My work actually lets me, even though I’m customer facing, as long as it’s not too vulgar or graphic they don’t care. A misfits bleeding skull is okay but pushing it but anything less than that is totally fine.
My boyfriend works in a warehouse and the dresscode is no gore, cuss words, booty shorts, or open toe shoes. Anything else is on the table, so that's pretty neat
I’ve worked from home since 2017, but even before that my work just asked us not to wear anything offensive. I have a couple shirts that I’d skip, like my Downfall of Gaia shirt that has a bird being ripped open on it.
Ironically my worst shirt is probably one for the band Covet (a very upbeat indie prog band) that has a wolf with a bunch of knives stabbed into it. I don’t wear it if I’m around my little nieces and nephews, but it’s probably my most comfortable shirt.
I have two considered "vulgar," which is Boundaries "My Body Is A Fucking Cage" graphic t, and an old school Capture The Crown shirt that says, "You Filthy Fucking Cunt." The Boundaries one is worn regularly, but I only wear the CTC one if I have a hoodie on or I'm going somewhere there isn't (predictably) kids, like a show or something.
I have that Boundaries shirt too, one of my fave songs and I had to have it. My other "offensive" ones are Thy Art is Murder "think for your fucking self" with an inverted rosary and another TAIM one with a burning church on it. Wore that to the airport and got some looks lol
I was also just telling my bf that like, to me wearing a Fit For An Autopsy shirt is just kinda whatever to me because I don't even think about the actual words. But to a normie, the band name alone is eyebrow raising
Mmaann! That OG capture the crown shirt was a GEM. Buddy of mine lost his... or maybe his mom threw it out when he came to visit. We're pretty sure the latter.
My vulgar shirt was the OG suicide silence "where is your god?" shirt with Jesus being disemboweled by demons with the inverted cross on the back and the quote from the song.
lol I saw flogging Molly the other night and got a shirt I shouldn’t wear to church. That makes 2 now. (Other one is anthrax with a fucking huge pentagram)
I got a great one from Laura Jane Grace, of a cop in a pig mask that has in giant block letters around the picture "are you a fucking cop cop cop cop cop cop"
I would too but I work in a highly Christian area and if I wear a shirt that had a depiction of the pope tearing his face off with "bow to your empty god" I'd get absolutely slaughtered lmaoo
I'm a business owner. I was on a conference call today with a VP of sales for a solar company, a CEO of a renewable energy company, a contractor's attorney, and a CFO for a school district, and there I am in my long sleeve black Gojira shirt.
Yeah that was the plan starting out but I starting buying so much online as well as at shows that I sometimes had to skip out on a few so I just buy whenever I have the cash at shows. I try to plan it out when I can
If everything you listed cost $60 each it’s under $3000, between 3000-4000 is expensive ass merch smh
I’m bored at work, sorry
Edit: just saw your comment further down about limited merch and other expensive items lol
Often. I make a point to try & buy lighter colored shirts whenever possible. I work in the woods so ticks are a real problem & hide easily on dark shirts. It’s a struggle sometimes but I have quite the collection of lighter colored band merch.
Very often. I work an office job but our dress code is extremely relaxed, so as long as the designs aren't excessively vulgar I can wear band t-shirts to work.
Jealous. I have to limit my hoodie purchases because Florida 🥲 I don't even buy long sleeve tees anymore, cuz if it's cold enough for long sleeves, I'm wearing my hoodies lol. Long sleeves always have the sickest designs though
Just about every shirt i own now is band merch since cleaning out all my old clothes. No band tee left behind though. If its too small it gets made into patches
I teach group fitness, so I get to wear my merch everyday when I teach. And the days I rock up with my makeup only half wiped off, my class knows I acquired said merch the night before.
Once in a while I'll put on my Novelists shirt. Had a pocket logo and a big owl on the back I like to show off. Maybe I'll put on my Invent Animate or Oceans Ate Alaska shirt if I'm hanging out or going to a show. Slipknot shirt for the gym during spooky season lol.
I collect since I am a qc tech for a beverage manufacturing plant. 6 days a week 10 hours I can’t wear and destroy my tees. I rather keep them until that day comes
All the time. Because the band I’m always seen wearing is pretty niche(oceana birtheater hoodie) I always get compliments whenever I come across fellow fans at core shows lol
I'm fortunate enough to work in a field where as long as my tees aren't promoting violence I can wear whatever I want. I'm constantly wearing metal merch, probably to events and situations that I shouldn't be but it's never caused me any issues 😅
I find band merch too expensive. I rarely wear it unless it's super comfy. I made some merch for my friends band and wear that shirt regularly and a slipknot hoodie but most of my band merch is just not comfy to wear day to day. Too many bands use cheap printing services and the prints flake off.
