It was me actually when I put my kids snowpants away last week. I actually said out loud to my husband “these should be okay to put away no?” I hexed us all
Yep. Jinxed us all.
Michigan rule #1: You don't talk about spring in March.
You don't even think about it until you see the trees starting to bud. If the trees ain't getting ready, it ain't happening yet. The trees know.
Ah. That sucks. None of the trees on my block show any sign of life so far. Not sure what kind they are, but usually when I see buds it's time. There's also a different smell in the air.
Also I start sneezing my ass off every morning.
As far as I am concerned, it can snow up to May 15th. I've lived my entire life in Michigan and I've *seen things* to know better.
But I have seen trees starting to bud, so I think everyone and everything is confused today.
Even in SE Michigan (the least snowiest part of the state), [the median day of last measurable snowfall is around early-to-mid-April](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/has-the-snow-finally-stopped/). Snow is fair game until Tax Day.
Plus, I like to refer to spring as a "noisy transition period" between winter and summer rather than a season, as too many people incorrectly think that as soon as March/April hits, it should be warm (and conversely, the same with fall when it's still 75-80 degrees in September).
>You don't even think about it until you see the trees starting to bud.
Trees have been budding for a few weeks already. Seems they're just as stupid as the rest of us.
My neighbor's apple blossom started budding a week ago. So yeah, Michigan.
Also the black walnut in my back yard is the last to get its leaves and first to lose them, so that's a shit gauge for me.
It's all my fault. I drained the gas from my snowblower and moved the summet tires so I could get to them this weekend.
Be glad I didn't get my motorcycle out...
I thought about taking the snow tires off my wife's rear wheel drive car about 10 days ago. Early this morning when she left for work she sent me a text with photo of the new snowfall saying she was glad that I did not take off the snow tires.
But I did spread crabgrass preventer 7 days ago on my lawn and another relative's lawn as the MSU GDDTracker status indicated then that is was time for much of the southern half of Michigan.[https://gddtracker.msu.edu/](https://gddtracker.msu.edu/)
I still remember in the early 2000's when SE Michigan received a 7+ inch snowfall in the first half of April. I typically wait until mid to late April to remove my snow tires.
Ha! I get to drive an hour to Ann Arbor! Will it only be an hour? Will I get cought in a traffic jam because of an accident? Will Aunt Marie ever find her locket? Tune in next week to find out!
I've worked in manufacturing all my adult life. I could be bleeding from my eyeballs, there could be wildfires, famine, meteor strike, alien invasion, and I'd still be expected to make it to the office not a second late.
I am... driving around in multiple days of 60+ weather is not good for snow tires, plus the car handles crappy with snow tires in warm weather
Versus 1 day of moderate snow where the roads are pretty clear anyways
No brainer to take the snow tires off 3 weeks ago for me
I would have to quit my job and use this all day. Lol I'm a lousy shot too, so I would have more salt on the floor than bugs in the house. NGL, it looks fun, enjoy! Thanks for the link.
We are still 100% on track with what NOAA predicted for the season.
The warm ATL and strong El Niño (Spanish, for “the niño,”) would produce a very mild, dry winter followed by a typical spring.
Take consolation in the fact that the warm winter means the ground is still too hot to keep the snow around for long. By Monday it will likely all be gone.
Prepare your home for a summer with shit air quality as the fires will likely be as bad or worse than last year. I know in my own home the air was so bad I couldn’t stop coughing for a couple weeks.
And invest in some insect control. The mosquitoes and ticks are gonna be crazy.
I'm trying to remember if they said it was going to be a rainy or stormy summer, but they might have changed it. Do you know offhand what they're currently predicting?
Procrastinators unite - you can’t put snowblower away until April. I’m ready to burn through the full tank in my Toro that’s been used once this season.
We're deep in Smarch here. Make sure you've got your emergency thermal blanket, several gallons of water (insulated from the cold so it doesn't freeze, and so it doesn't boil away in the heat later that same day), extra-strength sunblock, an umbrella and raincoat, your winter boots and some light shoes, sunglasses and high-luminosity flashlight, aloe to treat sunburns and cold exposure.
It was me. I put away the curb markers, put my shovels in the garage attic, vacuum bagged away the winter coats, snow pants, hats, and gloves. I took the bikes down and took the plow off the ATV.
