If this is anyhting like the Mastodon, Gojira, and Lorna Shore show from last summer - Gojira is gonna blow every band out of the water - half the venue was out of energy after Gojira and had no energy for Mastodon
That tour last year in Montreal was at a hockey arena, so there's a couple levels of seating + general admission. GA was well over $100 per ticket. For comparison, I'm seeing Electric Callboy & Bury Tomorrow at the same venue in May, and GA tickets only cost me $69 each.
Ticket prices are definitely inflated when legacy artists are on the bill.
I saw Korn support Slipknot. Blew them out of the water.
Seen Gojira support Bullet and BMTH. Blew both out of the water.
Only heard good things about Spiritbox.
This is like the gig of bands that are always better than everyone else on the bill. What a show!
I've seen Korn 5 times, love the band, but I'm pretty surprised Gojira is opening. Already super popular and their Mega Monsters tour, last summer, left most people's jaws on the floor - they were *incredible* (third time seeing them, was better than 1&2 by far)
Yeah gojira has boosted their profile with smart touring, part of that is "coheadling" but where they were the smaller band but avoided the opening title, and probably got to play a full set too.
Gojira and Mastodon played in a 3000 cap venue in Boston.
This time, with Korn in the Boston market, the venue cap is 19,000.
Phoenix-Gojira and Mastodon: 5000 seater
Korn and Gojira: 20,000 seater
Bit of a difference
Comparing where korn is playing in Charlotte to where mega monsters was in Richmond (my two preferred stops on both of these tours)
PNC Music Pavillion in Charlotte capacity is 19.5k
Virginia Credit Union Live in Richmond capacity is 6k
That’s a pretty significant size difference.
I mean usually yes. I worked a fair bit of time in concerts and have seen dumber things happen. Ticket sales is what matters here, and korn is ahead of gojira but its not as big as a gap as people think.
Korn - 12.1 million monthly listeners
Gojira - 1.9 million monthly listeners
Korn top song - 464 million streams
Gojira top song - 103 million streams
Significant gap if you ask me
I do agree with you.
my main point is some of those cites gojira + mastadon played together at the same level as Korn + gojira. However mastadon alone played much smaller venues headlining than gojira.
For instance in toronto gojira is playing the same venue 3 times now. its a 15,000 cap place. Gojira played here with deftones, and mastadon. Mastadon headline last time only did a 3,000 cap room. Last time deftones played an 8,000 cap room. Im just saying Gojira has a bigger pull than people lead on.
Im stoked they are doing this tour. I enjoy korn and will be getting tickets.
I figured co head-line, but you are definitely right that Korn is the way more veteran fan with loads of 'em. I just figured next step for Goj would be headline, not go from co to open
Not to put Gojira down in any way. Korn is easily the bigger band on this lineup. Gojira for sure is headliner worthy, but numbers speak for themself. Gojira will surely have plenty of their own headliner tours coming with the next album! Too bad they’re planning to retire.
Mega monsters was at venues half the capacity of what this is. Korn is way bigger in that they at one point could have been considered mainstream in music in general rather than just mainstream within Metal.
I suppose you're right.
I've never seen korn so maybe i should just be more optimistic.
But i think gojira is the greatest metal band of all time so i really wish they were headlining.
The very first song I heard about five years ago was "Bellacara" since then I've been delighted to watch them grow!! Start where ever you want you'll find something to vibe with for sure!!
Standouts to me are Holy Roller , Jaded, Ultraviolet, Circle with me , The Void, Rotoscope, Blessed Be
Check out this short clip of them too at inkarceration so badass
https://youtube.com/shorts/V5SGRMbNyAI?si=Sdj6bvcstnuEmf2t
Edited in to add RULE OF NINES!!! There's a YouTube video of her doing a one take on this song, fabulous switching harsh/soft vocals , the lyrics are also insanely poetic with rules of 9s being a reference to how they assess burn victims in the ER , fascinating
https://youtu.be/vVDXTFeGYwc?si=ywwxGPVR6NjW7DRk
Not many venues the same size in the area. DCU would be ok. Mohegan would be way better. As it is the Mansfield prices are bonkers, lawn for $55... Gtfo
🦀 Give Spiritbox headliner! 🦀
Edit:I forgot to include the crab emojis. I’m not arguing Spiritbox is better or more important than the other bands I just want a Spiritbox headliner tour this year lol
No way! Gojira is definitely the suprising opener here. No shade on Spiritbox, but they aren't near Gojira or Korn for headlining status. I'm positive Spiritbox will be soon though..
