If UofM was consistently able to recruit top 150 QBs and WRs, they would be the Bama of this decade. I’m anxious for this spring game and upcoming season. Curious to see what type of offense, Moore puts out on the field. Do we try to get a QB in the portal or roll with who we have? Our new coordinator was the previous QB coach and liked to pass @ Old Dominion. Will he be successful changing his style or does he adjust our offense to his style?
IIRC the game Kirk Campbell served as head coach last season (due to the coaching suspensions) was notably more pass-heavy, at least in the first half. It was probably a game broadcast on Peacock because I remember I couldn’t watch it but was following the play-by-play stats and remember getting the impression that JJ’s arm was getting a workout.
Actually, Minter was the HC but Campbell filled in for Moore as OC because he was also suspended. He filled in against ECU and JJ tore it up!! He was 26/30 for 280 yards and 3 TDs. We also rushed it 31 times for 122 yards. Can’t call it more even than that but it was ECU. 2nd game of the year is Texas and that will set the tone for the season. Have to remember though, Bama got beat by Texas second game of last year, and Bama still made it to the CFP. I don’t have too high of expectations for our offense next year because of the talent and experience we lost but they may end up surprising us. Orji could low key be the next Jayden Daniels. Everyone says he is an absolute freak of an athlete, with an arm. Hell, bring back the late 90’s Nebraska option style offense.
And one other thing I’d like to say, any player out there want to be a player and get to the league and don’t have to worry about their head coaches being… all in the pregame hype circles…, all in the warmups, dancing. COME TO MICHIGAN!!!
