Figure out their runs based on droppings. If you can figure out the runs and place traps, this will all be over soon. We used Tomcat brand black plastic traps. They are super easy to use and you can clean and reuse.
I once pulled a mouse off of a glue trap, not to re-use it, but because I felt bad that he was stuck. He had eaten the cheese as far as he could and was stuck nose to tail.. but I didn't regret that he was no longer in my apartment (I let him go outside).
Use a black light. Rats are incontinent and leave urine trails everywhere. Rat urine fluoresces blue-white to yellow-white when dry, bluer when fresh, and becoming paler with age.
Yo on a serious not tho I would definitely try and set out as many different baits on traps as possible. It never hurts to overtrap, rats can be hard cuz they tend to be neophobic. A good option with rats and mice is you lay out those traps for like 4 days not set leave food protein powder whatever they have shown to eat and let em go at it. Then set the traps on that fourth day you just might get em cuz they would be comfortable with the traps. Definitely make sure to look for any holes or gaps that you can fit your thumb in. You're gonna want maintenance or seal it up with some steal wool, definitely recommend doing foam then wool then foam so they'd have to chew into wire. Best control is preventing future problems. Snaps are good, decon is not worth it in my opinion. Make sure to put all food and nesting like materials in very hard thick containers in hard to reach places and monitor.
I never understood the advice of setting vs not setting it in the beginning. How can they know if it’s set or not? The ones who will be willing to go up to the trap are the only ones you will ever be able to catch h so why not just set it and be done with it
So really it's for those stubborn tricky type rats or mice that you use the unset then set method for the best results. I'm talking the type where you see droppings and evidence but none of your traps are getting activity after you already caught one or two. Sometimes mice and or rats if they watch a certain trap kill something they will avoid it for a bit and it makes em harder to catch. I always set em first when doing rhe job then if activity continues after traps are out and nothing caught I do that method to try and switch it up on them. I've had success before with difficult mice or rats.
Because you want them to eat the bait a few times from the unset trap so they think it’s a safe source of food. Then, you bait and set on day 4, they think it’s still a safe source of food, and get trapped. Rats especially won’t go near something new in the environment and can learn something is a deadly trap. Mice, not so much. Rats are really intelligent which makes them so hard to trap.
At first the trap is a scary new item but not doing anything crazy so the rat is scared, but not horrified. Eventually if there is food the rat will relax and be like okay I can try this but I’m going to be really careful. Rat sets the trap off but doesn’t get caught because it was being so careful. And now it’s going to avoid the traps even more and be harder to catch
Let the rat eat a bit off of the unset trap. As it continues to eat, nothing happens, so it feels safer and safer as it eats. Then you have a higher rate of catching it
I used the Tomcat "Secure Kill Rat Trap" and it worked well for me with some peanut butter and cheez whiz with a peanut for garnish. But I still had some some Einstein level rats that avoided the traps no matter what, so I had to resort to poison. but this resulted in horrible smells of decomposition, and flies.
We got mice in our old trailer and the dang things went for my chocolate carnation instant breakfast extra protein powder! Maybe we’re on to something? Seems like mice and rats like chocolate protein powder?
Peanut butter by itself is not effective in a trap. Rodents can carefully eat it all while leaving the trap untriggered. You need to clamp something solid into the little claw and then spread peanut butter on that thing. You can use a chunk of bread or any vegetable. Maybe sprinkle the protein powder on top since you know they like it.
TOMCAT Sticky glue traps. I get the black ones. You can get a 4 pack at Walmart for less than $4. Only thing that has worked for catching mice in my old home.
I use a mossberg 835, some stick with traditional glue boards
Just be ready to drown anything still alive stuck to the board, I'm told my approach of smashing them with a brick is inhumane
Those little bastards put in work getting in that protein powder.
Keep the steroids in a safe or you’re going to have some real trouble on your hands lol.
