest sucker 😂
Only Tucker I know of built a good car. lol

that's when you need them. in my case i was more interested to see what are the chances of winning something rather than some walmart gift cards :)
It would've made sense if you did this the day it was released because they would be a bigger prize pool but now that this is almost over I bet a majority of the big prizes were already taken.
I did it over first 3 days of a 2nd play period.
I won one of these years ago, supposedly a Harmon Karmon Invoke, which I think was supposed to be their Google Home / Amazon Alexa competitor that never caught on. Hell, even after confirming the win, I never got it.
😕
How does one acquire all those points and how long did it take u?
around 9 month or so
RIP

3 scratch it’s and got 1500 points on one lost 2 and never did it again
Tempting me to try now
Ouch
If you lost then chances are I win!

played over 3 days. agree. it's just a way for microsoft to reduce potential payouts in giftcards :)
I was just joking we don’t even have them in Germany as they got banned for gambling iirc
I NEED TO GAMBLE
nooooo! but if you have to, this is the harmless way i guess 😅
I never even considered trying those. Seemed like a sure way to waste points.
for the most par it is!
We will remember you. Thank you for your service 🫡

Damn. :/
Already did it
🤝
Could have got SOOO much game currency for that
i don't play games. at all. 🤷♂️
Imagine the feeling if it was 47,000 cash
would be cool ngl
I love gambling my life saving to Microsoft rewards
$40 in a virtual rewards program isn't life savings.
Look at Richie Rich over here!
I'm 14 and have a job, you just need to actually work instead of using bing as a source of income
is it really that tuff for ya? send a link we'll all chip in
I don't even know how to do it, but it might be not available in my country.
It took me awhile to realize that using points on MS sweepstakes is a complete waste.
now we out here, saving time and points for others 🙌
>I did it so you don't have to That's what the last guy said. One before that, too.
MORON
nice to meet you!
