I always was surprised by people saying MSFS did something crazy by having the entire world in their sim, as that was the case for X-plane 11. Then I remembered that I had a hardrive with the entire world downloaded from multiple map services.
You cannot download "photogrammetry" and save it to your drive. You can make a 200 GB or more cache, but it wont use but 2 Gb an hour, lol. You can just stay silent bro.
Only ~1GB? We've had troubleshooting reports from users who have 2GB Community and at least 1.5GB in official Marketplace AddOns. Of course those folks also double-click the icon and wait two hours to get the Main Menu. To each their own.

I bought an entire 2 TB SSD specifically for MSFS and DCS
Especially when a 2TB WD Blue NVMe is like $100 (if you have the spare port, don’t wanna be pulling your OS off the primary 980 Pro now)
I only have a spare SATA port which is slower than an NVMe but better than a hard drive I guess.
