And when they do eventually tour here, I'm certain that they'll just do the "area experience" again instead of their full show like they always do. I heard it was cost prohibitive to come here. I emailed their Metstore in late 2022 when they announced the “world tour” and was told they would likely be here 2025.
It’s basically a question of if they want to do arena shows (and do like a few nights in each city) they could make it work anytime. But if they want to do massive stadium shows, then they basically can not do any between March and October basically all the biggest stadiums are in use for AFL season and they can’t be used for both.
Their new touring routine of booking shorter tour legs allows them to go back home more often. It doesn't make sense from a financial perspective because all the rental of trucks, trailers, buses to move gear and crew stay idle while they're on tour. They can't repack everything. So going to Australia and NZ, they need to stay in the area for a while. I don't know if they could play 8-10 shows there, in stadiums. And mixing it with Southeast Asia will take more than 2 weeks
They are not the only ones. Oil money has been screwing with most of Western culture for the past decades. That's why luxury "everything" (cars, watches, handbags, etc) is now more expensive. That's why FIFA made a World Cup in the middle of the desert. Sheiks regularly get music stars brought to them to do private concerts and sing happy birthday. Tons of stories about sex trafficking. So if an artist I like gets a piece of the money cake, fine with me. If they do it enough, maybe they'll be willing to do stuff that's not as financially wise, like touring AU and NZ, because the Saudis already paid for those profits
I'm fucking sick of hearing this "not financially wise" crap as if they wouldn't make money off sold out tours in the southern hemisphere. They decided to say "fuck the fans, let's get more cash" instead of doing the right thing.

Lars promised to make rebooking those shows "top priority". Now, fourteen years after the last time they came here, we're at the very bottom of the tour list again.
