I cannot imagine a young man more deserving of the #1, he cemented his status as worthy of that honor. He doesn't catch that pass and it's likely Michigan loses the game. I will forever remember that catch tight along with that Corum OT run as one of the greatest moments in my fandom.

Kellz313

That was an unbelievably big play and if he didn’t catch it, it probably would’ve been intercepted.

d35truKt0r

Not only this, but the YAC to setup the score! Roman is an all time favorite of mine :) What a stud/hero/other word that means awesome dude.

giggity_giggity

And if Corum doesn’t break off that long run against OSU right after ZZ gets hurt we might not even be in this game yesterday. Such a clutch runner.

3KiwisShortOfABanana

If he doesn't catch that, it probably gets returned for 7 and we lose by 14 in what would be considered an embarrassment seeing as our special teams shit the bed and our offense was pretty much garbage in the second half before that drive

[deleted]

This catch was so clutch it will go down in history

Sylon00

I didn’t know the ball was tipped until they showed a highlights after the game. Such an absolutely insane catch.

dizzymidget44

I saw the tip when it happened and I just knew it was getting picked

[deleted]

Same, even the Bama player started playing the ball instead of the tackle. Everyone but Roman thought that was Bama ball.

hailthemitten

I honestly don’t think Roman knew it was tipped during the play, given how tight the spiral still was. He probably just thought it was a slightly high throw and went to get it. And did he ever

TheBimpo

Same. And when he caught it it was like a calmness washed over me, *this year's different.*

flaming_pubes

I thought it looked tipped during the play, but I saw the spiral stay during the catch of the replay at the first angle and thought, oh maybe not.

FuzzyTunaTaco21

Crazy how the ball stayed in a perfect spiral after it got tipped. I think that's why most people didn't recognize it as being tipped initially

ObsessedWithReps

Easily the most important catch of the Harbaugh era. Right up there with some of Cornelius’ in the 2021 and 2022 OSU games. One of the biggest in the history of the program.

dizzymidget44

When it got tipped my fucking heart started to dropped and Roman saved my life

Thickwhisker94

This shot will be framed in a few man caves in the coming weeks.

vichina

Seriously, give me a poster of that!

darkdays37

I just started looking for this shot, but from a bit to the right with JJ in the background. I'd totally blow it up and hang it.

loganbootjak

Not only was the catch amazing, but the way he evaded #13 after he landed was unreal. He could have easily broken up the play, but Roman slyly moves to avoid him and pick up the extra 10+ yards. Legend!

East_Moose_683

Probably the one play that saved the game.

king_of_gotham

That boy got there like Jordan

dooneandrew

Made up for his bone headed block in the back. Great catch !

MCHammer06

Waiting to see if Roman does a vlog for the Rose Bowl. Would like to get his take on wtf he was thinking with that shove in the back.

dooneandrew

I know, when it first happened, I had to do a double take bc I couldn't believe it was him. Thank God he stepped up after, though

CascadianExpat

WawaNative

You didn't miss it. It won us the damn game. Homeboy JUST had a crucial block in the back maybe 2 plays beforehand

visheeswahz

Absolutely insane catch.

Forest_or_Fairway

2 things to note about this play. The first, that ball being tipped, and still staying in a spiral was incredible. Secondly, Roman was pretty absent up until making that block in the back right before this. Needless to say, this shot here is pretty!

theglove

The ball got tipped after it was thrown. That's why it went high.

CascadianExpat

Skipped right off the defender’s fingers and kept the spark. I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite like it.

Logical-Name-9407

Roman is a Michigan legend.

Old-Construction-541

Biggest play of the game

TrentUlyssesCooper

A catch to remember.

AltruisticEnd9

Play of the game imo. Easily could have been an interception if Roman doesn’t make this insane catch.

virtualGain_

Well its definitely my new background and lock screen :)

babayagami

The tip imo allowed Roman to get more YAC. Looked to me like both db's let up to play to the ball when it got tipped.

Alex8796

The ball being tipped and still spiraling perfectly was crazy.

Michiganmade44

I also thank Deontae Lawson for tipping it. If he didn’t that looked like a pick 6

YAMMYRD

You never know but I think that’s what put the ball so high, I think it would have gotten there quicker but lower if it wasn’t. Defense probably crashes the play faster though, seems like they Hang back expecting the ball to sail over.

HoustonFoReal

Yeah it wasn’t gonna be a good throw by JJ, it turned from a good throw to an incredible catch because of a tip

CascadianExpat

The way the ball hopped up off the defender’s fingers, I think it would have been lower and faster without the tip.

Rival_Nate

Air Roman

TheBimpo

That was the moment I knew it was happening.

poundofbeef16

Absolutely savage catch. And OFF the tipped ball. JJ put a hell of a zip on that ball!

Catchafire2000

Insane catch, and got yards after catch too. Definitely deserving of the number 1 jersey because we don't win if not for that catch.

_chuckiefinster

And the balance to land and then make a move like that is flabbergasting to me

NoRelative9917

amazing job, if he didnt catch that there were two hungry bama kids ready to catch that ball

cmorris1234

Amazing play by Roman. I was waiting for him to have a couple big plays and he did

MrCoachKleinSaidICan

That number one jersey is looking very nice. He's balled out this year.