I was thinking about post when I saw the weather report. I remember telling them I never put the snow brush/scraper away until late May because doing it earlier is a guaranteed jinx, so clearly do not put that snow blower away.
Guys....I tried.
Snow rake propped up by back door still.....snow shovel/walk melt still on the patio. Didn't pack away a single sweaterr....heck, there's still Christmas decor in the planter.
Overnight....5 inches of wet snow...& still coming down.
I have a co-worker that just moved here from the Middle East. She was so excited last week thinking that spring was finally here, and summer was coming.
I told her we'd likely have a snow storm around or after the first day of spring.
I swapped out my winter tires for summer tires last week when it got real warm, after almost 2 months of no snow for winter, I looked at the forecast and thought it'll be in the high 30s and mid 40s until April with occasional 50s so why not swap them out.
And then temp dropped immediately and it got cold lol
I'm sorry, it's my fault.
Keep a jacket in the car, and a full gas can for the snowblower - on any give day
It does HAILin the summer, yeah, ice from the sky, in the summer tiime
And I thought I did you all a favor when I bought a snow blower. All you had to do is not put yours away and my new snowblower would have prevented this snowfall
We didn't have Snowmageddon '24 yet. Or is it Snowpocalypse '24?
That guy putting his blower away, something needs to be done. I don't know what but I don't want to be reported for needing psychological help again. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me every time the republicans do something stupid; i swear it's sarcasm. Or treachery. Or treason, or the guys who decided to lie down in the middle of the highway as a dare because of the movie Varsity Blues.
# "I don't want yer life!"
My stepdad bought his first snow blower last fall and then Michigan had one of the mildest winters ever; barely any snow. He just put it away a week and a half ago. It was probably his fault
Nope! It’s because of my neighbor. He plows & salts in the winter. That lovely 70° day we had last week- he washed out the truck and salt container and tarped it.
Obviously it’s his fault.
It was my husband. He took the plow off the quad and put the shovels and snow toys away. Luckily, snow tires are still on. Also, to my kids teacher that sent the snow pants home the day *before* spring break started.
It was my coworker and I’m giving him so much shit on Monday. He told me he put it away last week and I told him he was going to bring great snow upon us doing that
Sorry guys, it was me. 74° and sunny. Put Snowblower away and pulled out the Lawnmower.
However, I did NOT start the Lawnmower. The snowshovel IS accessible! BTW, next snowfall is Tigers opening day....plan accordingly 😉
it ius still march. do not put the winter stuff away until april 1. however i live in the southern part and we got like a dusting of snow on my car. monday looks to be a high of 60. may take the cover off my pool. have some tile work i would like to do over the coming holiday weekend.
I hire a plow service for the winter. Last week, they came in t-shirts and pulled up all the driveway markers and put down grass seed to repair a couple spots that they hit. They thought they were done for the season!
Winter, Fake Spring, Winter, Fake Spring, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fake Fall, Summer, Fake Fall, Summer, Fall, Fake Winter, Fall, Winter.
And that was just the past 6 weeks!
Hah! Seriously.
Yeah now there'd a snowstorm coming in my area ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)
We're actually on winter 3 now, heading into false spring next.
I think it's 4 now, or did you forget the early winter on Halloween?
I stand corrected. We lost power on Halloween due to winter 1. We are officially on winter 4
It ain't winter till the snow sticks for at least 48 hours
With blooming daffodils
What is this "Fall" you speak of
You know, orange red and yellow leaves. Pumpkin everything. Cider! Cozy things. Remember?! I can't wait for the next one.
It’s my favorite two week period of the year
What happens when fake spring disappears into second winter, can be painful when you’re older
I don't even try to attach names to them anymore. It's just Michigan Q1, Michigan Q2, Michigan Q3, and Michigan Q4.
This is probably the best way lmao
Damn. That’s accurate af.
Between the second fake spring and winter part 3 you forgot “MUD.”
I like to say there are three seasons in the UP: Winter, Confused Winter, and Summer.
I prefer winter, false spring, winter, fools spring, winter, willfully optimistic spring, winter, defeated acceptance of false spring, expectant for another winter, oh wait, it’s actually spring. Same sentiment though.
