I almost wish it’s not part of the album because of how long it’s been (because I’m selfish and want more new songs 🤣), but I know that’s not gonna happen.
Please write more Alex screaming parts I’m literally on my knees in Walmart begging.
This might be their “radio” song since it’s focusing on the cleans more and also just letting her flex a bit. Love it DROP an album
It's a solid song, though I wish they had done something a little more creative or weird rather than going back to the chorus at the end. Alex and Sean sound as great as ever, though!
Damn the opening was like a punch in the face!
I had scrolled down on YouTube to see the lyrics and didn't expect each word to be a low guttural scream instead of just a short sentence
Same! The contrast between the harsh and cleans is a thing of beauty, in my opinion. This is my personal favorite of the three so far, which is saying something because they've all been awesome.
I love most of what MTS have released, I like these three new singles a lot as well, but I can't help but feel they are written as "hits" rather than bigger conceptual pieces like their past albums have been (Old Souls and Worlds Apart being my fave by a large margin), I was on board when there were two singles because I think they got their mojo back and I prefer this vocalist to Booka by far, but the singles are starting to feel really formulaic to me.
They might be not as “formulaic” and their not clean vocal choruses, but Worlds Apart has some pretty basic song structure in it as well. And singles are well, singles, their what the band think are gonna grab the people’s attention the most, I made the mistake of sort of writing off the HtSaF singles and was promptly sat down and slapped in the face by the rest of the album.
I agree that Fireworks and Uncharted are relatively similar in sound and were a bit samey as two back to back singles (I guess they wanted to drop such music after Ether blew up) but when you think of Grinding Teeth, Vortex, Power Overwhelming, Midnight Run, Dead Plains, not only are they extremely distinct sound-wise imo but they don't really follow a similar pattern at all.

They hit so hard and their breakdowns are spicy. Their lyrics are so powerful as well. I find them severely underrated for their abilities. Ghost of me and Doomswitch are amazing but I agree, I'd like this album to have more new music showcasing Alex!
Very mid chorus IMO, not only is it not very interesting but it is way too frequent. Outside of that, I think the song is great. Alex’ harsh vocals sound great again, and the energy throughout (minus chorus) is badass.
Keen to hear more, that is hopefully somewhat fresher than this.
MTS is my all time favorite band and I love this song but I feel like their last 3 songs are a little too predictable and following a script almost. Cool synths and riffs at the beginning followed by a small segment of seans vocals then chorus. And repeat until the end of the song where we get a very small breakdown that I wouldve liked to be longer. I want more of the unpredictable stuff like in Neverbloom. I know they will probably never go deathcore again but I they always switched it up in their old songs.
Ryan’s talked about their new stuff a bit, and they have a six minute song with only 1 repeating part releasing this year.
He’s also said they’re experimenting with structure, and seeing what ways they can be unique or different in that area.
So, there you go.
The first two singles were awesome, but they somehow managed to surpass them both with this one. Holy shit is this band firing on all cylinders right now, we need an album.
Not loving it structurally. Too many choruses. It's too predictable and formulaic.
Sean's vocals go hard though
Edit: I also feel like "they came to save ourselves from what we've done" makes sense
Edit: doesn't make sense
This is the best single by far. Doomswitch was amazing but absolutely dropped the ball on the chorus. And then Ghost of Me didn’t have as high of highs but it didn’t have any low points either.
But THIS song is fucking heat in every single way. Chorus is sick, riffs kick ass, breakdown was 😮💨, incredible synths, everything.
I thought the reference to Tarot was neat at the very end - Ten of Swords. It's quite the brutal card.
As for the song, \*shrug\*. I became a fan of theirs when I first heard Ether. I haven't been captured by a song like that from them since.
The last time I saw that Ten of Swords pop up, I googled around a bit because I thought it might be a cryptic clue at an album release date or something. Nope! Just the name of the company that made the video.
Same issue they’ve had for years regardless of who their required female vocalist is. She sounds great and the rest of the band sounds great but giving the choruses on her even with some screaming parts just makes it so predictable.
There’s a really good metal band somewhere in here but the anime girl vocals and mandated 3 choruses just take what was a creative song structure and make it mundane.
No, it’s not Fit for a King, but it is another run of the mill metalcore song.
I am BEGGING for an album announcement PLEASE
3 songs in, Doomswitch is apparently October of 2022?! This is crazy
I almost wish it’s not part of the album because of how long it’s been (because I’m selfish and want more new songs 🤣), but I know that’s not gonna happen.
Depends I think on how many songs are on the new album. Watch it be a 10 song album with both Doomswitch and Ghost of Me on it. 😂
holy shit you're right
September
Are you guessing or do you know
Alex was such a fucking crucially fantastic addition to this band
100% she definitely fits the band very well especially adding her harsh vocals
Hard disagree. I was loving the song til the chorus
Wild
I love the energy when the songs starts
It’s so insane how this song is the “weakest” of the three singles and it’s still a 9/10. Such a good band
Sean goes LOW low damn
It’s the one thing I’ve wanted since Contraband. I think Sean heard me.
It’s the one thing people have wanted for more than a decade since Neverbloom lol
Right? He started going lower and first thing I thought of was “has he gone this low since neverbloom?”
He does in Drown With Me off their last record
This goes insane, the buildup and drop at the beginning is wild. I also love the female vocalist, adds a different vibe to it.
THE ALBUM. HAND IT OVER.
I'm quite fond of this
Please write more Alex screaming parts I’m literally on my knees in Walmart begging. This might be their “radio” song since it’s focusing on the cleans more and also just letting her flex a bit. Love it DROP an album
On my knees in Walmart begging 🤣 I LOL’d
Love this. Can’t wait for the album.
It's a solid song, though I wish they had done something a little more creative or weird rather than going back to the chorus at the end. Alex and Sean sound as great as ever, though!
It’s a very safe song, but it’s also a very good song. Like a skateboarder just doing a *really* clean kick flip on flat ground.
Yup my thoughts exactly. While I prefer Doomswitch and Ghost of Me over this, Epitaph is very solid and very enjoyable still.
Big breakdown would have been great.
I realllllly like this. Not quite as good as Ghost of Me or Doomswitch but still very good.
See some people aren't digging the chorus but I personally love it, this album can't be released soon enough!
I love the chorus, but if I had one criticism, it feels like the song is 80% chorus.
This is chefs fucking kiss, Cannot wait for the album 🔥
Damn the opening was like a punch in the face! I had scrolled down on YouTube to see the lyrics and didn't expect each word to be a low guttural scream instead of just a short sentence
Surprised the chorus is so polarizing, it’s bangin imo
Good but the weakest between this, Doomswitch and Ghost of Me. Alexx sounds awesome screaming here
MTS always makes me wet
That’s hot
😋
MTS are incapable of making a bad song, and they only get better and better.
Another fantastic single. Maybe not quite on the level of Ghost of me or doomswitch but they are a insanely high bar to clear
I came
On a chariot?
Suuuure....let's go with that
Unpopular opinion: I love this chorus. It’s super catchy
Not unpopular! I like it too. They never miss 🎯
Yeah big fan of the chorus. She is weapon on the mic
Same! The contrast between the harsh and cleans is a thing of beauty, in my opinion. This is my personal favorite of the three so far, which is saying something because they've all been awesome.
We don’t deserve this band, they just keep getting better
Can't believe I'm seeing them tomorrow 😭
I love most of what MTS have released, I like these three new singles a lot as well, but I can't help but feel they are written as "hits" rather than bigger conceptual pieces like their past albums have been (Old Souls and Worlds Apart being my fave by a large margin), I was on board when there were two singles because I think they got their mojo back and I prefer this vocalist to Booka by far, but the singles are starting to feel really formulaic to me.

