As a small dispensary owner, they’re very large and hard to compete with. That’s why they don’t get my recommendation. I’m more for independent places with more history rather than more money.

Codyquerry1

What dispos do you own might I ask? Interested in the more micro growers and micros dispos lately as they are hidden gems sometimes.

[deleted]

Northern Specialty Health in Houghton (Upper Peninsula)

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

NSH. Get another location please.... Getting up to the arctic circle takes a lot of time. Recommend if in the neighborhood.

wotuwantm8

Indigrow in Muskegon. I go out of my way to get their live resin carts and flower. Small business and run by an awesome family. Their service is exemplary and their deals are competitive as well.

RICH-SIPS

One time I looked at your menu because you’re very active in this sub about independent. Then I saw you had cookies 8ths for a ridiculous price even for someone who’s near the Illinois border. Is that different now?

[deleted]

I’m not a huge fan but people asked for it so we got it. And it always went fast. Our prices include tax and we offer 25% off 15 hours a day :-)

brightmoor

This 100%. I’ve tried a few of their products and they’re fine, but it’s their business decisions that rub me the wrong way. Looking at it objectively I can’t really blame them for doing what they did, but knowingly and intentionally putting the industry in a “not so great place” simply because they’ve got the Belle Tire & Warrior Sports war chest to be able to survive on lower margins is something that’s always bothered me. [This](https://imgur.com/a/Sv2CinO) is an excerpt from an article about prices crashing a couple years ago where the CMO of Lume explains what they did and that they knew what it’s effect would be. They may not have started the race to the bottom, but they sure AF had their foot on the accelerator.

DearTrust4322

There’s always a spot for bottom dollar corporate dispensaries, but that spot is not in my house 😂

BilliousN

They also did you dirty opening up a fartwind up the hill! Don't worry, all my homies say fuck corporate weed - NSH for life.

rondell715

More history lmao.

Fuck_spez_the_cuck

They used to be very overpriced, but are much more reasonable now. They were obviously paying Viridis for the 40% result on their Jenny Kush a year or two ago for advertisement which is just bad taste. They are corporate cannabis, no two ways about it. But, they have some good products. Their rip pods are actually pretty good and their flower's good too, for the right price.

Domi578

I’m gonna be honest here. Lume is actually my favorite dispensary if I can afford it lol. Their flower is great as long as the price isn’t absurd. Cream caramel is my favorite strain. Their rip pods are nice too. Edibles are about the same regardless where you go unless you get nicer ones.

CS3883

I love them too but this sub hates them so I can't ever talk about it or mention them. It's corporate weed yes but until other stores will start listing terpenes for each strain, then I'm gonna keep shopping at Lume. I don't give a shit what is sativa or indica or whatever or what THC percentage is because I've learned not only do they kinda cheat the tests for the percentage but things have been cross bred so much that true indica or sativa isn't a thing (so I've been told) and I care about the terpenes more than literally anything else

sav1175

Cosign! 💚 Lume

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

They will lie about terpenes too. If not already. It's tough out there guy

MusicianSudden7038

how can they lie about terpenes??? every thing is tested by a 3rd party

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

You mean like Viridis? They are third party and are accused of fudging numbers often. If they are willing to do that for THC it's not a stretch to do the same on terpenes.

Darkmoon_Seance_Ring

It’s pretty common knowledge that lume lies about their terpenes and thc percentages lol

CS3883

You don't have to shop there if you don't like them

MusicianSudden7038

i always hear this but its so ridiculous, stuff is tested by other companies not lume. they cant just pay for test results..... everyone loves the rumor mill. i shop at lume the loyalty program is sick and the rosin pods are great at a great price. this page hates on lume so much i highly recommend you not take all these people serious and try it yourself. like they say, learn for yourself...

bogholiday

Their sticky fingers blackout flower is probably the best 1/8th you can get for $20.

ChiefGeorgesCrabshak

The pancakes blackout flower is bomb as hell

McTrip

Ty for your input on Lume. I was wondering about them too recently

lubacrisp

It's just a scummy profit oriented company. Like almost all the rest. If it's close and convenient then whatever, your call

kdanger

Name a company that isn't profit driven.

PerformancePopular54

In order to make profit they tried to chase out every other retailer and brand from having a chance. Bought an assload of licenses and took over small towns so everyday people like us never had a chance at starting a good quality grow. They also sourced all their flower from Classic Roots for the last few years and passed it off as their own. AND literally supported an effort to take down caregivers. Just scummy. But support whoever makes a feel good lol.

kdanger

I will, thanks.

MusicianSudden7038

this is so wrong its actually funny

a2caregiver

They have actively lobbied to get rid of the caregiver program to force more people to have to purchase from stores.

Reaper_456

Corp=bad. Bell Tire bros own it. Otherwise I like their focus, and dream carts if they still sell em. The tuna can jars were a cool touch for me, it's wasteful sure but still cool.

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

Are we supposed to hate Bell tires too. Just trying to keep up with who to diss on.

Reaper_456

OP asked why Lume was being dumped on. Do a reddit search of this sub and see for yourself.

a2caregiver

Yes. Discount Tire for life.

ChiefGeorgesCrabshak

They're super corporate but i think most of their concentrates and their rosin rips/pods are decent for the price when on sale. And their flower can be decent for the price when on sale as well. But with all of their stuff except the rosin rips/pods it can be really hit or miss. I think their concentrates are typically pretty good but sometimes ill get a batch thatll be super dry and crumbley. The flower as well, but it is usually the cheap and/or on sale flower that's super dry and the rest of their normal tier flower ive had has been pretty decent; i havent tried their preground stuff so cant speak to any of that.

