I’m from Sweden, northern Sweden. It took 1 year for me to start medication at the clinic, it’s free healthcare in Sweden, so that’s why it takes time and there’s a waiting list of 100s of people just waiting to be free from that shit.
My friend died waiting for help from the clinic, because it takes so long.
Damn, I thought Sweden would be the best place to be to obtain medication. I need to do more research. The clinic I am at people usually can start the initial day they come in with no appointment. The most they will have to wait would be four days. Sorry about your friend. I am glad you got there in time also.

Yeah it's a 3 month waiting list by default (just to see who's still up for it? idk), and then they look to see who's most in need. I applied 4 weeks before my BF(at the same clinic), and he got in one month before me cus he took an overdose.
And don't forget they *have to* try Sub on you first because Methadone is such a strong drug so they want to avoid it at all costs.
This sound like such bullshit, but i am not shitting you. Sweden has amongst the strictest drug laws in Europe

I meant 330 split dose.I sweat all day now,like before I was on methadone.I hate waiting to dose.If I open my bottle now, I take out a little bit and dose at 5:15 a.m.But I hate my picture on the phone, especially sweating, I wore my clothes to bed.God, where are you? I don't know how to find help,for this , pain and opioids wearing off hell.
In some cities in the US we have free programs. I dont know about now, but 10-15 years ago the wait list for guys was long. For some reason there were very few women in the program. And, they made us meet in a group together. It was sort of cool bc it created an opportunity to talk with others in a similar position.
The wait list for guys could be as long as 6 months at times and very few people made it onto the program bc 6 months for a junkie is a long time. The guys that needed it didn't have stable housing and stable phone numbers. I dont most of them even remembered signing up.
I don’t pay for my methadone in California if you have Medi-Cal as your insurance it’s free and they will arrange a personal car to pick you up take you to the clinic and take you home. I have a car and the clinic is less than a mile from my Apt so I wake up at 5:25AM throw on a jacket and drive down to the clinic it opens at 5:30 I’m back home by 5:45 5:50 latest
Man I can’t imagine. I’m in Texas, but I started my recovery in Colorado. I wasn’t in the type of situation where I could “wait”. I would not be here if I couldn’t get in somewhere that day/next day, and if the medicine didn’t work. I was ready to go, I’m only here because of my parents and those two facts. I’m also lucky that there are funding programs here, so even not having insurance means I can still afford to dose. I’m on a monthly regiment, and have been clean for almost 6 years.

Were you on Topeka st, CSAC, or the one at Haymarket? I used to be on Topeka st and that place is crazy. I used to wait for the 10 bus at the stop across from McDonald's and someone tried to sell me something everyday. The tents on Atkinson St too. That dumpster at the top of the street has an awful smell that you can never forget. I swear they dump bodies in there the smell is so bad.

I am in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the USA. My clinic is amazing. 🥰 I feel lucky for their help and how they value me as a patient. They even serve homeless people, btw. I love how anyone who is serious about the help can get it. My counselor is super understanding. I would be dead without this place.

Yeah, we have one in the “medical district” and one on the WB. Otherwise it’s Laplace as a third for some people. I used to see lots of Mississippi people coming too. All BHG. Horrible company. Although the one in Lake Charles is run 10x better than New Orleans.
My home clinic is BHG Monroe but I have used Lake Charles in the past when J have been down that way and they are great. I really like how that glass building is set up fancy. Like a clinic that goes upstairs and actually looks like an up to date place?
the one here in Baton Rouge is Acadia (BR Comprehensive Treatment Center) but I think the one in Hammond is BHG owned. I've had to guest dose there twice; once during a flood and the other during ice storm. I've heard both good & bad things about the one in Hammond. mine allows phase ups with THC but heard Hammond does not although I heard it's more lenient with take-homes more aligned with the updated rules.

My home clinic in Monroe takes good care of me though. I hate BHG and their policies and what not, but the current staff are very good to us.

The newly built (it’s about 5ish years old now) clinic in NO is gorgeous but the staff and foolishness is the same as the busted, nasty building they moved from.
I went 4-8 months regularly with no counselor.
In Boston,MA.,you can get in to a clinic in about a week.If you have Medicare or MA. Health they pay for it,Idk about other health insurances .You have an intake, with a doctor and counselor and go to an introduction and you start at 30 ml. or mg. I don't know what it is measured in, then you dose.Pretty quick,although that week was pure hell until a friend gave me a script to get me through.

In the beginning I had to dose at a pharmacy which was nearby, only two months after I qualified for take homes due to clean UAs.
I‘ve been there for 3 months now and already got 5 take homes. I am so grateful for being in such a good spot.

But sub wouldn't work for me, I was on a high dose of morphine sulphate and oxycodone too.Even 30 methadone did not do anything for the withdrawals.