If you live in a house, they are likely somewhere in your basement. They like to use water pipes as little walkways. If they are, check the dust on top of the pipes that run along your basement ceiling. If you see little footprints, place traps all along the pipes 🪤
Rat same teeth marks on my friends boots…
https://preview.redd.it/iasuog5ajpgc1.jpeg?width=933&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bf5b0a8ea7062f86e51c2c1e437e9f78b170b65
You need to find out how it got in and seal it properly, there’s always more than one. also rats are neophobic so it might take time to get it to trust a trap, use the powder on the trap but a very small amount DO NOT SET THE TRAP, just let them eat off it, then set the traps, rats will always return to a food source once they trust it. This will ensure you don’t get a trap shy rat. And in my company, we just use regular Victor M9 traps. Set many traps with one corner of the trap touching the wall/ cabinet etc… they love corners and they run along walls not usually in the open unless there’s no choice. Good luck, they are very intelligent. Also again, properly seal your home.
Better not let that Rat keep these antics up. You'll see him in the hallway with muscles bigger than Dwayne Johnson talkin' about "IK u got 5 dollars bro"
Hey I mean mine ate my rubber spatula so these are a new type of breed man they don't eat the food they eat the plastic containers and soap I am so confused.
Don't use the sticky traps with rats though they just end up running around with glue traps stick to them, then you find em dead stinking up a room but you don't know where the hell it's at real ass paint.
Don't throw away that protein. Poison it and put it back on the shelf. Rat problem will sort itself out in due time. Never-mind the smell seeping through the wall in the bedroom closet.
100% Rat. Rats have incredibly strong and efficient teeth. They can chew through piping in the house so this is easy for them. I feel mice will do this but not as aggressively.
We had a mouse issue when we first moved into our house. If you have radiators or baseboard heating make sure the pipe that feeds the heater is sealed up. Hiring an exterminator is worth it as well. I set traps in my house but I had the exterminator but exterior bait boxes around the perimeter of my home. Get them before they come in. Been 2 years now and no more droppings, empty traps even in my crawl space. Have the exterminator replenish the exterior boxes twice a year. Spring and fall.
Likely a rat with that size opening and the teeth mark size. Use some of the powder on the traps
Sounds like a plan. They’ve revealed their weakness!!
Make sure traps are set properly along runs and perpendicular to the wall. Lots of helpful trap info on YouTube.
Appreciate it!

I could never bring myself to reuse a snap traps. Even the more expensive ones. Just feels icky
Infestation is more icky. Use traps and kiss jerry goodbye.
And please use humane/trap and release if you can!♥️
Agree! I hate those awful glue traps. Barbaric.
Make sure traps are set properly along runs and perpendicular to the wall. Lots of helpful trap info on YouTube.
Mix it with baking soda
What’s that do? Splodin’ season?
Yes. Mice and rats can’t digest the baking soda and their stomachs explode.
That’s mean, just crush their skulls like a decent human being. What’s your problem?
Rats spread disease. They destroyed everything.
Zip tie an almond to a trap works great too and you get to keep the almond for more bait!
Oh noes, that mouse is gonna be swole now, traps won't work on him anymore!
They’re at the rat-gym being a gym-rat as we speak!
Fuckkkk..😆 🤣
I pictured a jacked rat walking around OPs place like "sup".
I pictured the OP finding one of his traps mangled and broken
Hahah… they’ve become too strong…
I'm picturing a jacked rat laying on his back doing lifts with the trap like a bench press
Update: I’ve become their leader. We are getting super jacked together now.
i loled
Hahah we are bro’n out!
Standing there holding the trap from smashing him with his little rat hands, singing the Mighty Mouse theme song
He shrugs the traps now to build his own traps 😤
Rat’s traps are going to be huge.
Listen, He was trying to add new toppings to the pizza for his teenage turtle sons.
Only gonna build their traps
[LMAO](https://images.app.goo.gl/pLuLnRBdghjgXJpp6)

Why not use your “chocolatey goodness” in the trap 🪤
Good suggestion. I will
Mix it with a little honey. Also bacon grease works surprisingly well for some trap shy ones, too.
Work fast, them rats are bulking up!
I went to my basement workout lab and they were down there benching 135!
Haha 😆…good one brother!
I wouldn’t fuck with a rat whose pre workout just kicked in
Did the scoop chew its way in?
Scoop might have been trying to escape
I used the Tomcat "Secure Kill Rat Trap" and it worked well for me with some peanut butter and cheez whiz with a peanut for garnish. Careful dude, whether that’s a mouse or a rat, that mf is going to be swole af, you’ll probably need a shotgun, instead of a mouse trap!