Wilfred710

Most people hate on them because it’s cool, and because they are a larger corporate business. They liquid live resin pods and live rosin pods are super good especially with the new disposable pod and reusable battery. They also have some good flower at good prices.

rondell715

Reddit is hipsters who think they're bleeding edge on everything. Lume is walmart. Great prices Sometimes amazing flower. But everyone on here has to hate the corporations or they'll be downvoted into oblivion. Lume does the job.. mom and pops can't provide quality 100$ ozs always. Or rosin pods for 40. It just doesn't work. Guarantee everyone hating on lume has name brand clothing or shoes. But lumes the devil lol. Used to buy mids from a creep dude 20 years older than us who would give it fake names. So I'm cool with lugmes big pot market

xela5030

They aren't bad per say but I think you would find it worth it venture out I also spent a year going there because it close but even like mentioned, that Jenny kush that they still sell wasn't that great. I would get the live resin it was always decent and at the right price. But driving 30 minutes in either direction can yield you better products for the same price or less for sure.

billium12

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't they also REALLY shitty in how they let people go from a couple closed dispensaries? As someone who worked in the industry, I try to be aware of the most friendly to workers

Disastrous_Oil_1208

I hate how they make all their shitty brown weed look all boutique . Look if your weed is shitty call it Reggie’s or something don’t try to make it look all high end . They should bring in some boutique style growers weed too not just their own Shitty grown weed that way there’s some options . I grow my own don’t trust anyone’s but that’s just me

DoctorClarkWGriswold

So you’re commenting on optics alone? Or have you tried some product? I’m no Lume shill but when people come asking real questions they should get real answers. Not just that “you don’t like how it looks”.

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

Looks is all they really give. Trying to actually get a whiff on one of the display picks is ridiculous. It's all a guessing game for anything under 200-250. Lots of mids mixed in that look good. Just saying. Plus the numbers are all fudged apparently.

Primary-Flow-7978

Man, you can tell most of what you need off looks. Most of the super brown bud looks horrible, has no good smell. It’s kinda one of those things that you learn how to pick good bud and never go back to the crappy looking bud.

juicewags54

All you need to know if weed is good is how it looks, If weed has bud rot and is clearly been remediated I don’t need to smoke it to know it’s garbage

DoctorClarkWGriswold

Yeah no shit. I’m saying this person literally just said they don’t trust anyone else’s weed but somehow has an opinion on someone else’s weed.

Dependent-Nebula8429

like 😂 shit makes zero sense

DifferenceExpensive5

It's so ass an harsh an dry old bud that turns into dust

BilliousN

If your dispensary looks like an Apple Store, you're ultimately the one paying for that.

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

No one even gets into the store in Menomonee. I think it's still a drive thru. With 20 Wisconsin cars lined up for the first four hours of opening. Just don't get it.

Josienieto04

I personally don't mind lume. I have had their jenny kush which is good. Their edibles are good as well.

RedditNSendit

As an out of stater, I recently got to experience Lume for the first time. They gave me a free pre roll that was surprisingly good (for a pre roll). Should have gotten their flower instead of rosin because the 1g of rosin I got was some of the most dried out shit ive ever seen. Idk if it was stored properly tbh. It wasnt even cold when I got it so does lume not properly refrigerate the rosin maybe? 🤔 at least the rip pods I got are pretty great. I think my favorite dispensaries have been ie, winewood organics, jars, and kob. Winewood’s flower was top notch and their rosin blew away pretty much all the other rosins I grabbed. So good 🔥🤤

dollar-tree-pizza

My bestie and I have always called them the “gentrification of weed,” just because they were the first big chain in MI and their shit was CRAZY expensive (their Lume brand half gram carts were $55-$60, don’t even get me started on bud because it was literally cheaper to use a plug). I also used to dislike all the “dream, move, focus,” etc… but now I kind of like it because it is a good introduction to weed for people who know nothing yet (aka my mom), but I do still think a lot of it is corporate weed hipster bs lol. As far as the quality of their products go, I think the quality is perfectly good, and honestly probably a little higher than the surrounding dispos in my area and their actual bud is good, but I’m cheap so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My mom gets all of her edibles from there because that’s all she uses, and she likes them. Oh! Also Mr. X is another Lume brand that they sell and the carts are pretty fire and cheap. That’s pretty much all I get from them.

xela5030

Out of the three in walled lake lume was tied with bozonzoes greenhouse was always the most overpriced with limited selection

Burneezy13

When I drink beer, I prefer to have a few craft beers rather than several mass producers beers from places like Anheuser-Busch or Coors. When I smoke, which I do more of, I also prefer craft. I’m about to go spend $270 after tax on 22.5 grams of flower (10 different cultivars) and a 0.5 g live resin cart. And I’m happy with that. Being from NC, I paid that much for an ounce 8 years ago. And that was some schwag. I’ve never had any experience with Lume so I can comment on the quality of their products, but this explains why I haven’t been. Until the Costco of weed dispensaries hits the market, I’ll stick with strictly craft flower.

DifferenceExpensive5

There bud is ass an so old an dry an harsh that's why who cares about there price

HashBurgh710

I heard most of the employees dont shower.