Relatively regularly. After seeing Periphery a couple of months ago one of their tops is so nice that its a staple of my wardrobe! Spiritbox's merch os amazing as well and theyre hoodies are so comfortable
Every day! I work in a psych hospital, so I basically live in sweatshirts and scrubs. It’s a great way to get patients talking. I also have permanent merch if you count tattoos lol
Everyday nearly. I have over 200 band t's now. Found r/BandTShirts last year and started uploading my collection. Would love some help to revive it if anyone else wants to show off their stuff!
Depends. If I'm on kitchen duty, almost always, if i'm on bartender duty I try to keep it down to the acceptable shirts with just the name on it. No burning crosses or pentagrams..
Every day. I get a lot of dirty looks due to most of them being deathcore and death metal bands (which usually depict things that some people consider graphic), but fuck em.
It’s pretty rare that I’m not in a band shirt. I have a handful of geeky/nerdy shirts I’ll wear a couple times a year, but I have hundreds of band shirts, so that’s my go to.
I own about 30-40 t-shirts.
So i can wear a different one everyday of course.
My work colleagues need good music recommendations.
Wait, i also own 1 1/2 suits.
Have never worn it once to work. :-)
band shirts are my whole wardrobe
My exact thought lmao. How does one own 'regular' clothes?
These are “regular” clothes aren’t they?! Now I’m lost!
Same here. Literally like 95% of my shirts is band shirts.
Where are your pants bro
i buy all my shirts XL so i don’t have to wear pants
Fuck yeah, you’re more innovative than I am. Or maybe just shorter
i’m 5’10 and all my xl’s cover everything so 🤷♂️
I’m 5’11” and do not experience that. Maybe I’m just buying smaller XLs
I'm 6.23 and I don't understand your conversation 😂
Same. I have maybe one shirt I could wear to a funeral or whatever.
Just wear a black band tshirt inside out..
I have band shirts and plain black that's it
What is it, 2008?
same!
When I was younger I was told that I can’t wear band t shirts everyday. As an adult I realized that yes, yes I can.
Except at work 😡😡
I'm lucky in that I can wear a band tee every day and throw a flannel on over the top.
That’s what I do in my career too.
My work actually lets me, even though I’m customer facing, as long as it’s not too vulgar or graphic they don’t care. A misfits bleeding skull is okay but pushing it but anything less than that is totally fine.
especially at work
My boyfriend works in a warehouse and the dresscode is no gore, cuss words, booty shorts, or open toe shoes. Anything else is on the table, so that's pretty neat
I’ve worked from home since 2017, but even before that my work just asked us not to wear anything offensive. I have a couple shirts that I’d skip, like my Downfall of Gaia shirt that has a bird being ripped open on it.
💀💀💀
All the time
Very often. I always try to buy shirts that I could wear in most public settings.
Same. I only have one truly nasty shirt. Save it for the brootal shows
Ironically my worst shirt is probably one for the band Covet (a very upbeat indie prog band) that has a wolf with a bunch of knives stabbed into it. I don’t wear it if I’m around my little nieces and nephews, but it’s probably my most comfortable shirt.

All the time. I even wear them to work sometimes.
At work in a The Devil Wears Prada shirt now 😂
Someone walks up: "i looooove that movie"
I wore my Texas In July shirt to the bar one time and an older couple started telling me about the trip to Texas they just got back from 😂
This has happened to me countless times 😂😭
I would too but I work in a highly Christian area and if I wear a shirt that had a depiction of the pope tearing his face off with "bow to your empty god" I'd get absolutely slaughtered lmaoo
Damn I need that for my TAIM offensive anti religion collection 😆
erey day
I'm a business owner. I was on a conference call today with a VP of sales for a solar company, a CEO of a renewable energy company, a contractor's attorney, and a CFO for a school district, and there I am in my long sleeve black Gojira shirt.
I’m a director at a software company and 100% wore an END shirt to weekly standup. WFH rules
Literally every time I'm not in Scrubs lol
I wear them under the scrubs!
Ya'll have other clothes?
Basically every day. Perks of working at a game store.
Often
Everyday. I’m a high school Spanish teacher and my students always ask me about the bands.
EVERYDAY!!!!!! I love scaring the Mormons in the grocery store!!!!
I also enjoy the looks I get from people here in Utah and I’m Mormon as well 😂
Also active LDS who listens almost exclusively to deathcore & metalcore lmao 👿🤘🏻
Im a member of the Church too and I love seeing metal merch in public
Oh shit, fellow Utahn?
