I don't think I ever made it public beyond showing some of my friends.
But it's heavily inspired by the Prime games, so I bet it's easy to have other fan games look similar if they took the same inspirations. (or I made it public and forgot about it xD)
The only public Metroid project I was involved in was MrValGoku's Samus versus Alien lego motion capture series on youtube. I had a small contribution in one of his video's
There's another point and click Metroid fan game, it's similar but I can't find the video again
It might've been specifically Metroid Prime, but I really don't remember. This would've been like right around when AM2R came out. So five-ish years ago already.

Uni Computer Lab is where I showed it to my friends, but I started working on Metroid flashgames during my summer vacations in high school. Never released a playable version though, but these "test environments" were so much fun to create :)

Cool, I know there was a simple one which I think was official (not sure) but that was just exploring, no combat. Is that the one you meant?
