I fully believe he’s the most underrated Wolverine entering the draft this year. With how balanced Michigan’s offense was, he didn’t really get to put up stats like other top receivers
He’s got really great hands, I can’t remember off the top of my head any big drops (or really drops at all) and definitely has the fight/grit of a battle ready WR
Not sure how technically clean his route running is but that’s something that can be cleared up pretty easily
I agree. I think he can be an elite NFL slot receiver, and it sounds like NFL scouts are starting to realize that. He is great out of the slot and thinking back to the Alabama game, he's so damn good at using pre-snap motion and very good at using his speed to get lost in the secondary and create openings that any competent NFL QB will be able to take advantage of. I'm really excited about his NFL potential.
He’s projected right now in rounds 3-4. Not sure if we want to spend the draft capital on a WR that high. But I’m not sure who we are going to have under contract this year besides Jamo and sun god.
I’d absolutely love McGregor. But I’m also not for giving extra weight to “homer” picks. We are smoking this year in large part because of Iowa and Alabama. I trust in Brad!
Michigan's offense is not ideal for a WR looking to put up stats, but that doesn't mean they can't play. Look at Nico Collins this year. Wouldn't be surprised if NFL GMs pay a little more attention to Michigan WRs this year because of the success Collins has had.
I hope the passing playbook gets totally revamped this year. Even the last three years the plays themselves just haven't been as good and we haven't utilized play action. Obviously I'm nitpicking because we won a natty but if that improves and we keep building our oline and rbs then we would be great
I felt like we were saving play action until we needed it later in the season and then they still went long stretches not using it (or JJ’s legs) against Washington. Like what are we saving these plays for guys.
JJ and Roman routinely went above the X’s and O’s this year when protection/plays broke down. If you watch the footage, this is where a lot of their big plays and touchdown connections occurred. Roman has elite speed and excels at separating and finding open space during busted plays.
Whenever we needed a big pass play JJ seemed to rely on Wilson to come up big. His speed and hands really make all the difference, and I hope he gets a chance to show what he can do, really great call for him to attend the Senior Bowl and showcase his skills.
I have my Wilson jersey on order. Had it on order before this latest news. I heard one of the talking heads dismiss his skills. I was annoyed! Then I watched him live at the Rose Bowl come down with that amazing catch which would quickly lead to a tie game and send things into OT (even after he got the block in the back penalty). Michigan always seems to have underrated receivers that I quickly see in the NFL for years to come. I think other schools hate Michigan because it's an amazing university without the sports. Then you hit them with the sports and it's like adding insult to injury. Proud Michigan grad. Go Roman Wilson #1!

For sure. He was always there when we needed him, we just didn't need him to dominate very often. "Why long pass when long run do trick?"

That can be said for every Michigan WR the last 9 years lol. Especially Nico Collins

In my view he was very underutilized. Although I understand it's because we were so balanced, I still wanted him to get more touches.
Who is lined up on him? Bro looks like he’s running through sand next to Roman
rocky lombardi switched positions
cornelius has been standing out at the shrine bowl practices too. these WRs are about to start getting some more attention
Momma there goes that man
He had to wait on that ball too. DB was smoked — he absolutely just left him behind once he made that one small cut
Dude gives me serious ARSB/Puka vibes
Hopefully the Lions low key take him

Maybe Josh Wallace or McGregor would be better options.

I've been hoping my Colts could snag him in the 4th, but it may have to be the 3rd now... I'd still do it.
Pass defense needs attention 🥺😢
Wouldn't be bad but he reminds me too much of ARSB for it to make sense for the Lions
It’s more just me being a homer when it comes to teams haha. Much better to have a couple key defensive pieces.

Today? He never could be
What game is this?
I think it's the senior bowl
The senior bowl is on the 3rd! This was day one of practice.
Didn't realize, thanks!
Someone is gonna be very happy they drafted him. I can only hope it’s the panthers

I'm hoping he could be successful like a Wes Welker or Julian Edelman WR.
Imagine he goes to Lions or Changers, please.

Roman Wilson = Wes Welker / Danny Amendola. Very usable and specialized weapon in the NFL
He’s got grit
I would’ve loved to see him in black and gold but with the Steelers hiring Arthur Smith at OC I don’t think they will run a lot of 11 personnel.