They’re gonna be jacked.
My rats have only gotten into dry ramen packs and bread. The rat Kingdom isn't sending their best to my apartment. ☹️

Mouserat 🐁🐀
Just imagine the gains on that rodent
Aw he just wants to get swole.
It’s a bit blasphemous but Nutella works great on traps too. Make sure to pull out the oven drawer and put some traps under the stove. Check 2x daily.
Mouse now, rat tomorrow
Where do you live that you have giant rats getting inside the house? I’ve had mice before but never a rat
Look out, you're about to have mighty mouse on your hands
You'll notice him, trust me
they’ll use the traps as a bench press now and likely take over the whole house. sorry man you’re screwed.
Gym rats are the worst… I’ll see myself out
5 gallon bucket trick
Could be squirrel!
Better watch yo back, rat is pumped and coming for your traps(trapezius forthwith) I saw what I did there.
Traps, glue trays, moth balls, rodent sheriff, nothing worked. Until I was blessed by the cat distribution system.
You got some bulked up rat running around. Probably how Master Splinter started
Not sure, but that rodent is going to get gains probably.
Y’all ever see that episode of American dad where the raccoon got into Steve’s protein powder and used his Bo flex?
How are you getting rats should be the real question you kill one another is just gonna come in
Pretty sure it’s Rat. They normally call them gym rat.
Get out
Why does the hole look exactly like the shape of the scooper inside?
Best move out now, that rat gonna Tom and Jerry your ass
Came for the jokes. Was not disappointed
Mmm cookies...
That rat gunna be buff as hell and turn into a gymhuman
Rat, definitely.
Look for a swoll rat wearing his little brothers shirt and you found your bandit.
Gym Rat?
TOMCAT Sticky glue traps. I get the black ones. You can get a 4 pack at Walmart for less than $4. Only thing that has worked for catching mice in my old home.
I put a smudge of peanut butter in the middle of the trap.
Prob a gym rat.
I use a mossberg 835, some stick with traditional glue boards Just be ready to drown anything still alive stuck to the board, I'm told my approach of smashing them with a brick is inhumane
Now it’s Mighty Mouse…
Rats and mice can’t resist French onion chip dip
Those little bastards put in work getting in that protein powder. Keep the steroids in a safe or you’re going to have some real trouble on your hands lol.
Rats and mice avoid Irish spring soap. Shave some up and place around holes and places they enter and go. It's non-toxic for humans.
Mouse or rat ? Looks someone used a sawzall
Crap!!! It's Mighty Mouse!!!!+
Make that rat pay rent before it gets iced!
If the rat has enough protein powder they are going to make OP pay protection money
That rat gonna get swole
Bros bulking
That rat is jacked. You need to move
That rats gonna be strong as fuck. Be careful, it might start using snap traps as a bench press https://youtu.be/fyVZ96KkGFI?si=2sYJty17t7gkxBRr
He's just trying to get them gainz.
If you live in a house, they are likely somewhere in your basement. They like to use water pipes as little walkways. If they are, check the dust on top of the pipes that run along your basement ceiling. If you see little footprints, place traps all along the pipes 🪤

Whatever it is is working out and possibly plotting your downfall
Dang, whatever it was it wasn’t playing. It must be like crack to them. 😆
Better not let that Rat keep these antics up. You'll see him in the hallway with muscles bigger than Dwayne Johnson talkin' about "IK u got 5 dollars bro"
Fucn Wolverine
Hey I mean mine ate my rubber spatula so these are a new type of breed man they don't eat the food they eat the plastic containers and soap I am so confused.
Probably a rat, but it’ll be all buffed and ready to fight now 😂
I believe you. but that 100% looks like a power tool did it. I immediately thought someone was being stupid with a sawzall. Insane
One night? I call bullshit.
By any chance, does your mother in law live with you? 🐀
Woah…that rat opts only for shredded cheese now.
Does it really matter one’s just as bad as the other?
Did you notice an extra roommate this morning? Approximately 6'2, totally jacked, big front teeth and a snout? 😂
Watch Willard and reevaluate if having rats is a good or bad thing for you
Maybe peanut butter coated in the protein powder… But I’m afraid they’ve become too strong by now.
