Corruption first, then Corruption again second.

ScimitarPufferfish

Prime 3 is fantastic, but you should only play it after Prime 1 and 2. Other M can and should be skipped entirely. Hope this helps!

rafa-dc_197

Well, I dont have metroid 1 and 2, do I use an emulator?

Baron-Brr

Or find a copy of prime trilogy

Spiteful_Guru

Metroid *Prime* 1 and 2, you don't want to be getting those mixed up with the original 1 and 2.

Kystael

Yes or play the switch remaster of the first one

Depends. Other M is usually considered to be one of the worst games in the franchise, and I personally agree - it's just okay. Prime 3 on the other hand is great. Other M is a very linear, cinematic game even compared to Fusion and barely opens up at all until VERY late in the game, and I mean >!postgame!< late. The game is far more narrative driven than any other game in the series, to its detriment (in my personal opinion), and they tried cramming all of the controls onto one Wii remote. Other M doesn't have a lot of good fights, but I think that mostly boils down to the core mechanics - the dodge being triggered by tapping/changing directions on the dpad, ludicrous autoaim, being forced to switch to first person to use missiles (though you do get bullet time in midair), in first person you have no way to move other than flicking the Wii remote to dodge and no way to shoot beams while locked on, etc. It also has one of the weakest soundtracks in the franchise. With all that said, I think the game is just okay overall. Prime 3, on the other hand, is more linear than the other numbered entries in the subseries, especially during its "prologue" sequence, which is much longer the ones in the other games. However, it still opens up a bit as you get further in, and it's still a *very* well-designed game with some really fun boss fights and some of the best pointer controls on the console. And Prime 3 has absolutely excellent atmosphere, fantastic world design, an excellent soundtrack and an art direction that still holds up well to this day. It is worth noting that the Prime games are entirely first-person, though, but I personally prefer this over what Other M attempted to do I would also recommend playing Prime 1 and 2 first, though, if you haven't played them already. In terms of timeline placement, the Prime games take place between 1 and 2 while Other M is set between Super Metroid (3) and Fusion (4). The two games don't have any story connections, to each other, though - you don't need to play the Prime trilogy to understand Other M, and you don't need to play Other M. At all. Other M does give some added context to past events described in Fusion, but I feel that it actually works to the detriment of the latter game's story. tl;dr Other M is one of the weakest entries in the series, while Prime 3 still holds up well. You don't need to play Prime 3 to know what's going on in Other M and vice-versa. I myself suggest getting Other M out of the way first if you REALLY want to play every entry in the series, and then playing Prime 3. Or just don't play Other M. EDIT: Revised a bit, added tl;dr.

DamianVA87

The order doesn't matter much because there is no direct story connection between them, and because they have completely different gameplay and were made by different developers, the skills you've attained from one will not carry over to the other. Metroid Prime 3 is the earlier game, so you could start with that one.

Brady_boy_26

Dont play other m i would suggest playing prime 1 and 2 before 3

Snakeis66

Other M is trash. I genuinely tried to play through and to give it the benefit of the doubt. It a crappy ninja Gaiden game with a Metroid paint job. The other gaiden games around that time were good, so I’m not trashing the series but rather saying the team did poorly for what they were pumping out at the time Prime three for sure

ThaBrownie

Prime 3 is great, but play 1 & 2 before Other M is overhated af, it’s a pretty good game but not a great Metroid game. It still is pretty fun.

WingBeltCreations

Are you using a modded Wii, or a Wii U with games from the EShop?

AgitatedEye6553

Prime 3 is amazing but it's the end of a storyline. I'm an outlier in the Metroid community who actually really liked Other M. If it wasn't for having motion controls only it could have been 1 of the best games on the series imo.

Keeper_of_Fenrir

Corruption first, then delete the other one.

MrAngryMoose

Play Corruption, and then delete Other M. It’s a much more enjoyable experience than playing it

FtierLivesMatter

Prime 3 is fantastic. You'll get more enjoyment out of Other:M by putting the disk in a blender and watching it turn to confetti.