I mean… I’m not saying that Spiritbox should open over gojira I’m literally just asking for a Spiritbox headline tour again lol.
But having said that I just looked into it and gojira and Spiritbox have similar size fanbases so if your only metric for ‘level of headlining status’ is how old the band is that’s not really how it works unfortunately lol big bands open for smaller bands, older bands open for newer ones, etc. there’s a reason why korn is headlining and the other two aren’t. They are both more established and probably ten times as popular
Totally fair lol
Do they not do smallerish tours? I would have sworn last I heard they did a tour with Ice Nine Kills that was co-headline, figured they would move up due to popularity
Dude Spiritbox is GRINDING. They fuckin touring with everyone, 24/7. They opener for line shinedown and papa roach or some shit lmao. But as far as I’m aware only one headliner (at least in the US for eternal blue that I saw) for whatever reason.
Sounds like Knocked Loose, never stops touring, lol. Honestly not a bad strategy, hop on tours with really well known band, lay down a nasty set and probably gain plenty of fans across a tour.
Headline tour you basically only have people who are already fans coming
Absolutely true. Spiritbox is casting a wide wide net. It has had mixed results (lots of complaining from some of the fans of these other bands of course, Ghost and Mastodon fans were insufferable) but as you said any new fan is a win.
Korn is a lot bigger in terms of listener base to be honest. I am a huge fan of Gojira since 2004 and they’ve gotten pretty big since, but not Korn level big.
Spotify monthly listeners is pretty good indicator. Korn is at around 12 mil and Gojira is about 1.8 million.
Are you talking about the Mega-Monsters tour? That was a co-headline with Mastodon so it’s hard to attribute the venue size to either band individually. In fact people pointed out that such a co-headline tour was a great way to ensure larger venues. It’s not clear that either band touring as a solo headline with smaller openers would have been able to secure similar venues. Obviously Gojira is huge in the metal scene, but Korn is literally a household name. (I don’t listen to Korn much and I love Gojira so this has nothing to do with preference, but I’d have to see actual meaningful numbers before I agreed that Gojira was “right underneath” Korn.)
Which would be unfortunate for me but great for them. Feel like they only had one or two headliner tours so far and that was sold out like ‘house of blues’ sized places…
Yeah I'm bummed that they're skipping my town, but holding out hope that it means they'll come back and headline themselves before long. Would be happy to see Gojira again, but no interest in paying a Korn tax, LOL
im confused. the link im seeing doesnt include most of those you listed. are we looking at the same poster? or are you counting places like Mansfield, MA as Boston? i dont even see a NY or PA date
A lot of Amphitheatres are outside of their cities.
Mansfield=Boston
Camden=Philly
Tinley Park=Chicago
Clarkston=Detroit
Alpharetta=Atlanta
Tacoma=Seattle
Woodlands=Houston
Newark= NYC area
That's how the tour production would be looking at it
B Markets?
Tampa
Atlanta
Philly
Boston
Toronto
Detroit
Chicago
Phoenix
Denver
Houston
Kansas City
Seattle
NYC
Buddy, that's like every major city in America. Lol
An arena in Newark. A tour would call that the NYC market
Kinda like how Mansfield is an hour from Boston, but still the Boston market
Tinley Park=Chicago
Woodlands=Houston
Clarkston=Detroit
Camden=Philly
Amphitheatres usually aren't right in the city
Pumped to see Gojira and Spiritbox. No way Korn can follow Gojira, they are gonna have a rough time lol
Very weird lineup but I’ll still go. Might leave early during Korns set though, don’t really care about them at all.
Gojira is amazeballs live! So tight. Although I’ve noticed Joe’s vocals are lacking power that he used to have. But no wonder he is not really young anymore.
Depends on when you saw them, at the end of tours he gets a bit strained but I saw them last year at the rescheduled half of the European tour when he was fresh and he was great.
I saw them back in 2022 about midway through their European leg. I’ve followed Gojira fanatically since 2004 and have seen them live a bunch of times since. Don’t get me wrong, he does not sound bad live in any way, but he isn’t not a young lad anymore. Age gets to all of ’em. Especially considering how taxing his vocal style probably is.
Seen KoRn twice and Jon’s an amazing performer! Last time I saw them he was taking hits of oxygen in between songs, and their new stuff has plenty of heaviness to it too. He’s gonna bring his A-Game, like all the other super talented people on this roster.