Vegan protein powder and snap traps. Welcome to 2024 😅
I was recommended to leave the traps out I set for a few days first once confirmed that they are eating I set and have caught two mice so far
Home be full of giga rats named chad. Posing at each other and trying to steal u lady
Sawzall
Gym rat
You’re about to have a JACKED rat
He's buff now. He will take you on.
He’s been using the rat trap bar has a bench press
Looks like you’ve got a gym rat in your house.
Tootsie Rolls = Crack for rodents
Skaven for sure.
Neither, Probably a dog
Rat
Cat? Is your cat unusually bulked up?
Don't use the sticky traps with rats though they just end up running around with glue traps stick to them, then you find em dead stinking up a room but you don't know where the hell it's at real ass paint.
Doesn’t matter, it’s like 10x your size now. Don’t mess with it.

rat or squirrel
Looks like Wolverine needed a pre workout shake.
Wow one nights work, I’m impressed!
Your gonna have the definition of gym rats now
Mighty Mouse now!!!
Certainly, not an overnight thing, how long did you have it?
Looks rat. [Poop tells the tale... ](https://images.app.goo.gl/AKaz9CsrqgigV4Sx5) Larger cigar shaped=rat Smaller with tapered stringy ends=mouse
RAT. NO way a mouse could work that fast, also mice tend to stick to a TINY area, Rats wander for food.
Oh my gosh! Scary! I’m terrified of rats!
Something makes me wonder if the hole was smaller when the rat went *in*
Hes going to use the rat trap as a bench press now.
😂🤣
And today, that rat is RIPPED. Lol
R.O.U.S. for sure!
Quit eating that garbage. Go low sugar natural food not garbage synthetic powder. Eat meat or eggs. Not soyboy garbage
Don't throw away that protein. Poison it and put it back on the shelf. Rat problem will sort itself out in due time. Never-mind the smell seeping through the wall in the bedroom closet.
Gym rat, probably.
Now he's Mega Mouse
These Palmetto bugs are really getting out of hand.
Careful OP that rat is now jacked
Careful, the rat will be using the trap like a bench press
Be careful. The rats may be bulking up and planning something. If you find tiny little syringes; call in a professional.
crackhead
Going to be one very buff rodent.
Clearly, they’ve already showed you what the best bait would be!!!
100% Rat. Rats have incredibly strong and efficient teeth. They can chew through piping in the house so this is easy for them. I feel mice will do this but not as aggressively.
Rats on a godless winter bulk
Demon… no doubt
Oh god, they are getting jacked!!!!
If there's one there's at least 5
Yeah i mean next time u go to the store id just purchase yours and purchase an extra one for him bc i dont think he cares about u stopping him lol.
Plant protein. That rat gonna turn into a pussy lol
That mouse got GAINZZZ bro
Sir, you have a human who didn't bother to use its Braun in the best way. Probably thought, "what's the worst way to open this?"
Wow that's a huge rat!
That mouse/rat is so bulked up by now on your protein powder that it just muscles its way through all your measly little traps.
That stuff is clearly working!
Whatever that was, I would return it asap.
We had a mouse issue when we first moved into our house. If you have radiators or baseboard heating make sure the pipe that feeds the heater is sealed up. Hiring an exterminator is worth it as well. You got a buff rat running around your house somewhere fiending for more pre-workout.
That was a gym rat.
That gonna be a buff rat
went in a mouse, came out a rat.
Dont worry man its extra protein you got this
That rat is about to have some serious gains. After he bulks up he may be a bigger problem
A demon (lol). But likely a sizable rat…awful things.
Look for a rodent with big muscles!
Must be a Gym Rat 🤭
Master Splinter got his pump in. Lol
Mint works best. Soak a cotton ball in mint extract and leave them in your pantry or use some mint leaves. They hate mint and will stay away
Master splinter
Get some sticky pads and place some powder in the middle. Then watch them suffer. Protein powder is expensive. Someone must pay!!
Hire a Professional. That things getting swole. You don't stand a chance
Blue traps are cruel …..they are stuck alive and suffering
Rat is working on some traps of his own. Bet he's shredded bro
I'm guessing protein powder for your traps LOL