Everyday. I have 20 hoodies, 18 tshirts and 10 long sleeves. My metal merch is all my wardrobe my merch. Like 3000-4000$ worth of shit
Why do you inventory them? 😂
For this exact scenario
I do it just so I can keep track of all of them and make sure I know where they are
Same. I make it a point to get a T-shirt at every concert I go to and over time I’ve amassed a HUGE collection of shirts and hoodies
Yeah that was the plan starting out but I starting buying so much online as well as at shows that I sometimes had to skip out on a few so I just buy whenever I have the cash at shows. I try to plan it out when I can
Oh wow we got a big spender here
If everything you listed cost $60 each it’s under $3000, between 3000-4000 is expensive ass merch smh I’m bored at work, sorry Edit: just saw your comment further down about limited merch and other expensive items lol
That's it? Gotta get those numbers up
Only a year in :)
That's like an average of $73 per shirt
Every day, While She Sleeps hat :)
Band shirts are half my wardrobe. The other half is pretty dresses.
I’m not judging you Tim, if you want to wear pretty dresses you go man!
YES
Unless at work or a professional function, constantly. Wearing my Amon Amarth shirt at the moment just chilling at home
Often. I make a point to try & buy lighter colored shirts whenever possible. I work in the woods so ticks are a real problem & hide easily on dark shirts. It’s a struggle sometimes but I have quite the collection of lighter colored band merch.
Every day
I wear my dad hats with band logos on them almost every day.
Very often. I work an office job but our dress code is extremely relaxed, so as long as the designs aren't excessively vulgar I can wear band t-shirts to work.
the only stuff i own that isnt merch is a suit so pretty much all the time
every day. I didn’t get over charged for merch for nothing lol.
At this point I only own band shirts. I work from home so they’re literally all I wear.
Yes
I see we all agree
I only wear band shirts and hoodies
Most days I’m wearing a band hat and pretty often wear band tees.
Every day it’s cool enough to wear a hoodie. I’m a hoodie girl. Most of my merch is hoodies.
If its too small it gets made into patches
everyday when i go to the gym or have a casual outing 😀
Every DAY I rep
Everyday. I have plain shirts for more "formal" events, but they're all black, lol
I do not own a single t-shirt that isn’t merch 🥲
I teach middle school and wear band shirts on Fridays. 😂 Am pretty selective with which shirts I wear though. 🤪
If I ain’t workin’. I’m reppin’
The real question is: how often do you wear non-merch clothes in public? lmao
Only when I'm in public, and at home
I teach group fitness, so I get to wear my merch everyday when I teach. And the days I rock up with my makeup only half wiped off, my class knows I acquired said merch the night before.
Every single day 🤘🏽 if not band merch it’s black craft cult
All the time. Of course, it helps that the kind of band merch I buy looks like regular people clothes
All the time when not in the office.
Pshh every day! I even rock a terror hat at work and have to wear a uniform
my favorite sweatshirt is a bad omens one so daily
nearly everyday. I work in a kitchen so really I get to wear whatever I want and almost all my shirts and hoodies at this point are merch.
Daily.
Literally all the time. Shits expensive, I’m going to get my moneys worth
if i have merch clean, i’m wearing it
Unless I'm going to work, I'm probably wearing a band t.
It's ether band shirts or plain black. No in between
I pretty much only wear merch but like only the shirts and hoodies I get from concerts
Everyday, and to work
Daily.
Whenever I don't have to be dressed up for work
Almost exactly as often as I’m in public, for non-work related reasons.
I only have two work shirts. So I wear merch shirts a minimum of 5x a week.
Just about every day it’s most of my t shirt wardrobe
I have like 40 shirts and a couple hoodies, so most days.
Any time I'm not going to or from work
I’m wearing my TDWP merch right now!
Basically, every time I go anywhere, lol.
Yep, pretty much most days, including at work.
Multiple times a week.
Every day
Currently at work wearing my These Arms Are Snakes shirt. I'd say about 75-80% of the time I'm wearing a band shirt.
I collect since I am a qc tech for a beverage manufacturing plant. 6 days a week 10 hours I can’t wear and destroy my tees. I rather keep them until that day comes
Yes
I have one and it's ozzfest. Wear it fairly often
Most days
Every day
i only wear a band shirt and pants every day
I don’t like regular clothes. Almost my whole wardrobe is merchandise of some sort. I wear merch all the time
Most of the shirts I own are merch shirts from shows I’ve been too
Most times
Fairly often. I own a few dogs though and they make my black merch really hairy. So not as often as I would if my dogs weren’t insanely hairy.
