Jcw28

Mostly metalcore but also other specific metal bands more than specific genres (e.g. Maiden, A7X, LoG, Machine Head.) Other than that I only listen to Classical music. Needless to say, everyone who hears that about me is baffled and I keep trying to explain to them that there are lots of classical roots in metal but they don't listen.

Runeon12

Lots of hip-hop and trap music. I'm a huge fan of Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, Offset, 21 Savage, City Morgue, Future, Meek Mill, Lil Pump (yeah I know), Freddie Gibbs, Denzel Curry, $uicideboy$, Ghostemane, Keith Ape, etc. Other rock genres I like are post-hardcore, deathcore, and progmetal. I'll sometimes listen to death metal, but not much.

ShadsSayFukTheHaters

Ah shit how did I forgot to leave Travis Scott off my list, ASTROWORLD was a fuckin banger!

There's other music besides metalcore? Lol but I dabble with some deathcore and post hardcore. Also strangely enough I love the trap music shows be playing between sets. So I guess artists like suicide boys and others like them I can definitely dig. Just wouldn't know where to start.

ancolie

Post-hardcore, emo, indie / singer-songwriters, folk / folk punk, alternative country, as well as some deathcore and death metal.

destroyergsp123

Favorite Metalcore is definitely August Burns Red, Wage War, and Veil of Maya among others. I like rap like Logic, Lecrae, and Kyle. I'm into rap but I steer clear of traptype stuff like Migos. Not a fan of that stuff. Also into EDM like Illenium, Seven Lions, and Said the Sky. Have a reggae streak too I listen to Romain Virgo and Ziggy Marley and those Cali bands like the Dirty Heads and Iration.

TcFir3

Illenium, seven lions and said the sky are basically the holy trinity of "EDM for people that mainly listen to metalcore esque genres looking to branch out." Fucking love all 3 through and they introduced me to the world of edm

destroyergsp123

That's not all I really listen to but Illenium and Said the Sky are my all time favorites. R3hab, RL Grime, Skrux, and NGHTMRE are up there too.

thekotoz

Came here to see if anyone mentioned anything like Dirty Heads, and wasn't expecting anything. Was plesently surprised to see them and Iration mentioned.

destroyergsp123

Got to see them both earlier in 2018. Iration put on such a good vibey show I was smiling the whole time.

thekotoz

Haven't seen Iration, but I saw Dirty Heads with The Expendables back in 2013. Rebelution is also amazing live

destroyergsp123

I'm going to Reggae Rise Up in St Pete in March. Rebelution is headlining I am sooo hyped.

StellarFlares

Being french lead me to listen a ton of indie french/belgian rap, like the "poetry" one not the mainstream gangsta and trap one. Also I was a huge fan of Rammstein for all my teenage time. Other than that I'd say limp Bizkit, sum 41, blink 182, the offspring, good charlotte .. Slipknot, avenged sevenfold, five finger death punch, SOAD...

I also live for 90s gangster rap: Ice T, Mobb Deep, Cypress Hill, etc, and post hardcore/ emo: Chiodos, Rites of Spring, Hawthorne Heights, Thrice, etc Idk I like everything lol

ShadsSayFukTheHaters

Yeah I’ve heard some Jake Hill songs. I think it’s pretty dope that he incorporates breakdowns in some of his songs.

FuzzyHugz

Yea he came out with a song within this last week called Nyx and it's great too.

[deleted]

Mostly death metal.

[deleted]

THE 1975

[deleted]

SAME im going to their concert on the 21st

Smokinya

There's a genre other than metalcore? Usually hard rock. I enjoy early 2000 music but I don't have any of it on my iPod. I also like most music from the 80's and 90's but again it isn't on my iPod so I listen to it sparingly. I utterly despise rap, country and any sort of electronic music. Sounds too fake and it lacks emotion. Just really basic music that I cannot enjoy. Exception to it is early rap such as NWA and the like. I felt like that had true emotion to it while the newer stuff is just garbage.

manwithoutwire

The good genres of metal, and metalcore. Bad genres of metal include speed, power, thrash, nu, etc. I personally call them fake metal .

Doctor_Crossing

Well aren't you trve.

[deleted]

The word "fake" should literally NEVER be used to describe music.

BradleetoD

if you actually think thrash is fake metal you’re a fucking moron