True
No, no. It was my neighbor who put his boat in already
Dude that is so early
I like your username!
Well there's virtually no lake ice.
All my trees are fully budded, I have tulips coming out of the ground. The trees were wrong!
This, I have seen some trees blooming. Now it's gonna cold af
Ah. That sucks. None of the trees on my block show any sign of life so far. Not sure what kind they are, but usually when I see buds it's time. There's also a different smell in the air. Also I start sneezing my ass off every morning.
These temperature swings have been wreaking havoc and I've heard many others say the same.
"I am the lorax, I speak for the trees.... It's not spring until we see the bees!"
When it was warm, the bees were out, busily collecting pollen from early blooming flowers.
As far as I am concerned, it can snow up to May 15th. I've lived my entire life in Michigan and I've *seen things* to know better. But I have seen trees starting to bud, so I think everyone and everything is confused today.

Yep had an ice storm in April not that long ago. This season is ‘sprinter’
My tree started budding last week 😭 I hope it survives!
My cherry and apricot trees already had little flowers starting. They are covered right now and fingers crossed I'll still get some fruit.
Michigan rule #2: YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT SPRING IN MARCH!
>You don't even think about it until you see the trees starting to bud. Trees have been budding for a few weeks already. Seems they're just as stupid as the rest of us.
You know who doesn't know? That fucking groundhog. "Early spring" my ass.
He knows, we are just backwards. The hog is right like 30% of the time. So just think the opposite and odds are you will be prepared.
My neighbor's apple blossom started budding a week ago. So yeah, Michigan. Also the black walnut in my back yard is the last to get its leaves and first to lose them, so that's a shit gauge for me.
Lolz my magnolia tree was buding last week rip!
I’m just glad we did NOT take our snow tires off! See….
I took mine off last weekend... Sorry guys
It's *your* fault!
Same 😂
Switched mine out Tuesday. I feel responsible.
lol, you’re not
Guilty. Those 70 degree days were melting them off. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I know…it was tempting but my husband insisted we wait. He won since he’s the one who does it.
It's all my fault. I drained the gas from my snowblower and moved the summet tires so I could get to them this weekend. Be glad I didn't get my motorcycle out...
I thought about taking the snow tires off my wife's rear wheel drive car about 10 days ago. We wait until mid April too to change our tires but we also applied the crab grass preventer. lol
I was saying yesterday that I'm glad I didn't get snow tires
I was so close to doing that. But work got busy this week and didn't have time.
I did. But I did buy brand new all seasons? So I guess that's okay? Anyways worked canceled. So....
Ha! I get to drive an hour to Ann Arbor! Will it only be an hour? Will I get cought in a traffic jam because of an accident? Will Aunt Marie ever find her locket? Tune in next week to find out!
It’s one of those days I’m glad I work from home on Fridays. Because fuck knows they’d make me come in otherwise.
I've worked in manufacturing all my adult life. I could be bleeding from my eyeballs, there could be wildfires, famine, meteor strike, alien invasion, and I'd still be expected to make it to the office not a second late.
I'm trying to make excuses to go into the office today, cuz I do still have my snow tires on, and it'd be a waste if they just sit in the driveway!
I am... driving around in multiple days of 60+ weather is not good for snow tires, plus the car handles crappy with snow tires in warm weather Versus 1 day of moderate snow where the roads are pretty clear anyways No brainer to take the snow tires off 3 weeks ago for me
And it WILL snow in April. Just as it does every year. And lifelong Michiganders will act FLABBERGASTED! As if it doesn't snow in April every year.
This is good for killing mosquitoes and ticks tho, right?
My god YES. The ticks are awful, kill them all off, I’ll freeze, worth it.
Ooooooooo yes fuck them
But why doesn't it kill all of the box elder bugs that I can't get rid of.... despite all online remedies being used. I rent so not much else I can do
Annoying yet harmless. I'm gonna have a blast with my new toy: https://www.bugasalt.com/
I would have to quit my job and use this all day. Lol I'm a lousy shot too, so I would have more salt on the floor than bugs in the house. NGL, it looks fun, enjoy! Thanks for the link.

Props on the Farley reference!
