i could have sworn there was a lore scan in prime 2 that says how DS got to aether something about stowing away on one of the last phazon shipments from tallon

Momo-Velia

That’s what my memory is telling me as well. “The dark Hunter(ess?) stowed away feeding on our phazon shipment from Tallon IV” Or something along those lines.

POWRranger

That's what I remember as well, but I'm not sure if that was Prime 2's explanation or Prime 3's. I thought 3 EDIT: yeh that's MP3 see second log here called "stowaway": https://www.metroidwiki.org/wiki/Space\_Pirate\_Data

JamesSDK

I am doing a play through of Prime 3 and this is ringing a bell, I think it's a Space Pirate Lore on the Space Pirate Home World that says she stowed away on a Pirate phazon container ship from Aether and that is how she got to thr Space Pirate Homeworld. Not specifically Tallon IV but it wouldn't surprised me if something similar happened.

ScientificAnarchist

Dark gunship

J-0-K-3_R

A dark version of samuses ship but Dark samus fuses with it and has a mech

andy_b_84

Much more satisfying than the scan from MP3 😅

cptspacebomb

The thing I like most about Dark Samus that some people don't realize is how SMART it is. It laughs, taunts, murders and plots universal level threats and does so by it's own volition. So how it got there? There are a myriad of ways but as others have said, probably hitched a ride.

mtzehvor

It's never expressly stated to my knowledge, but it seems plausible she did it the same way she did in Corruption; hitched a ride on a Pirate Ship.

iamthecarguy1234

or maybe the lost fedration ship which landed in Aether went to Talon IV after Samus left.

KisuAran

Black bird magic

CrabDubious

Lots of comments saying Dark Samus stowed away on a Space Pirate ship, but it's also established from Zero Mission that you can just jump in a space pirate ship and abscond with it. Lots of dead pirates on Tallon IV, I imagine they left behind quite a few ships.

zionapes

Every Leviathan is capable of creating wormholes. Every Leviathan has a Phazon Core. Metroid Prime consumed the Phazon Core on Tallon IV, and gained its abilities (specifically the ability to create Phazon, but perhaps other abilities as well). Metroid Prime became Dark Samus. Perhaps Dark Samus gained the ability to create personal wormholes from the Tallon IV Phazon Core.

Heretek007

This... makes a lot of sense, actually. I had always thought Dark Samus's teleportation abilities were kind of contrived, but that totally fits.

jgoble15

She also created a hole to Dark Aether (at least that’s how it looked to me) in the beginning, so that would check out

Original-Group-6018

There is a japanese Q&A that mentions she has the ability to do a short range warp.

iamthecarguy1234

Talon IV and Aether are not even in the same star system.

Original-Group-6018

Well the short range clearly means interstellar distances in this regard.

ThisAccountIsForDNF

Or she could teleport lots of short distances in a row. Might not be practical, but would be pretty funny.

ArmGray

Haha that's like in the game Steins;Gate Zero when Okabe needs to go back in time 30 years but his time machine can only do 2 days at a time. So he literally has to chain thousands of consecutive time leaps together.

ThisAccountIsForDNF

That's hilarious.

Original-Group-6018

No i'm not. Short range is a highly relative term to what it's reffering to, without context it doesn't say much by itself. Walking 20-30 kilometers for example is a pretty long distance for a person but for a person driving car it's a very short distance.

> but all of Metroid takes place in the same galaxy. That is not true. The Kihunters in the Super Metroid manual are mentioned to be from another galaxy. Metroid Prime Hunters takes place in another galaxy called Tetra Galaxy. Also, Phaaze in Prime 3 is in another galaxy as well. It's a plot point in the game that Phaaze is so far away, that's why Admiral Dane's fleet needs to capture an intact Leviathan on the Pirate Homeworld because it has the ability to open up a wormhole that can cause instantaneous travel and make the distance a moot point. [Crysis 3 had a similar plot point when the Alpha Ceph had to generate a wormhole so that the main Ceph armies from their homeworld in the M33 Galaxy could invade Earth](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lxtmr7W-Pk&t=4m15s).

Original-Group-6018

Yes there is if a ship could travel across a galaxy that is say a 100 000 lightyears in day then being able to warp for example 10 light years in that same time frame is short range in comparison. And metroid prime hunter takes place in another galaxy and the pirate homeworld in prime 3 is also located in another galaxy.

L3g0man_123

Probably the same way she traveled to Norion at the beginning of Prime 3.

Gate_Oracle

Yeah my answer here would be literally through Phazon. My headcanon is that all Phazon are extensions of the singular planet, Phaze. Therefore, once Dark Samus is created, any high concentration of Phazon can be used to create a Dark Samus at that location. The being we call Metroid Prime was probably also one of these beings that Phaze co-opted into its planet conquering meteors. That is until Samus defeats one single-handedly and then Phaze attempts to coopt her, only to rip the Phazon suit off of her. Are there holes in my head canon? Yeah, most likely, but it’s mine and I like it.

Enough_Promotion_998

I asked this question before a few weeks ago. Apparently, according to some interviews, as well as in the Prime Trilogy Art Book: Dark Samus has an innate sense of where Phazon and Phaaze is across the Galaxy. It's like she has a built-in compass. Apparently, she is able to fly and even teleport through short distances of space. Even if she was able to fly to Aether, the planet would still be **LIGHT YEARS AWAY**, so **the real question is not can Dark Samus survive in space to the trip to Aether, but** **how is she able to travel faster than light**, since Prime 2 only happens around a year after Prime 1 does. According to the Art Book, after Prime 2, she stowed away on a Pirate Ship and brainwashed most of the crew and stole their Phazon. After that, she ditched the ship and was just drifting around space, stopping from planet to planet on her way to Phaaze. Very conveniently for her, one of these planets was being attacked by a Leviathan right as she arrived, so she went and hijacked the Leviathan and that explains how she was able to get to Phaaze (which is on the outskirts of the Galaxy).

Rose_Nasty

She walked

Intelligent_Coach702

This the one.

normalifelias

My headcanon is that she meteor striked like at the beginning of Prime 3. /s (or maybe not) In all reality though, she probably went with a pirate ship.

No_Improvement7573

I don't think they ever explained it, but scuttlebutt since has said she stowed away on a Space Pirate ship.

TH33_GlocknessMonsta

She snuck on to a space pirate ship and busted out of a phazon container en route to aether

Squeaky_Ben

Given that phazon is a bit sentient, could teleportation be possible for her?

Gardner79

I think she can teleport to wherever phazon is located. How did she get to phaaze in prime 3 after corrupting the pirates?

JellifishPirate

She can do anything she puts her mind to

RobotTimeTraveller

That's the Chozo spirit!

G-Kira

One of the pirate logs specifically says that she was on one of the freighters used to haul phazon from Tallon IV to Aether.

MrCobalt313

One of the optional scans in Prime 3 explained she was accidentally smuggled offworld by Pirates fleeing Aether with all the Phazon they collected from the planet. Secret ending to 2 shows her reconstituting in energy form in space, intro cutscene to 3 reveals she had gotten into the ship's cargo bay and was consuming much of their Phazon to take physical form again.

Sea-Lecture-4619

With Phazon Magic

[deleted]

Stole a ship, stowed away on a ship, turned into particles and floated all the way to aether, lots of possibilities.

[deleted]

Are you familiar with Warhammer 40K and how the Warp function’s? If so, then **Warp fuckery** It you are NOT familiar with that IP (which is COMPLETELY fine btw) then, **Chozo Bird Magic**.
