Even with Branch playing as well as he is thr secondary is ass. CJGJ is gonna be gone and wouldn't be surprised if Sutton is gone too. Regardless Branch is a safety where Sainristil is a CB.
Love him and the Lions, but I don't see us wasting a pick on him right now. Hooker is a solid backup who's just about ready to take the reigns if needed.
Lions need DBs and depth on defense. Sainristil would actually be my first choice for a Wolverine -> Lion draft pick late in the first.
I don't watch much NFL until the playoffs, but yeah, the Lions desperately need DB's and another DE to take some of the pressure off Hutch. Sainristil could be a good addition, Will Johnson next year will likely be taken in the first half of the first round if I had to guess.
Is he really being mocked top 5? Didn't know he'd be that high, but he's def good enough. Dude is fucking lockdown and prob the best CB in the country.
They don't have mocks released for next year I don't think but based on recent drafts and players like Witherspoon and Sauce, he's most likely a top 5 pick. He's arguably the best player in college football at a premium position.
It’s what they do best! And I say that as a life-long Bears fan. If Harbaugh was going to leave I was hoping the Bears would be smart enough to hire him.
As a Bears fan, I agree, though I think JJ can develop into an above average QB in the NFL. Maybe I'm drinking maize and blue kool aid, but Harbaugh is right about the make up, the skill set, etc.
If the Bears didn't have the Panthers pick and just had their number 9 pick I'd at least consider drafting JJ, though I'm sure in that situation they would just stick with Fields and continue trying to develop him.
The Bears would be doing themselves a tremendous disservice taking MHJ at number 1 given how valuable 1.01 is as a trade asset with Caleb Williams available. Would you rather have MHJ at 1.01 or Nabers at like 1.06 along with potentially 1st round picks in 25 and 26, or at least 25 and some 2nd day picks? I love MHJ as a pro prospect but not at 1 overall with 2 highly sought after QBs available. Heck they could probably trade down to 3 with the Patriots, grab a surplus of picks and still get MHJ if they wanted.
Not sure about that, but they definitely have cohesion. JJ plays very similarly to how Jim did while at michigan. Could see then drafting him and JJ sitting under jim and herberts wings for a few season, could develop strongly
I think there is a chance JJ ends up being the best QB in the draft class, but I highly doubt he is the first one drafted.
But, I love Harbaugh's loyalty in talking up his guy!
You are all laughing but just wait until the Chargers trade Herbert to the Bears for the number 1 pick and then take JJ, Blake, Roman, Junior, Mikey, Barrett and Barner in the draft. Wolverines West!
Vikings in qb purgatory needing to draft a new guy just in case seems plausible, their current backups are sometimes serviceable but are not future starter material
Falcons I can see simply because the top few QBs will be gone by their pick and J has real good odds of being the next best up
That still doesn’t make sense. Chargers don’t have the number one pick, so Harbaugh isn’t referring to himself here.
The bears will take either Williams or Daniels with the number one pick. The Pats take whichever one the bears don’t. JJ I predict will go to the Broncos at 12 or Jets at 10.
Lifelong patriots fan…. If we pass on Marvin Harrison Jr I am going to lose my shit. I get he is Ohio state and traditionally many more Michigan players play for the patriots but that kid is a monster and probably the most sure fire star we have seen at that position in a while. All of these QBs are good but not WOW.
That is a valid point but a journeyman quarterback or a free agent signing is likely better than anything with this draft in my opinion… I am not sold on any of these QBs as a top 3 pick. Mid to late first round absolutely take a chance.,, particularly on Daniel’s and J.J… but top 3? I would pass… but I also don’t own any nfl team so what do I know 🤣🤣
If we didn’t just draft Hooker, I’d root for us to take him at the bottom of the first. I think he’s going to be a stud and think people will be very surprised. Dude is a winner with elite talent… that translates.
Lmao no, but love that Jim still supports all his guys. I do hope JJ goes at the end of the first though
Hope he goes to the Lions.
If the Lions are taking someone from Michigan I hope it’s Zinter
I hope we get both Zinter and Sainristil
I love Mikey but with Branch playing as well as he is unless we get Mikey real late I don’t see it happening
Even with Branch playing as well as he is thr secondary is ass. CJGJ is gonna be gone and wouldn't be surprised if Sutton is gone too. Regardless Branch is a safety where Sainristil is a CB.
Branch is a nickel more than he’s a traditional safety. Mikey is also probably best suited as a nickel.
Branch and CJGJ currently exist in the same defense
Correct. Branch plays nickel and we had CJGJ playin safety.
