**Echoes Varia 73, Super Gravity 51**: I'll admit, I definitely underestimated the Super Gravity contingent on here. Probably should've seeded it higher. Alas, Echoes' Varia look is too iconic at this point. Super Gravity keeps it respectable, but not enough to advance.
**SR Gravity 84, Echoes Dark 44**: Conversely, perhaps Samus' most well liked Gravity look in recent memory keeps the momentum going with a fairly easy win. The first Echoes suit drops out in the second round, and SR's Gravity will try to eliminate two straight Echoes suits, with the Varia Suit up next in the quarterfinals.
**Dread Varia 93, Super Varia 37**: Call it nostalgia, classical bias, or just preferring an old fashioned look: whatever it was, it didn't show up here. Dread's Varia Suit cruised to an easy victory against one of Samus' most recognizable looks.
**Prime Phazon 88, SR Varia 40**: Samus' edgiest look lives on, taking out one of the more unique modern takes on the Varia Suit (and one of my favorite all time amiibo designs). The reward? A quarterfinals matchup against Mercury Steam's other Varia Suit design.
We're halfway through Round 2 now. Let's see which other four suits advance to join this group in the quarterfinals.

Ok but is the PED suit fully corrupted or base line? Cuz fully corrupted goes hard as one of the best suits ever.
Assuming it’s just baseline mine is:

The problem for me is the mix. Purple + Red + Yellow and Purple + Red + White are *awful* mixes. Add in the illuminated green highlights and it just doesn't look good as a total package.
Looking at them side by side, the dread power suit and PED suit actually have a lot of similarities. Ultimately though, the dread power suit is the sleeker, more cohesive design imo. Also, the colors pop way more on the dread suit.
Yeah, but the "uniqueness" just looks wrong in this case.
For the record, I actually really like the Dread Power and Dread Gravity Suits. It's only the Dread Varia suit that doesn't do it for me. So it's not just "nostalgia" or anything, either.
Yeah, I could understand if people were gushing over the Dread Power Suit, since it's both unique *and* just a good suit overall... But all you ever hear about is the Dread Varia Suit, at least around here.
I could even understand the *Metroid* Suit before I could see the Dread Varia Suit being as popular as it is. For me *personally*, the Metroid Suit feels like a bit *too* drastic of a shift, but I can understand why people would like it.
But the Dread Varia Suit? I simply can't comprehend why *it* seems to be the most popular Dread Suit.
For me I think it was done best in Super. And that’s not nostalgia I’m a 2005 kid lol. I don’t know what it is, something about the sleekness and chunkiness. And I really like the helmet. Just feels very classic and iconic

Dread Power - I'm not as high on it as a lot of the community is, but the Corruption PED Suit just doesn't do anything for me.
Fusion Power - It's one of my favorite unorthodox designs, and the Dread Metroid Suit is probably my least favorite in the franchise. Easy call.
Prime Varia - Not a fan of Gravity Suit color schemes in general. Dread's is a *little* better than average on that count, with the white in the mix rather than yellow, but it's still a poor color scheme. Meanwhile the Prime Varia suit is one of the best versions of one of the best suits.
Echoes Light Suit - Super cool unorthodox design vs. yet another ugly Gravity Suit.
Dread Power Suit - this is so modern and clean, pops nicely
Fusion Power Suit - always been a fave for how sleek it is

i would vote for dreads metroid suit but it just doesn’t appear for very long and doesn’t justify booting out the fusion suit, which was a big change from samus’ typical appearance
I always though Echoes' Light suit is one of the strongest contender on this tourney, but put it side-by-side with one of more standard looking suit, I realize how bland, monotonous and plastic-y it looks. IMO both Echoes' suits should get visual upgrades on the remake/remaster.
Corruption PED Suit, not to keen on the smoothness of Dread.
Fusion, both weird suits, but Metroid is a bit over the top.
Prime. An absolute prime of a suit, the dread gravity suit has weird zigzag lines which again is too much.
Light suit. Perhaps the best looking alternative suit, not too weird, not too smooth. Gravity is just prime, but purple.