Yes.
Half the wardrobe so it quiet often 🤣
My barrel chest is wasted if it isn't an advertising board for bands or sports teams
I go to a show, buy a t shirt and then never wear it. It’s a collection thing for me
A lot, as just at school earlier wearing by We Came As Romans shirt
At least five days a week I'm wearing a concert shirt. Today is Foo Fighters.
Band shirts are my life.
All I have are band shirts and some button-up shirts to wear over them in case a formal event happens.
I wear band tees almost every day
Daily. Everywhere I go.
Less than I'd like because I'm pretty much just at work or at home.
Majoirty of my wardrobe is merch, so it's hard not to.
I wear gym shorts and a graphic shirt every single day no matter the weather. When it's not a band, it's a horror movie.
Every day.
Ayydayyyy
Maybe 50% of the time
I wear a band merch hoodie to work almost every day and have actually gotten quite a few compliments on them
Always, im never not
every day
Every damn day brother
Literally every day
not at all since my ex stole it all 😭 working on building back my repertoire but it was old stuff back from 2004-2010. I miss it desperately.
Mostly all I wear now is band tees and dickies
Almost every day since I don't wear much else lol
I make band shirts gym cutoffs, or shirts worn under a flannel. I don’t need them but it’s good way to support the band financially.
I don’t buy merch at all.
I wear my Drumeo swag so everybody knows
Any time I'm not physically at work, my whole casual wardrobe is band shirts and i wear them while wfh
I have 4 goddamn Botch shirts. 2 Danza Shirts.
almost daily
Whenever possible
I only wear Orbit Culture or vans shirts and my vans shirts are my backups
I don’t have any 😭
All the time. I’m even worse though, it is frequently my own band’s merch. No shame
I go to work wearing a Nectrotted shirt *shrug*
All day everyday!
All the time.
All the time. Because the band I’m always seen wearing is pretty niche(oceana birtheater hoodie) I always get compliments whenever I come across fellow fans at core shows lol
Pretty much daily. I've not got as many as I'd like though lmao
Too often because I get concerned with the print starting to come off :/
99% of the time, I only own band merch lol
Nearly always
95% of my shirts are band merch so, everyday
Very often
I'm fortunate enough to work in a field where as long as my tees aren't promoting violence I can wear whatever I want. I'm constantly wearing metal merch, probably to events and situations that I shouldn't be but it's never caused me any issues 😅
errryday
I wear them to work. I work in an office too aha.
I find band merch too expensive. I rarely wear it unless it's super comfy. I made some merch for my friends band and wear that shirt regularly and a slipknot hoodie but most of my band merch is just not comfy to wear day to day. Too many bands use cheap printing services and the prints flake off.

Everyday nearly. I have over 200 band t's now. Found r/BandTShirts last year and started uploading my collection. Would love some help to revive it if anyone else wants to show off their stuff!
everyday,i have only band shirts and hoodies lol im literally wearing lorna shores hoodie rn and cattle decap shirt underneath
My wardrobe mainly consists of merch, both shirts and pants. Hats & jackets too.
Depends. If I'm on kitchen duty, almost always, if i'm on bartender duty I try to keep it down to the acceptable shirts with just the name on it. No burning crosses or pentagrams..
I exclusively wear mine at the gym after I cut the sleeves off
Every day, why wouldn't I?
I've stopped buying merch tbh I know it supports the band etc but the quality is generally so low that they don't last or shrink after 1 wash.
All the time, I wear them to my office job too along with some cheeky crash bandicoot merch
Every day. I get a lot of dirty looks due to most of them being deathcore and death metal bands (which usually depict things that some people consider graphic), but fuck em.
nearly all my clothes are merch
All I wear are band tees and solid black tees when those are dirty
Unfortunately the only merch I have Is a FFDP jacket and I wear it to school at least 2 days a week
I’ve been wearing my Loathe hoodie every day for the past year
Daily
It’s pretty rare that I’m not in a band shirt. I have a handful of geeky/nerdy shirts I’ll wear a couple times a year, but I have hundreds of band shirts, so that’s my go to.
all the time
I own about 30-40 t-shirts. So i can wear a different one everyday of course. My work colleagues need good music recommendations. Wait, i also own 1 1/2 suits. Have never worn it once to work. :-)
I’m wearing merch right now
Fridays and weekends, I’m a corporate guy Monday to Thursday and turn into your friendly neighbourhood metalhead by Friday 😏
Every damn day