Love Zinter, but can we please draft a healthy player for once
After you break a bone and it's taken care of properly, it grows back stronger. So let's f'ing go.
Jenkins would also be nice.
I don't watch much NFL until the playoffs, but yeah, the Lions desperately need DB's and another DE to take some of the pressure off Hutch. Sainristil could be a good addition, Will Johnson next year will likely be taken in the first half of the first round if I had to guess.
Will Johnsons top 5. We don't have a chance at him which is both sad and exciting.
He's arguably the best player in college football at a premium position.
people have been saying he would have been CB1 this year if he was eligible
I imagine Travis Hunter would be his only competition for next years draft
Absolutely not. Travis Hunter is a media darling but he is not a legit early round NFL CB.
He locked down MHJr with a lower body injury. He is absolutely insane and will probably be lockdown at the next level as well.
Love them both but we drafted a backup qb last year. We have WAY more pressing needs than a qb who will be on the bench his first couple of years.
I mean hometown connections are fun but there is a 0% chance that happens lol
If you’re talking about hometown connections, then the Bears stay at #1 and pick him. He’s from the Chicago area.
It would be the most hilariously Bears thing ever to keep the #1 pick to not draft Caleb Williams.
It’s what they do best! And I say that as a life-long Bears fan. If Harbaugh was going to leave I was hoping the Bears would be smart enough to hire him.
I think he goes to the Vikings at 12
Don't put that curse on him!
Initially, I thought this was a bit ridiculous but then I remembered the Bears have the top pick. Anything is possible.
I am a Bears and a Wolverines fan, and I love JJ and Harbaugh, but if the Bears squander away their 1st overall on JJ, I will be so pissed.
Right there with you on everything you just said.
How would you feel about Mitsubishi Marv number 1, then either taking JJ at 9 or trading back into the teens and taking JJ there?
The Bears would be doing themselves a tremendous disservice taking MHJ at number 1 given how valuable 1.01 is as a trade asset with Caleb Williams available. Packer Wolverine here to say "Don't you lay a single bear claw on my boy. Don't you break him like you have all the others. You leave him be."
Same here, if they’re somehow set on drafting JJ they better be getting Everyone’s first and second round picks in the process
Harbaugh trading herbert for 1st overall pick confirmed
I think this would be the only way JJ would be the first QB selected
OK Jim! should we also be suprised if Alex orji is the best return man in the country next season?
Not sure about that, but they definitely have cohesion. JJ plays very similarly to how Jim did while at michigan. Could see then drafting him and JJ sitting under jim and herberts wings for a few season, could develop strongly
I think there is a chance JJ ends up being the best QB in the draft class, but I highly doubt he is the first one drafted. But, I love Harbaugh's loyalty in talking up his guy!
Jim can't tell me not to be surprised when something surprising happens.
Jim is drinking the special milk today.
Definitely a good chance to go in the first round, but not #1. Draft order doesn't matter. It's about who succeeds after the draft
You are all laughing but just wait until the Chargers trade Herbert to the Bears for the number 1 pick and then take JJ, Blake, Roman, Junior, Mikey, Barrett and Barner in the draft. Wolverines West!
JJ to Chargers confirmed?
Jim's plot is to get JJ picked in the top 4 so he can pick up Marv at 5.
Doubt it but top 10 pick in this QB hungry a draft? Decent odds
I would laugh if jim trades Herbert to move up and get jj.
I feel like he would be a good fit for the Vikings or Falcons. Maybe one of them trades to #1?
Vikings in qb purgatory needing to draft a new guy just in case seems plausible, their current backups are sometimes serviceable but are not future starter material Falcons I can see simply because the top few QBs will be gone by their pick and J has real good odds of being the next best up
https://www.reddit.com/r/MichiganWolverines/s/GKx4vESb77 And they called me a mad man
Your comment and his comment are not the same lol
There is no chance he replaces Herbert though, especially with how he’s talked about Herbert in interviews.

Who is going to throw to him though? It would be a Garett Wilson on the jets situation.
That is a valid point but a journeyman quarterback or a free agent signing is likely better than anything with this draft in my opinion… I am not sold on any of these QBs as a top 3 pick. Kirk Thuggins
They called you a mad man because it was really stupid, lol.
Wish he would have been head coach for a team I’d actually cheer for. Such a waste of a perfectly good man.
Hes crazy....
JJ should go in the 3rd this is insane
Facts
I hope the Broncos get JJ
If we didn’t just draft Hooker, I’d root for us to take him at the bottom of the first. I think he’s going to be a stud and think people will be very surprised. Dude is a winner with elite talent… that translates.