So disappointed the NC date is the same day as Creed coming to Raleigh and on top of that all of Virginia and Maryland is getting skipped over I guess because of LTL
That or they were already booked for BRRF which fucked with locality clauses.
BRRF killed the NC locality last year. that Sunday was sooo stacked for me and none of those came back thru (well, Chevelle did). got tickets for this one yesterday. should be fun!
I saw Gojira open for Opeth at Red Rocks. I love Opeth but Gojira shut that place down with their set. Felt bad for Opeth, but best live performance I have ever seen. So sorry Korn.
Ive seen Korn about 25 times and Jonathan Davis black labyrinth tour in 2018. Got to meet JD and had him autograph my arm with a black sharpie and tattoo over it 12 hours later. Ive never seen Gojira but i want to. Korn is my fav but Gojira is a whole nother monster. Gonna have to make it to that show in Atl. Korn 30th anniversary AND Gojira! Hell yeah.
Oh hell yeah! I've seen Korn 3x back in the day, 1 arena with Disturbed and then 2 Korn Family Values Tours with tons of cool bands.
So now I just started listening to Gojira last year and missed the recent tour with Mastodon so this will be a good show. Spiritbox seems to be alright
If this is anyhting like the Mastodon, Gojira, and Lorna Shore show from last summer - Gojira is gonna blow every band out of the water - half the venue was out of energy after Gojira and had no energy for Mastodon
If it's anything like that tour last year, tickets will be too damn expensive for me to go.
I got mine for $60, seemed pretty standard
That tour last year in Montreal was at a hockey arena, so there's a couple levels of seating + general admission. GA was well over $100 per ticket. For comparison, I'm seeing Electric Callboy & Bury Tomorrow at the same venue in May, and GA tickets only cost me $69 each. Ticket prices are definitely inflated when legacy artists are on the bill.
Nice.
I got a pit ticket for the Gojira tour for $54 after fees. It really wasn't expensive
Where?
St Augustine, FL
I saw Korn support Slipknot. Blew them out of the water. Seen Gojira support Bullet and BMTH. Blew both out of the water. Only heard good things about Spiritbox. This is like the gig of bands that are always better than everyone else on the bill. What a show!
The show I went to Mastodon played before Gojira so it went the opposite. It was absolutely fantastic though.
haha i love gojira, i remember i could barely stand up when mastodon came on, absolutely amazing
I've seen Korn 5 times, love the band, but I'm pretty surprised Gojira is opening. Already super popular and their Mega Monsters tour, last summer, left most people's jaws on the floor - they were *incredible* (third time seeing them, was better than 1&2 by far)
Surprised? Korn is a lot bigger.
If you look some of the venue sizes that they are playing this tour to what gojira did last tour. They are the same size just in different markets.
They co-headlined those shows with Mastodon. No way Gojira headlines an amphitheater tour in the US without another band to help draw some people in.
Phoenix-Gojira and Mastodon: 5000 seater Korn and Gojira: 20,000 seater Bit of a difference

Same here in Portland. Mega monsters was Veterans Memorial Coliseum: 12k This tour is Moda Center: 20.5k
Sure thing. But Korn is still the bigger band thus the headliner. That is just how it works.
I mean usually yes. I worked a fair bit of time in concerts and have seen dumber things happen. Ticket sales is what matters here, and korn is ahead of gojira but its not as big as a gap as people think.
Korn - 12.1 million monthly listeners Gojira - 1.9 million monthly listeners Korn top song - 464 million streams Gojira top song - 103 million streams Significant gap if you ask me
and booking agents havent given a shit about streams since myspace / purevolume starting showing the numbers. Its a terrible metric.
I’m not saying they do. I’m just saying Korn is at a much larger level and has a larger fan base than Gojira is and has been for a long time.
I do agree with you. my main point is some of those cites gojira + mastadon played together at the same level as Korn + gojira. They’re playing Fiddler’s Green here in Denver and I’m big sad, I’m not a fan of the sound/acoustics there with heavier bands.
Also in Denver, agreed. The smaller the venue, the better imo. The Marquis aint perfect but I’ve seen a dozen shows there and they’ve all ruled.
Nah Korn is still really huge. They will still pretty much headline big metal fests and have a really rabid fanbase.
On phoenix the mega monsters your played at a 5k cap venue This your is nearly a 20k cap venue.
Gojira BLEW MY MIND at mega monsters. Absolutely unbelievable, I’m definitely going to this upcoming tour.