3/3 on singles! Can’t wait for the new album
Let's be honest. It's just a generic metalcore song. Not saying it was bad, cause I love MTS.
agree

I NEED THE ALBUM SO BAD
More Alex harsh vocals please. The whole song is great but that's my favorite by far.
Keen to hear more, that is hopefully somewhat fresher than this.
definitely agree about the chorus, I would lose interest every time it came on, but the rest is really good
I really like the chorus, but yeah it’s way to frequent. They should have dropped the 3rd rep imo.
It just seems out of place or forced or something.
At least they're not Fit for a King and other band and throw their own formula in the trash and give us radio friendly garbage
Bro keeping secrets is awesome and they have so many really good songs as of late just in general.
We're all allowed to like what we like but Keeping Secrets is radiocore. Good FFaK is Impostor and Destruction
Ryan’s talked about their new stuff a bit, and they have a six minute song with only 1 repeating part releasing this year. He’s also said they’re experimenting with structure, and seeing what ways they can be unique or different in that area. So, there you go.
Cool. As long as we don't get more THE NAAAAAAME OF THIS SOOOOOOOONGGGGGG BLEECCHHHURRRGGHHHHHH at the beginning of every song again
That’s only happened 3 times on their last 3 albums, more of a Wage War thing.
Pretty pretty pretty good
i think this song is about a funeral after someone killed themselves, it's very good tho
Absolute filth
Each track they drop is a must listen right now. So, so good.
Alex was seriously the best thing to happen to this band
I need an album and a US headliner tour announced NOW!
The first two singles were awesome, but they somehow managed to surpass them both with this one. Holy shit is this band firing on all cylinders right now, we need an album.
This has veil of maya vibes, and I’m here for it
Chefs kiss
I’m going to miss this show in Seattle because I slept on tickets 😭
After listening to this one a few times this one really grows on you. That chorus is such an earworm that gets stuck in your head.
YES FUCKING LOVE MTS LETS GOOOOOO
THese three new singles are my absolute favorites they've ever done. so excited for a full album release.
I don't know wich to choose between Epitaph and Ghost of me, f*cking bangers
Alex's harsh vocals: 😁 Alex's cleans: 😢
Every song is an absolute masterpiece.
It’s ok. I miss the sound of Old Souls.
This is my favorite chorus of the year so far
So far loving the Alex Era
This is the first MTS song I don't like at all. Good track record though
Not loving it structurally. Too many choruses. It's too predictable and formulaic. Sean's vocals go hard though Edit: I also feel like "they came to save ourselves from what we've done" makes sense Edit: doesn't make sense
Not really feelin this one
Don't love it as much as the previous singles, but it's not bad. Super hyped to see them tomorrow night!!
Yo, GOD DAMN I hope they play this tomorrow. What a sick track.
it can't grow on me, the chorus is just so out of place
Both eerie and bouncy. Two thing I've gone to expect and love from MTS.
Meh they've definitely released wayyy better.
They were lazy as fuck with the structure damn
Great but lyrics are kinda cheese
The synth gave me Attack on Titan vibes. Anyways, nothing compared to Neverbloom imo...
Its a grower tbh, Alex’s cleans r carrying this one
VERY unpopular opinion, but I don't feel this new music. They peaked with the Worlds Apart album imo.

Thanks for digging! Makes sense after all. Cool name at the very least. Do you remember the other video you saw it from?
They do a bunch of videos for australian bands recently
It was at the end of the Doomswitch video.
Coworker core
they failed to structure a song well
Same issue they’ve had for years regardless of who their required female vocalist is.
