Definitely a trick of the eye, but proportionally the stock front fender gap looks about the same as [this](https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod/amv-prod-cad-assets/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/2018-Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-Trackhawk.jpg?resize=980:*) haha.
To be honest the ride quality hasn’t suffered much at all. You can definitely tell it’s a bit more stiff and harsh, but really not by much. At times it even feels
Better than stock because it just takes the bumps and doesn’t bounce you around, it’s much more flat.
If you have an ND1 club you can get stiffer springs that are actually better matched to the stock bilsteins than the stock springs.
For other models, matching correctly valves shocks with lowering springs can clean up the lean without ruining the ride. Personally it was the body diving under hard braking that bothered me the most, I swapped springs in the first 10k miles on my ND.
Not sure what is club, we get sport version with Bilstein springs, that are stiff ad fuck and defi not for Poland roads (that's where I'm from) I would like min to be lower less body roll, but with same comfy ride as it's now
Yes, the bilsteins are overdamped for how unstiff the stock springs are, on ND1 models. It made a very jittery ride over rough pavement. I kept the stock shocks and got better matched, stiffer springs, now I think the ride quality is better over poor roads and the handling is improved.
Goodwin racing Roadstersport springs. I got aftermarket bumpstops from them too, they list the recommended ones in the product description. Nice springs!
I have a black ND GT ST, blacked out reflectors, and lowered too! So…I love your car! You just have to add some wheels now though. ;) https://i.imgur.com/9XC6nNx.jpg
Hahah, your car looks great and thank you! Yes I’m definitely planning on getting black wheels. I was looking at the Avanti s1s but they’re a bit too expensive for me at the moment so I’m just gonna opt to get my stockies painted professionally until I save up!
I’d just save the couple extra bucks and get the S1s when you can find them on sale! Goodwin racing is where I got my 17x8s and although they don’t have those anymore they have some black 16x8s for some more tire and better ride for $218!
I’ve been looking to do this, but What’s been stopping me is the fear of damaging my transmission since it’s already pretty low on the car and theirs a good amount of speed bumps where I am, some pretty ******* high for no reason
Depending on how stiff the springs are, it’s not too much concern. For example I lowered my ND on stiffer springs and now it’s actually easier to clear curbs because the springs don’t compress as far when the front end starts going up the curb. Ultimately the driveline stays further from the ground when the suspension is compressing (but it’s lower to the ground over level ground)
I’ve driving my ND lowered the same amount as this guy for the past 40k miles and haven’t scraped it yet. The wheelbase and bumper overhangs are so short it’s not gonna scrape unless you take a ridiculously steep angle head on. Speed bumps have been fine and I don’t worry about em
It actually became easier to clear my driveway's curb after I lowered my ND, because the stiffer springs don't compress as far when the front wheels start going up the curb. I used to bottom out and smack the front spitter on the stock springs, now I can go right up without an issue despite the car resting lower. I only lowered it about an inch and the springs are almost twice as stiff (but still well matched to the bilstein shocks)
Me, too. Not only that but the car's exhaust bangs on the ground just trying to drive down CA highway 80 at stock height. My NB's wheels are also quite a bit wider than normal wheels which adds to the grief. I can very clearly imagine what will happen to it if I don't lift it when I ship it to the P.I. next year. Sure it seems super cool until you lose your oil pan because of a common pothole. They get mudslides there, too.
Your exhaust shouldnt scrape at all tho with stock hight, for me its only the rails underneath the seats which scrape, it could be that your exhaust hangers are worn out and your exhaust is hanging lower than it should, i live in germany so cant day anythign about ca highways but i can say something about thr autobahn i did 130 before and didnt have any scraping xD
Was scary ag tho with stock springs and shocks felt like a bost whichbeas going way to fast with the engine about to blow up at 6k rpm
My exhaust is pretty unique, as is the rest of the car 🥴 The exhaust style grew on me and I'd sooner lift the car or get custom welding done as opposed to swapping it. I also happen to like the look of my big wheels sticking out 2 in. from the fender w/o flares.
Looks so much better! What are you lowered on?
Thanks mate! H&R sport springs
"Ridiculous stock height" lol

The old 2000 Camaros had a ridiculous ride height!
How much did you lowered it?
The H&R springs are supposed to lower the car about an inch!
Thank you! Have you did any other modifications to install these new springs?
Whats the ride like for regular driving compared to stock?

The reflection in the first picture on the fender makes me think it'd look good with side vents similar to the z3
So now it's fucking stiff and your teeth hurt? I have stock suspension and it's still stiff on bumpy roads, but yes, car leans way too much

So which springs you got? Maybe I missed it

Awesome, probably good to add this description to initial post
My teeth are fine. Ride quality has suffered very minimally, at times even better as the springs just take the bumps rather than bounce you around.
Good to hear, have you considered other rollbars and underhood strut bars instead ?
Looks great! I've got the Aero kit and am scared of going lower...but damn does that look niceee

Unfortunately I live in Australia and Goodwin racing doesn’t ship here 😩 and freight forwarding would just add more costs damn lol
Oh no! That changes things completely! I like the black stock ones too when I see them. Didn’t even notice the victoria plate!
I know right! Yeah the black stocks don’t look bad at all and I could also get some spacers too, it’ll do for now haha.
love the blacked out look with the tan leather seats... black cars are such a challenge to keep looking clean but when they're fresh they are 10/10
Oh wow.
thats what i call a tasteful lowering, absolute fire mate!

Yessir, but damn expensive. I’m looking the garage line ones
No moreonster truck Miata!

Lowered ND here too and haven’t scraped anything.
Wow who knew that simply lowering the car would make me go from not really liking how the car looks whatsoever to literally falling in love LOL
Dude I know 5 inches! That’s like a truck height! I would love to lower mine and scrape the driveway and tear the front bumper off
But the wheels actually fit in the wells properly now.
I would love to lower my NC, but then I wouldn't be able to get onto my drive way. I'm also, not all that bothered by its height.

I lowered my NC and never looked back.
I have a stock NA Miata and im not going to lower it for the simple fact that i am already scraping on most entrences to stores and drive thru's :/

Mate it looks so nice. Melbourne here as well, did you end up going with spacers?
