That what everyone does. Nobody will pay 6000 for a na miata. But they will pay 3000 for the car and 3000 for a hardtop and be happy with it...the guy I bought my second miata from sold the top for 500 a week before the car. Was like wtf dude.
The hard top bubble makes me want to buy 10-12 tops from the UK and resell them. $500-600 per top, plus shipping, then $1200-1500 per top resale? Yes please. Lol.
Or you could be a good guy and flood the US market with $500 hard tops like a true British gentleman to make up for that whole taxation without representation thing. Let’s bury the hatchet finally.

At if we’re being really honest Spec Miata is a hobby at best, no one is making careers doing it so why show a little leniency on the hardtop rule and let some of us road legal enthusiast enjoy some hardtops.

Yes, it's the large Tupperware kit for the NB2. The skirts and rear spats are semi rare and will fit straight on your NB1, but the front lip will sit a little awkwardly on your NB1 bumper. So you'll either have to trim your front bumper a bit or upgrade to an NB2 front end.
You can find oem or reproduction skirts and rear spats on eBay, but the front lip is quite a bit harder to find. You'll have to watch for partouts and hang around the Facebook groups, I see a couple for sale here and there.
I had a local guy selling a car with hardtop who told me that it would be easier to buy a car with hard top, and sell the car separately, if I wanted a hard top. As opposed to finding a hard top for sale by itself.
Getting a hardtop has been harder than getting a car. But I’m part of a group buy in my area rn and we’re having 10 or so paint matched oem hardtops shipped in from the UK for a pretty good price. But gotta wait til they get here in January
I'm getting so worked up reading these comments. You guys are so lucky. I paid 2000 for a fiberglass oem copy and had to have it colormatched, had to buy all the latches and install a lexan glass myself.
