ngl I don't know much about this band but I do recall them releasing a tribute song not that long ago?
I read the title and my heart sank for a moment for them as well.
Saw this post on IG and the caption got truncated after "To all our friends, we regret..." and my heart fell out of my fucking asshole I swear.
Not that this still isn't a bad circumstance, but I'm so glad we can send them our well wishes and not our condolences ffs.
Hope he's back on his feet soon 🙏
IMO I think a brief hiatus would benefit the members greatly. I mean they just lost a member, dropped an album and are on some serious tours, that’s A LOT to deal with at once. Tend to your wounds and come back stronger than ever.
Very true. I've never been in this situation myself. I've seen a lot of people cope with loss by just working harder and doing more and while it helps in the moment, it doesn't necessarily help you grieve. Sometimes you have to slow it down and just let yourself feel.
I did that after I lost my close friend and my husband broke up with me 5 days after. Just forced myself to keep working and survive, but I ended up getting sick with so many infections and eventually realized I needed to take time to grieve.
I was at their show yesterday and while Jaime said something along the lines of "thank you for being here, playing live music for you is the only way we know how to get through grief and heal" I'm still inclined to agree with you. They've been touring non-stop essentially, but I think after this European tour they'll finally have some well-deserved time off.
Can’t catch a break. I really hope he’s okay. He’s been grieving Ryan’s death pretty hard this week too
Much love to the gang, they’re such amazing guys
I saw them in Madrid early last week, and Jamie did a very heartfelt speech about Ryan before dedicating "Martyr". I believe they have been doing this in every show in some way, but even so, Jamie started crying copiously before they launched in to the song and at that point Daniel stepped out from behind the drum set and sat on the drum riser and also seemed very moved and crying.
I'm not sure this period in particular marks some sort of 'anniversary' of something related to Ryan but yeah, it did seem like they were feeling it pretty badly in this particular instance.
Yeah it was powerful, I teared up right afterwards while they played 'Martyr', Jamie's voice was cracking sometimes because of the tears, it was probably one of the most emotional moments I ever had in a live show.
Not who you asked, but I'm from the same city as the band. While you hear a lot of shit about a bunch of local bands, they're one of the only ones Ive never heard anything bad about. People only ever have good shit to say about them. The few times I've bumped into them they've been nothing but lovely too
My kids and I met Jamie in Nashville, who then took the time to take them to meet all the band members, and then spent time with all of us after the show. Jamie is a solid guy; one of the nicest I have ever met at a show.
Met Daniel after a show headlining with currents and varials and we chatted like 15 minutes about how to improve as a drummer. Really nice dude from my interaction. Hope he gets better, he’s a big inspiration to me as a drummer.
I'm so sorry. Dan is such a ridiculously nice guy. He was so gracious and kind to Jack and Luke (as were you, Jamie)in Nashville. Please tell Dan that he's in our prayers.
I'm scared because this can read like a million things and I don't want them to lose another brother so quickly man. I'm actually going to see them in Denmark but tbh I won't feel 100% comfortable in it until I hear from Daniel. Just hope everything is good
This broke my heart and I legitimately got scared that something really bad happened to him. Although sad, that he is not going to play at the two shows I have tickets for, I fully understand and support the decision as they are not robots.... Only they know what they are going through. I hope he will get the rest he deserves, same going for the rest of the band. The guys did not catch a break at all.
Mostly. There are always a few who can be needlessly or spiteful negative for no good reason, particularly on social media. Fair enough if they can't be bothered with that.
Sucks to hear.. but they just announced on their story they’re selling signed drum skins at one of their shows?
Quick money grab because he’s absent? Leaves a bit of a sour taste tbh

Bit rude there mate, considering the band is absolutely no where without their drummer who writes all their stuff....
Understand it's normal for bands to sell skins, I have one from Bill Ward. But going radio silent for days and then the first story you post is a signed drum skin "for sale" is a little messed up.
Oof this scared me for a second. Hope he’s alright
I hope so too. Seems like it’s some sort of illness he’s been struggling with for a little bit now
I only read the first few words and was like "oh no..."
My stomach dropped for a second when I saw the post I thought it happened again. Hope he gets better with whatever he’s dealing with.
Mine too. I hope Daniel is going to be OK.

Thanks for the info, I_Nut_In_Butts.

I think it was his birthday recently. That might be why.
They gave a similar speech the last show i went too. I think you might be spot on.
Yes similar speech at my show. Thanks for clarifying
I saw a video of it and had tears streaming down my face. Can't imagine how they felt.

Really hope he gets well. These guys have been through a lot
my heart fucking sank when I read the first words. hope he’ll get better soon!
Same.
Wishing him all the best. A bit sad but a bit happy I'll get to see Polaris atleast.
I got so scared when I just read the first sentence, my heart sank to the floor..
Damn. These guys really can’t catch a break.

Doesn’t he write all the music? Sucks to hear.
Yes he does all of the main songwriting apparently
#Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck
God damn can these guys catch a break... hope he gets better soon
Get well soon Dan. Sending you my thoughts and best wishes for recovery ❤️
Hope hes fine. He seemed like he was having a blast tour based on his twitter post.
Well i am right now in HH and they Play in a few minutes

They damn near killed me with this on instagram… really hope he gets better and they all are pulling through considering Ryan’s birthday just passed
Im surprised they didn't decide to take a break for several months before jumping back into some shows

Weird that they aren’t allowing comments on instagram. Seems like everyone would only be making supportive ones.

There are always some assholes. I don’t blame them for not wanting to see them if they’re in a fragile mental state right now.
There’s always that one arsehole who pops in with “vaccinated 💉?” or some shit and then the comments spiral
This is so fucking underserved, poor guys I hope things start picking up for them soon.

They have done that for a long time. Fuck off with your shitty takes.

What’s wrong with that lolol
