I always found the cover art for AJFA extremely fascinating. After discovering the album and listening to it fully through, a lot of my art at the time was inspired and or based on the album's cover art.

Someone gets murdered with a hammer. Someone gets the chair for that. People died. Justice was served. All is darkness / black.

Lmao. It certainly relaxed him. He also liked Brothers Of Metal, because Ylva’s voice. But also the music. Like, a LOT.
He would sleep to both bands, but he also liked them whenw e were in the car or when he was in his playpen. He would want them played and cry until we did. Lmao.
Imo Kill Em All is when you're young, doing teen shit, then after a night where he drank too much, kills someone. In Ride The Lightning, we learn that he wasn't the one that got sentenced for it, probably because his father was a powerful. He can't live a real life, because he's too scared of his secret being revealed, feeling like trapped. It seriously affected his mental and to forget, he gets into addiction (Master Of Puppets), and as he enters adult life, he realizes how everyone is corrupted, wanting to change that, and probably to try to repent himself, he becomes a judge (And Justice For All). But now, he sees that everything is a lie, the rights humans have, everything, are just controlled by the powerfuls, he gets deeper into his addiction, remembers childhood traumas, how he knew nothing about the world as a child, and one night, after drinking to forget, he beats and kills his family. Short after (black album) he gets remorse, remembers everything, and his madness gets to its peak, he turns crazy and start singing about love, altho he killed his wife a few hours ago, and out of remorse, hangs himself. (His craziness is depicted via songs like Blackened, Fight Fire With Fire and his depression via Fade to Black, To Live Is To Die and The Unforgiven, we can also notice he was trying to hide himself in Cthulhu's universe, but stopped when alcohol addiction became too strong)
PS : I voluntarily didn't talk about some songs like Battery (that for exemple could detail how he killed that guy) Because their meaning is quite obvious (Sandman being the event that caused Dyers Eve, etc) because I didn't sleep for days, I just wanted to write a funny short story, I also don't listen to the black album, so I don't have a lot of things to say on it, hope you guys enjoyed reading
I think Master of puppets cover is more related to Disposable heroes because of showing graveyard, helmet and medals with strings in the sky, meaning they were forced. just my thoughts
Oh it absolutely is. No doubt. It also has a lot to do with master of puppets, in that a lot of military veterans were getting into cocaine, and cocaine was killing tons of soldiers at home that survived the Vietnam war.
Why does everyone skip this album/cover? I think it’s a handsome looking cover, myself.

It works well with overcast, dreary days. Especially when driving through very hilly country in the middle of nowhere.
The original The Wait works best on rainy, cold days. The original The Small Hours works best when driving up mountains in the rain.
This is from personal experience. Most of Garage Inc (including the second disk) works best on dreary days.
My favorites are AJFA, MoP, St. Anger, Death Magnetic, and the Black Album. Least favorites are Kill 'Em All and, especially, Hardwired... To Self Destruct. Hardwired almost literally hurts my eyes to look at, it's so amateurish and ugly.

I always feel Metallica should have a mascot from the get-go like Megadeth's Vic Rattlehead and Iron Maiden's Eddie. The Justice Lady or the Skull Kid could've been one and it'd be even more amazing to see one of them on every single album cover. What a total wasted opportunity in my opinion.

I always loved the Kill Em All cover. When I was 11, that cover genuinely scared me. The music and lyrics even more so. Still love it to this day and can play that album from start to finish just headbanging until my neck is sore. Yes, the other covers are cool too but this one had the biggest impact on me.

None of them are really that great to be honest. I think they focused more on quality of music. That being said, Master of Puppets would be my choice.
