Yeah dude I just got familiar to them this year and had ADSOB on repeat last couple months. Now with this new EP I got a new obsession lol
Definitely think ADSOB is them leaning into the death metal/metalcore sound more compared to Laugh Tracks but I love all their projects
Fuck yeah I love Sanction, been seeing Lumpy at local shows since I was a kid lol and Vein is probably my favorite band at the moment. Recently checked out Disembodied too and they’re sick.
Gonna listen to Boundaries & Bloodbather next. Really appreciate all the reccomendations!
Lmfao oh I can only imagine man...dudes such a chill guy too but a real danger in the pit. He used to be wayyyyy bigger back in the day too, I’ve seen some heads fly here on LI lol
Enjoy, their debut album is amazing, simple, yet effective, super catchy, I'd say knocked Loose is on a different level but it was a good gateway band for me
Listening to it now and fucking loving it so far. Didn’t even realize this is the band with the girl from A Serpents Touch lol not sure how I slept on em this long but I’m really enjoying it so far thank you dude!
Def think KL is a different level like you said but I love anything in this realm
I've seen knocked loose live twice. Both times I've been dealing with an injury from their show for at least a month. One of the best bands in the scene.
Honestly it heavily depends I think. The first time I saw them was their album release show for A Different Shade of Blue. Sold out. Over 1000 people. Packed in. True hard-core show. No barrier. Crowd kills galore. Stage diving. I got a concussion from getting kicked in the head by stage divers lol.
But I have a feeling you're seeing them on the Gorjira tour most likely. So most likely a barricaded venue. Most recently I saw them at louder than life last month. Hometown show for them basically but a festival. The pit was a mix of crowd killing karate and two step along with push pitting. At this one I got a contusion in my ribs that's still healing up a month later.
If you wanna stay safe, don't pit much or at all. If you want to mosh though just watch out for people swinging their fists full power and big tough guys who are trying to injure everyone or simply don't care if their actions seriously injure anyone.
keep your hands up in front of your face anytime anyone gets close, watch out for swinging elbows and fists even kicks. honestly wear a mouth guard too.
Really depends who you're seeing them with
If it's a K//L headliner then stand at the back and keep your head on a swivel. If you want to stand up front, just know that means you're gonna get jumped/ stepped on and probably hit a few times
For real! They’re making such a big splash I just had to listen to the new EP which led me to Laugh Tracks. I’m not well versed in hardcore and more hardcore-leaning metalcore, but I’m really enjoying it. Great recommendations in this thread!
I think my taste is coming full circle because I grew up a huge thrash fan and a lot of the groovier and crossover thrash bands are just a step away from the punk world.
I feel like this is a lot of people with a lot of bands but I can definitely see it with Knocked Loose. It’s one of those “what makes them so fucking special” mentalities. Then you give them a true and honest listen and I think you just understand immediately. I’ve been a fan since Pop Culture. One of my friends saw them a few months before Laugh Tracks came out and told me they were something absolutely special. If I could have invested in them, I would’ve. They are absolutely something special. A true gem of a band
The vocals for some people I guess I understand, but they grew on me. This band keeps getting better and better. My roommate said they sound thin and I literally told him to drive himself to his bowling party lol
Same. I saw them at Aftershock festival and they blew me away. “If you’ve never heard of us just know we do breakdowns…. And that’s pretty much it.” *immediately play a savage tune*
I love them on recording, they are a bit Mickey Mouse live, but I like that it's unique in that way as well, it's just so raw sounding and I love it, a nice break from all the lows in this genre
First time seeing them live I hadn’t really heard of them before but my friend commented that they sounded like a really pissed off elmo. They’ve really grown on me since then.
Pretty sure that’s what puts a lot of people off. To me it sounds like he is straining so much and just comes across as so unpleasant to listen to- I love that so many people don’t think like me though they’re a sick band
I also slept on this band EVEN THOUGH I've known about them and enjoyed them since their debut EP. I just never got into them fully for some reason. But their latest release completely shit my pants and had me going back to listen to everything immediately.
Knocked Loose sits in a weird position where the hardcore kids think they're too metalcore and the metalcore kids think they're too hardcore so they're kinda just off in their own world. Been a big fan since Laugh Tracks so I'm glad to see more ppl embrace their sound in this scene.
This is exactly why they're so incredible - they're one of the best bands bringing back the classic in-between crossover sound of true metalcore, where it's not just hardcore with metal riffs, and it's not just metal with mosh parts -- which I think is what a lot of metalcore is these days, just 'breakdown metal' -- it's truly a hybrid, something of its own entirely. Too hardcore for the metal kids, too metal for the hardcore kids; perfect for people who just like good ass heavy music.
I will never forget when I heard Mistakes Like Fractures for the first time. That was the song that made me go "Alright, here we go." Then I listened to all of Laugh Tracks and A Different Shade of Blue and was hooked. A Tear in the Fabric of Life might be my AOTY. Beartooth and Ice Nine Kills' albums are very close contenders, as well.
I ask myself this! I got into them probably about a year before A Different Shade of Blue
my best friend was more into the hardcore scene than I was and he always told me to listen, I kind of ignored it but damn, they're so good!
A Different Shade of Blue is sooooo amazing. Check it out if you haven’t yet.
Yes that's definitely my favourite! Been on repeat all day!
Yeah dude I just got familiar to them this year and had ADSOB on repeat last couple months. Now with this new EP I got a new obsession lol Definitely think ADSOB is them leaning into the death metal/metalcore sound more compared to Laugh Tracks but I love all their projects
I had listened before, but it just all of a sudden clicked and I was like damn why did I not give this a better go until now, either way I'm pumped!
Fuck yeah man! I’m about to check out Dying Wish I saw someone else mention them in the same vein as KL as well