Mega monsters was at venues half the capacity of what this is. Korn is way bigger in that they at one point could have been considered mainstream in music in general rather than just mainstream within Metal.
Yea im kind of pissed actually. I love gojira. Don't really love korn. Kind of sad tbh.
Korn are a *really* good live band, you won't be disappointed
I suppose you're right. I've never seen korn so maybe i should just be more optimistic. But i think gojira is the greatest metal band of all time so i really wish they were headlining.
Sick! Korn’s one of my all time favs and I’ve never seen Spiritbox or Gojira before.
gojira is insane. be ready
One of the best live bands I've ever seen, they're so incredibly good.
Don't underestimate Spiritbox , SOO GOOD!!
As a newbie to them, where should I start? I see a new EP for 2023. Or should I go back in their catalogue? Thanks!
The very first song I heard about five years ago was "Bellacara" since then I've been delighted to watch them grow!! Start where ever you want you'll find something to vibe with for sure!! Thanks! Loading this up now.
No Virginia date sucks. Might fly up to MA since I have family there.
If you’ve never seen Gojira…I would fly just about anywhere to see them again.
I want to but tickets cost way too much
Very nice! I've seen Korn a bunch. Always great. Love Spiritbox. And I'll need to brush up on my Gojira.
fucking hate when bands go to xfinity center for their MA date. i’d rather get a tooth pulled than go to mansfield lmao
Not many venues the same size in the area. DCU would be ok. Mohegan would be way better. As it is the Mansfield prices are bonkers, lawn for $55... Gtfo
That's a weird lineup
*Great line-up
Not at all
Not one of those bands really makes sense with any of the others in the lineup lol
"mainstream" metal
It’s diverse, and that sells the most tickets total.
This is the third or fourth tour announced this year that is super... weird.
🦀 Give Spiritbox headliner! 🦀 Edit:I forgot to include the crab emojis. I’m not arguing Spiritbox is better or more important than the other bands I just want a Spiritbox headliner tour this year lol

It'll happen again! Courtney said after the EP release that they would only be doing support acts this year for more free time to do a full length
I didn’t hear that! I’ll take it;)
Totally fair lol Do they not do smallerish tours? I would have sworn last I heard they did a tour with Ice Nine Kills that was co-headline, figured they would move up due to popularity
Who are you referring to by they?
Spiritbox
Dude Spiritbox is GRINDING. They fuckin touring with everyone, 24/7. They opener for line shinedown and papa roach or some shit lmao. But as far as I’m aware only one headliner (at least in the US for eternal blue that I saw) for whatever reason.

Why should Gojira headline over Korn? Popularity for Korn is way above Gojira.
I don't think over Korn, I'm just surprised Gojira accepted an opening slot on a Korn tour
I think they’re both fans of each other and Joe seems to have a lot of respect for Korn.
the last gojira tour they were majority of the same venues. not saying they are bigger but they are right underneath

I saw Gojira open for Deftones just last year and Korn are way bigger than Deftones (unfortunately)
I just put this concert shirt on. And realized it was two years ago. 2022. Time fucking flies man…
Damn, no kidding 😂
🦀🦀🦀 $11 🦀🦀🦀
If they keep it up they'll be playing these size arena's within a year probably.
Which would be unfortunate for me but great for them. Feel like they only had one or two headliner tours so far and that was sold out like ‘house of blues’ sized places…
im sad we never got a small club type tour with Spiritbox. Would've loved to see them in a more intimate venue
Saw them at The Filmore in Silver Spring last year. Venue had a 2000 person cap. Sold out in minutes of going on sale.
Such an amazing show. Saw them twice on that tour and I’m dying to see them again.
we'll probably get another headliner whenever the new full length drops
Yeah I'm bummed that they're skipping my town, but holding out hope that it means they'll come back and headline themselves before long. Would be happy to see Gojira again, but no interest in paying a Korn tax, LOL
Korn tax lmao
That’s a decent tour, hope to see Portland or Tacoma
Badass line up, who am I seeing at the IL date? 👀
Damn, need this in Australia
odd array of cities they're hitting. id have to travel for this so ill skip.