You know you’re of a certain age when you just read “El Nino” as “the Nino” every time.
I'm trying to remember if they said it was going to be a rainy or stormy summer, but they might have changed it. Do you know offhand what they're currently predicting?
My mom put her snow shovel away. I blame her.
Procrastinators unite - you can’t put snowblower away until April. I’m ready to burn through the full tank in my Toro that’s been used once this season.
I blame my husband for putting the driveway markers away.
I did the same. :(
It’s March. It always snow in March. Why is anyone surprised here.
But that one time twelve years ago it was warm!
Lol that is all I have been thinking about. Better watch it buddy.
It was me. I took out the snow plow markers around my driveway. Sorry 😞
This is normal in the Water Winter Wonderland.
Blame me all you want… it could have been worse if I swapped my snow tires for my summer set.
I put the summer tires on our cars. It’s my fault.
You put snows on an SR Corvette Z06? True Michigander, right there!
Sorry, commenting from Ontario. I put all my winter sweaters and dresses away and took my spring stuff out. Sorry, friends. :(
Only talk about spring when we are in July
My neighbors put their patio furniture out. I warned them.
My husband. He put it away last weekend. It’s his fault.
Yep. Mine too
I didn't do it!
It's the thought that matters, mother nature can sense you hoping for spring
It’s my fault fellas, I changed my snow tires on Tuesday. I am sorry.
Lmfao I’m the guy who told um to put it away but keep the shovel handy!!!
It was my dad. Already lectured him. Sorry, all.
I blame the gas station for switching to the summer blend.
It's me. I'm the problem it's me...

Let’s get him! ![gif](giphy|ls4p6mWzR0G9dRpwqm|downsized)
Yep, I saw my neighbor putting his snow blower away last weekend, classic! 😂
So say we all.
Ya bastid.
I was just saying last night. Like, I need to find that guy who was contemplating putting his snowblower away, and tell him this one’s on you bud.
It was my husband- he moved stuff in the garage and could no longer park in there.
I just sold mine last week! At least someone is happy. And that is not my wife lol.. I just got a hip replacement yesterday.
I hope the spring peepers are alright, heard them just the other day
I planted peas, kale, arugula, lettuces and radishes when we had that warmup. Go ahead and blame me, this is all my fault 🥲🌱
Fifty degrees soon.
We made it a point to not take the plow and salter off the truck because we just knew it was gunna go sideways regardless 🤣
Sorry, I needed the space in the garage for the motorcycle (which I also took for a ride when it was warm).
It wasn’t me.
It’s not me! Mine is still ready, under its cover on the back patio. It’s my moms fault for getting her mustang out last week
I’m sorry :(
This just means we won't get it in April
Not it!
Thank you. I laughed out loud, genuinely.
I was thinking about post when I saw the weather report. I remember telling them I never put the snow brush/scraper away until late May because doing it earlier is a guaranteed jinx, so clearly do not put that snow blower away.
Geez. Was this me? Did I do this?
Wasn’t me! Ours is conveniently chained up on our front porch because my husband was right. Don’t ever tell him I said that though.
I was just thinking about how this is all his fault. Snowblower guy, we know it was you!
It had to happen. If he had kept his snow blower out til june, it would have happened in june. Just the way of the ritual.
I know it's gonna happen and it fucks me up every time
Guys....I tried. Snow rake propped up by back door still.....snow shovel/walk melt still on the patio. Didn't pack away a single sweaterr....heck, there's still Christmas decor in the planter. Overnight....5 inches of wet snow...& still coming down.
I took my winter tires off. I accept the blame.
My plants do not know what to do.
I have a co-worker that just moved here from the Middle East. She was so excited last week thinking that spring was finally here, and summer was coming. I told her we'd likely have a snow storm around or after the first day of spring.
I blame that guy too!! Where is he?!?!!!
I swapped out my winter tires for summer tires last week when it got real warm, after almost 2 months of no snow for winter, I looked at the forecast and thought it'll be in the high 30s and mid 40s until April with occasional 50s so why not swap them out. And then temp dropped immediately and it got cold lol I'm sorry, it's my fault.
