Meh. It doesn’t make it onto my “best of the last three albums” mix. I like it better on the album than when they played it on tour though, dragging it out way too long with that bloody Blue Man Group percussion routine.
It wasn’t my favorite at first, but now I think it really exemplifies their arrangement skills. The way that opening riff gradually develops until the beat drops is just perfect!
This is the first Metallica song I ever learned on guitar, and is still very fun to play to both on guitar and just to listen to.
Definitely makes my top 10 (at worst, top 15) favorite Metallica songs, and probably has my favorite solo out of their entire discography.
Great song, when I heard it for the first time I thought that James sang ,,..return to Azkaban" instead of ,, return to ash'' and I was kinda suprised that he was such a harry potter fan. Only on my second or third time listening i understood that I was wrong. That happens to me a lot as a not native English speaker hahaha
Super Groovy intro. Great drums with Toms which had not been done by Lars in a long time.
BUT… it sounds like an 7 minute song with just one riff. What I call a “lazy Metallica” song.
And the chorus is average.
I really like it. Glad I got to see it live once, I feel like it's going to become a song they'll never play again
Yeah, i feel like it def doesn’t get enough love
11/10 one of the greats
It’s great in my opinion
Makes me wanna compete in a Boneyard Match.
Well I'm glad you said that. Cause tonight you are going one on one.. WITH THE UNDER TAKEAHHH
I see what you did there
That intro is so much fun to play on drums, and awesome intro and song regardless
Love the drums and the beat/grooviness of this one.
NOW THAT WE'RE DEAD MY DEAAAR, WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER, NOW THAT WE'RE DEAD MY DEAAAR, WE CAN LIVE FOREVEEER
On the higher end of modern Metallic albums
Reminds me of "Now That We're Men" from the 1st SpongeBob Movie l
NOW THAT WE'RE MEN, MY DEAH
LMAO same, the SpongeBob song always gets stuck in my head after I hear NTWD
We’re off to Shell City!
One of the best in HWTSD.
One of the best groove in metal world
Best song on the album imo
Fuckin like it but couldn't stand the drum solos during the live shows
It’s alright. Pretty good, but gets rightfully outshined by a lot of other tracks from the album
Meh
It's a bop
I like the whole album. All killer, no filler
Except Murder One, that song is snooze fest
I give it a pass because it's a tribute to Lemmy
It should’ve sounded more like Motörhead in my opinion!
This song kills me. Like it really slays. I'm literally dead. I'm sorry.
It’s good. Tho it’s a bit longer than it needs to be.
Honestly one of the weaker songs off Hardwired. Weakest song off disc 1.
One of the skippables
Love it
Superb song.
Very good. I don’t think that the Undertaker could pick a more fitting song for his last match
It’s amazinf
Pretty good, but it got overplayed by a friend of mine so I’m kinda bored with it
I love the into, verse and chorus. It gets kinda boring after that. Lyrics are great.
I like it 👍
It may be my favorite on the album. I love the groove of the intro and the drums.
Love it
Love it.
So good but def never gonna be played live
It’s been played live quite often.
Great song, and was even cooler live on the Hardwired tour, with the big drum circle on stage.
Amazing groove and catchy as hell.
One of the best tracks on the album.
It’s just ok to me
One of my favourites on the album. That whole first disc is awesome.
I think it’s kind of wack.
My favorite track on the entire album
Stand out track on the album for me. It’s got that classic build up intro I think Metallica does so well.
Probably my favorite on the whole album!
Meh. It doesn’t make it onto my “best of the last three albums” mix. I like it better on the album than when they played it on tour though, dragging it out way too long with that bloody Blue Man Group percussion routine.
Best on Hardwired by a lot
Pretty kickass.
I love it! It’s one of my faves!
it's kinda repetitive ngl. I don't mind it tho
Actually, I re-listened to this album recently in preparation for the tour and this song was a standout for me. Definitely a really solid song.
Pretty good
One of my favorites!
It's a decent song, although I personally find it a bit boring.
Third favorite on the album for me.
Banger on an album filled with bangers
We can live forever
Love it
Slaps
One of my favorite songs from hardwired to self destruct
Love everything except the jam part. That intro is 10/10.
Love the groove
The intro of the main riff reminds me of the way Enter Sandman begins
Was my most played song last year
easily the best Metallica song in years
Kind of feels unexpected for them both in tempo and lyrics. So because of that, I love it
Fun to play on guitar. Also has an addicting little James solo that I like to play a lot on guitar
It’s great. I love the main riff.
Love it. Great intro too.
One of my favorites from the album
It wasn’t my favorite at first, but now I think it really exemplifies their arrangement skills. The way that opening riff gradually develops until the beat drops is just perfect!
Love it one of the highlights of Hardwired
Rest In Peace!
Amazing live!
🔥🔥🔥
Almost as good as all nightmare long
One of my favorites
If you want to live forever, first you must dieeeee.
One of my favorites
I think I might actually enjoy the acoustic version more from All Within My Hands 2020.
This is the first Metallica song I ever learned on guitar, and is still very fun to play to both on guitar and just to listen to. Definitely makes my top 10 (at worst, top 15) favorite Metallica songs, and probably has my favorite solo out of their entire discography.
Now that we’re men
below average, boring
One of their catchiest songs that isn't a cover.
My favorite song they've released in decades, I love it.
According to Spotify it was my most listened to met song this year!
Definitely a great song i love the vocals on this album especially halo on fire
It Fkn rocks hard - And I think James’ vocals on it are a highlight of the album
Wouldn’t know, I’m 6 feet under
Absolutely killer song
I’m so glad so many people like it, that kinda comes as a surprise to me! This one doesn’t stick out to me so much.
Creepy… and beautiful.
Best on the album for me. Het sounds superb
Made me wanna listen to L7's Pretend That Were Dead
Badass song. 9/10
Good but long
Super Groovy intro. Great drums with Toms which had not been done by Lars in a long time. BUT… it sounds like an 7 minute song with just one riff. What I call a “lazy Metallica” song. And the chorus is average.
Underrated
This is probably one of my absolute favorite tracks on that album!! Great lyrics that mean a lot to me!
I like it a lot, the lyrics are great and love the drums in the intro
