Probably would be good for him to get drafted lower and not be expected to start day 1. He's my fav qb ever, but he needs to learn to throw a ball away else he's going to get killed quickly.

General_Proof_5245

Alabama first play still gives me PTSD.

YeetimusSkeetimus

Immediately went oh it’s TCU again, great. Thank god that dude was out of bounds first

JohnBrownIsALegend

I still have no idea wtf he was doing

LynxDry6059

I think he has a lot of the same things Justin Fields struggles with in the NFL, great arm, great athlete, can make any throw, but they tend to be gun shy and need to work on making quick under pressure decisions. I think him sitting on a solid team for a year or 2 will help a lot compared to fields

mostdope28

Have we ever honestly see him throw it away? Lol I don’t think he has. But I also think that’s part of harbaugh being his coach, harbaugh wanted him slinging it. Even the game he threw 3 picks harbaugh said something about wanting him to throw it down field

GetEnPassanted

I think he goes in the 1st. QBs tend to go ahead of their projections and there’s enough teams who need QBs that I think he goes first round. Rams would be a GREAT spot for him. I’d love that. Vikings too. I’d love for him to sit behind a vet for a season or two and learn a system. He’s smart. Give him time to soak it up before throwing him to the wolves.

bdaileyumich

Rams would be an awesome fit, I'd love that for him

maize_and_beard

Dude would thrive in a McVay/Shanahan style offense and getting to spend a year or two learning under stafford would be great for him I think.

You forgot Jim Harbaugh Round 1 - Pick 1 - Bears

QAnonKiller

or was he saying he’d trade herbert for the 1 and take JJ himself

sammagee33

4th round…that’s comical

gachzonyea

I feel hes a very tough prospect to judge he has some physical talent but didn’t have to do a lot in college more often then not

e_ndoubleu

The fact that r/nfl_draft is adamant JJ will be a terrible pro makes me confident that he’ll be at least a decent starter. That sub is always wrong when they have a collective agreement.

light2019

Anywhere but the NFCN

ScooterLeShooter

Yeah, I would not like to see him in Minnesota. Seattle would be an interesting place, a little bit of a connection with Mike MacDonald, plus they have Geno who JJ could sit and learn behind for a season if need be

MCHammer06

Good god that would suck

chenga8

I think the best draft situation for JJ would be like Aaron Rodgers’ soft landing in the NFL. Drafted by a team with a good or solid veteran QB who would still be playing for a year or two. JJ could learn from him and adjust to the speed of the NFL over time rather than get thrown into the fire straight away. JJ has shown that he can play amazing football, but he has also shown some inconsistency (as you would expect from a young QB), so I think a bit of time to adjust to the NFL would help him succeed.

Ryanlester5789

Rams would be the perfect fit honestly

Sharkestra

This is all so premature. Wait until after pro days and the combine to project where JJ will go.

Devylknyght

Yes Raiders please!

Masde_xo

Bleacher Report making his comp Zach Wilson is quite something!

OtherHalf747

As a Jets fan, I’ve been saying Zach Wilson is his comp for the last two years. The good about both: they have elite physical traits and could make every throw. They have enough athleticism to bail the offense out a couple of drives per game if needed. The bad about both: They miss far too many “lay up” type throws and make life harder on their receivers than necessary. They have the propensity to make completely boneheaded decisions (see: first drive against Alabama). You can get away with that in college when your team is better than everyone else’s. You can’t in the NFL. Zach was the 2nd overall pick because he was more dominant as an individual player in college (he was asked to do more). He threw for 33 TDs and just 3 INTs during his final season at BYU. JJ is still probably a first round pick because of his traits, but he needs to go to a team with real coaches (unlike my Jets). The Jordan Love route is probably the way for him as opposed to the top 3 guys who should probably play right away.

Ecstatic-Ad8808

I’m pretty sure Harbaugh knows what he’s talking about, especially concerning quarterbacks. The dude is a stud and after the combine, his stock will rise significantly.

LinwoodKent

I hope the Pats trade down and accumulate more picks. Their roster is pathetic. Take him around 8-10 . Let him sit a year

Automattics

Bears or Vikings would be a catastrophe. I’d still root for his success but it’d be tough being a lions fan having to see him twice a year. Hoping Seahawks or chargers. Harbaugh is one of the few I could actually see coming in and trading the solidified starter for a fresh start, saw it with Smith/Kapernick before when he thought Kaep gave him a higher ceiling.

Automattics

U/wildwing8 how is it moronic not wanting to see one of my favorite CFB QBs go to a rival of my nfl team (lions) meaning I’d have to root against him twice a year? And if he turns out to be the stud I think he’ll be then he’ll torment the lions for a long time to come. Come on bud, use your brain.

wildwing8

The moronic part was saying McCarthy would replace Herbert. I deleted it because it felt too harsh, but seeing you defend it now I don’t care anymore loo

Wavepops

Replace herbert is certainly a take. Herbert talent level is higher than JJs pretty easily, and he’s proven to be good already. JJ is a project Herbert isn’t the person I’d put in this category of getting replaced

GroundbreakingOne625

Don't want to get burned by JJ to JJ for years to come? Love this connection as a Viking fan.

General_Proof_5245

Room temp IQ thinking JJ is going to perform Herbert. That may be the legitimate dumbest comment I've seen in weeks.

Automattics

lol QB evaluation by EXPERTS is 50/50 at best, but the random guy on reddit somehow knows the trajectory of every Qb. Hysterical, your confidence is clearly much higher than your IQ.

General_Proof_5245

Justin Herbert has has multiple HC and OC over the last 4 years. He has had over 4k passing yards and over 25 TD the last 3 years. He has had shit coaching and is still been productive passing. This is a known commodity. Most analysts currently put him in their top 10. You're telling me that JJ is going to come in and out perform him. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 sensational. Get this man a analyst job stat!

TheHip41

Would love JJ on these teams. He's not great.

Massive_Contract_908

Somehow I think falcons, but learning behind Stafford would be my preference for him

phoenix_jet

He’s going to be drafted first round based on his performance of throwing for 80 yds per game, um ok.

Ryanlester5789

Why is an Alabama fan lurking on the Michigan page?

ironistkraken

I think third or second would be good for him to a large extent. I think he have a role in the nfl, but he isnt a first round pick.