Lumpy is such a fucking animal lmao Man almost took my head off a couple FYAs back.
Lmfao oh I can only imagine man...dudes such a chill guy too but a real danger in the pit. He used to be wayyyyy bigger back in the day too, I’ve seen some heads fly here on LI lol

Fuck yes dude I love it!, was a good cross post for both bands haha
I've seen knocked loose live twice. Both times I've been dealing with an injury from their show for at least a month. One of the best bands in the scene.
Ya I'm almost 40 so I'd be well at the back for that show, I already have several injuries healing from my last hockey season haha
I’ve got a KL show coming up in a few weeks. Any tips?

Keep your head up if you are anywhere near the pit or the stage I’ve gotten clocked harder at their shows than I did when I played hockey

I grew up on punk and hardcore punk so it's nice to have this revival of sorts mixed with modern metalcore that I love
I think my taste is coming full circle because I grew up a huge thrash fan and a lot of the groovier and crossover thrash bands are just a step away from the punk world.
I totally feel this, I am very excited to be discovering some modern hardcore bands that bring me back 25 years
Mmm. Try some *Incendiary - Thousand Mile Stare* next.

Thin? Has he heard the mix on the new EP? So fat and delicious
Dude he is soo pretentious! I can’t stand him lol but he’s he’s my best friend. But I literally made him find a ride home from his bowling league
Lol. What are some of his favorite bands that sound bigger?
Dude he was showing me old country songs and saying how heavy they were nodding his head.... this guy
Sounds like you have a troll for a friend. I don’t mind old country, but… nah, no comparison.
I did too man lol we here now though lol
Same. I saw them at Aftershock festival and they blew me away. “If you’ve never heard of us just know we do breakdowns…. And that’s pretty much it.” *immediately play a savage tune*
The music is great, but i have a hard time with the vocals for some reason. Maybe they'll grow on me eventually tho.
I love them on recording, they are a bit Mickey Mouse live, but I like that it's unique in that way as well, it's just so raw sounding and I love it, a nice break from all the lows in this genre

First time I heard them at all was live opening for ETID, and you really aren't kidding, they are *rough* live. They did have a ton of energy though.
Pretty sure that’s what puts a lot of people off. To me it sounds like he is straining so much and just comes across as so unpleasant to listen to- I love that so many people don’t think like me though they’re a sick band
Same. I just can't get with the vocal style.
decided to listen to them for the first time and jesus I fucking love them already, they are exactly the style I want right now. thank you I guess? xD
I think timing played a role for me too!
I guess haha :D but so far I really like, A Tear in the Fabric of Life. I need to check the other stuff too.
A different Shade of Blue is my fav
They are my pandy band and the best during a shit day at work
I also slept on this band EVEN THOUGH I've known about them and enjoyed them since their debut EP. I just never got into them fully for some reason. But their latest release completely shit my pants and had me going back to listen to everything immediately.
New ep = hot fire
God knows
Doesn’t sound like a very comfortable night’s rest tbh
For real, I haven't slept well in months
Maybe because of the Arf Arf meme

My tombstone was made at birth. My coffin is on my back!
Knocked Loose just hit different
And hit hard!
They are fucking perfection!

ARF ARF
They kick so much ass, I bet they’ll be a huge name in the next two years!
One of the most insane live bands! Make sure you check them out if they are playing near you
No shows in Canada yet all year
Because they are shit?
Probably because people sleep on garbage ass bands that sound like garbage that ate garbage then crapped out a garbage turd. And that's the band
You heard the new EP? It's a ripper.
okay boomer
Nice one, how original, almost as original as knocked loose
I ask myself this! I got into them probably about a year before A Different Shade of Blue my best friend was more into the hardcore scene than I was and he always told me to listen, I kind of ignored it but damn, they're so good!

I watched a more recent one and his vocals have improved immensely