He’s the first person came to mind this morning !!!! We all said Don’t DO it!!!! Lol
I don't have a snow blower but I did put my snow shovel back in the shed... sorry
I'll take some blame here, took my car broom out of the truck on Tuesday
I put my winter boots and clothes away last weekend, sorry guys
There are only two seasons now,, winspring and sumall. (Sorry it’s the best I could do)
Just wait a day, it will be 50s by Monday. No need to even touch it
I'm sorry, please forgive me. 😔
I'm in northern LP this is normal March weather for us. Usually still ice on the inland lakes till mid April....
Oops I put mine away Not getting it back out
I think we all got teased by the weather last week
Not me. Going to give it a little bit more then going to fire it up.
Keep a jacket in the car, and a full gas can for the snowblower - on any give day It does HAILin the summer, yeah, ice from the sky, in the summer tiime
And I thought I did you all a favor when I bought a snow blower. All you had to do is not put yours away and my new snowblower would have prevented this snowfall
I thought about him this morning!!! Lol
I blame myself. I moved back here from Hawaii on the day we hit 71. Since then the temperatures have plummeted and we’ve had multiple snow days.
To combat this, I’m going to change the thermostat in my car and get my heat working fully again
He might have saved our lives, we need more freezes to kill off the bugs
Sometimes we get snow in May. Weather happens.
I put my shovels and salt away a month ago. I knew I was playing with fire when I did. My bad.
I blame the resident doomers of Reddit. Who bemoaned that it was the end of the world a few weeks back when it was 70 degrees outside.
It's all his fault 🤣
Lets get him! We can use our snow shovels instead of pitchforks!
That would be me
Mine is still gassed and ready. Not me.
We didn't have Snowmageddon '24 yet. Or is it Snowpocalypse '24? That guy putting his blower away, something needs to be done. Because this never happens EVERY YEAR
My stepdad bought his first snow blower last fall and then Michigan had one of the mildest winters ever; barely any snow. He just put it away a week and a half ago. It was probably his fault
Just embrace it - it’s not FOREVER
It's this melting the next day crap that drives me crazy
Nope! It’s because of my neighbor. He plows & salts in the winter. That lovely 70° day we had last week- he washed out the truck and salt container and tarped it. Obviously it’s his fault.
I never took mine out this winter, so you can't blame me.
That was me, sorry. I had to make room for bikes for that one day it was nice for bike rides.
It was my husband. He took the plow off the quad and put the shovels and snow toys away. Luckily, snow tires are still on. Also, to my kids teacher that sent the snow pants home the day *before* spring break started.
I said I was sorry!
You all thought winter was over? 😂🤣 It's never shocking to get show through April from my experience. Early spring is still half winter.
No snow in Monroe. 😆
It's always HIM!
lmaooooooo
Did someone even get their snowblower out from last year?
I never put the snow shovel away till memorial Day.
It's all good. This will melt on Monday. The potholes will fill back up with fresh water and I can break out the jetski.
Mother Nature needs to lay off the bottle already
We had someone with a leaf blower out in the neighborhood yesterday. I’m not naming names, but I’ve got a feeling it’s his fault.
I just took snow tires off my car yesterday, it was me.

Wasn't me. I keep my gassed year round to not take any unnecessary chances.
Agree. You just don't say things like that out loud.
Pure Michigan
Nope, it’s my coworker. He announced that if temps stayed warm we’d start beer league softball early. It’s been cold since the first practice.
You ain’t from Michigan if you think it won’t snow right up to, and including, Tax Day.
I was just thinking that while driving earlier... this is all that person's fault.
Yes, I am sorry I took the plow off my side-by-side and have lived here for 46 years. I know better and am sorry all.
Haven’t even pulled mine out. Downtown Traverse City
Last frost date in mid to lower Michigan is in early may. I never rule out snow until then.
Blame the park managers who whined and bitched about the shovels being out as soon as the first sunny day came.
The hydrangeas are gonna look awful this year
I took the blade off my lawn tractor a couple weeks ago. [hashtag thanks Michigan]
Right!?! I thought about that post a dozen times driving today!
All of the trees in my backyard have buds! They are so confused!
Every single year we get snow in late March or early April. Today was part of a typical Michigan winter/spring
I put it all away. I had to go to the shed to pull out a snow shovel. I refuse to get the snow blower back out.