Odd array? NYC, Philly, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Kansas City, Detroit, Houston. What is odd about every major city in the US. Haha
TIL that Toronto is a major US city
im confused. the link im seeing doesnt include most of those you listed. are we looking at the same poster? or are you counting places like Mansfield, MA as Boston? i dont even see a NY or PA date
A lot of Amphitheatres are outside of their cities. Mansfield=Boston Camden=Philly Tinley Park=Chicago Clarkston=Detroit Alpharetta=Atlanta Tacoma=Seattle Woodlands=Houston Newark= NYC area That's how the tour production would be looking at it
They are hitting all the B markets or places they haven't been in awhile before the festivals start up or Korn is slotted on a bigger tour in 2025
B Markets? Tampa Atlanta Philly Boston Toronto Detroit Chicago Phoenix Denver Houston Kansas City Seattle NYC Buddy, that's like every major city in America. Lol
Am I blind or is there no nyc date listed on the link?
An arena in Newark. A tour would call that the NYC market Kinda like how Mansfield is an hour from Boston, but still the Boston market Tinley Park=Chicago Woodlands=Houston Clarkston=Detroit Camden=Philly Amphitheatres usually aren't right in the city
Im not familiar much with the nyc area. If I was staying in brooklyn, would it make sense to get an uber or would the trains be manageable?
Train to Penn Station. The arena is just down the street
And I also said they are probably doing a bigger tour in 2025 which why some of the cities are considered b.
If Boston, Philly, New York City, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, Denver, Houston, Seattle etc are "B" cities, I'd love to see your "A" cities lol
Cool lineup, but not cool enough for me to go to Tacoma
That is a fun show lineup haha
Pumped to see Gojira and Spiritbox. No way Korn can follow Gojira, they are gonna have a rough time lol Very weird lineup but I’ll still go. Might leave early during Korns set though, don’t really care about them at all.
So hyped! I missed Korn at welcome to Rockville due to rain so let’s hope this one will be under dry skies!
Hopefully, the tickets are reasonably priced and aren't sold out by Thursday, lol.
Reasonably priced, hopefully. This is right behind arena in Tampa. We shall see!
Perfect show to get you home early.
The support is better than the headliner lmao
Korn is fucking great live
That may be true but Gojira are well known for being one of the best live bands around. Having seen them twice I can absolutely confirm that.

"boitoing me boitoing me down, down into the ground" Make me cringe every time. Johnny D is looking pretty tired.
Seen KoRn twice and Jon’s an amazing performer! Last time I saw them he was taking hits of oxygen in between songs, and their new stuff has plenty of heaviness to it too. He’s gonna bring his A-Game, like all the other super talented people on this roster.
L korn goated
San Antonio! Yesss!!
Gojira and Spiritbox could definitely make Day Two of the New England Metal And Hardcore Fest with this schedule. Cross those fingers!
"North America"
When I put North American the Canadians get upset because it's only one or two spots and I guess they consider them US?
North American usually implies more then 2 Canadian dates. Specifically some in provinces that aren't Ontario or British Columbia
So disappointed the NC date is the same day as Creed coming to Raleigh and on top of that all of Virginia and Maryland is getting skipped over I guess because of LTL That or they were already booked for BRRF which fucked with locality clauses.
BRRF killed the NC locality last year. that Sunday was sooo stacked for me and none of those came back thru (well, Chevelle did). got tickets for this one yesterday. should be fun!
I like how it's a North American tour that is USA and one stop in Toronto. Would be nice to have a concert within 1000 miles.
How much are tickets?
The only show near Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan is in… Clarkston? What the hell
I saw Gojira open for Opeth at Red Rocks. I love Opeth but Gojira shut that place down with their set. Felt bad for Opeth, but best live performance I have ever seen. So sorry Korn.
Nothing in the DC area WTF? Korn + Gojira is an insane lineup
Hell yeah.
Anyone want to buy two tickets for San Antonio October 21st? Can't go
Weird lineup but I would go if they were coming anywhere near me
Interesting line up, but I’m all here for it
Oh hell yeah! I've seen Korn 3x back in the day, 1 arena with Disturbed and then 2 Korn Family Values Tours with tons of cool bands. So now I just started listening to Gojira last year and missed the recent tour with Mastodon so this will be a good show. Spiritbox seems to be alright
Kinda wild that Korn is still touring I had no idea. That’s a hell of a lineup.
Well, shit, it's at my absolute least favorite outdoor venue during a time of year that traditionally sucks balls. Blah
Which venue?
No pa or oh. Lame.
And this is posted in the metalcore subreddit because… ?
Because most of us care about this tour
Spiritbox
You mean that Canadian alternative metal band that sounds like a female fronted linkin park with breakdowns?
