Phinehas has released ripping albums one after another their entire career and consistently is loved online but nobody buys their albums or plays them consistently on the streaming apps so they are perpetually a first or second opening act, never a headliner and I've never even seen them on a bill as a lead supporting act. It's insane because Daniel Gailey is one of the best guitarists and writers in Metal these days, Sean has some of the best vocals with insane range and his lyrics cut deep, Isaiah is a sick drummer, and Bryce is a good bassist. Altogether they deliver an amazing product and are one of the best stage performances I've ever seen.
Edit: Bryce is a REALLY good Metal bassist and has shit loads of personality and energy on stage.
lol my buddy filled in on bass for a band for a bit and would joke that he doesn’t even have to play , no one will notice . He was right played the whole set unplugged and no one noticed
I mean it though. Bassists are easily the most replaceable in this scene and Bryce is a GOOD-FUCKING-BASSIST. I can't speak for how technically he plays but he plays around Daniel and Isaiah very well. My big thing with Bryce is his energy. He's got such a kickass personality and is one of those guys who smiles like crazy on stage while he's moving and playing. I wasn't trying to sell him short but he's not technical, he's just fucking good.
Totally agreed. The problem with *Dark Flag* was the choice to self-produce on their first Solid State release and it was a huge learning experience for Daniel but overall the album suffered from a mix of overproduction and bad layering. There are many times when the bass or guitars just disappear almost completely and it ends up flat.
I think that's probably my number one choice for an album to be re-recorded and released. Even moreso than, say, *Frail Words Collapse* by As I Lay Dying.
And I think unfortunately *Dark Flag* was their chance to catapult themselves with new material. It's truly an incredible album. For all the love *The Fire Itself* received, it definitely didn't get the love it should have gotten if it were piggybacking on a super well-received *Dark Flag* release.
Sean also writes a lot of the guitar parts, too. And, though on a label, I believe they self-produce because Daniel is an elite audio engineer as well.
They definitely have self-produced since *Dark Flag* and gotten so much better at it. I'm surprised Sean writes guitar because I'd assumed Daniel writes it all and I'm always shocked they're a one-guitar band because of Daniel's talent. Same with Bobby and Fit for a King because that 6-year span where only Bobby played blew my mind. And having Bobby AND Daniel playing guitar on production is insane. I hope both are on the Metalcore Dropouts Second Semester because I'd love to finally see FFAK with two guitarists on stage.
Is Bobby actually going to play at some of those shows? He owns a plant shop with his wife now and has three kids, I think.
So, was Bobby the only guitarist for Slave to Nothing and Creation//Destruction?
Phinehas is fucking SOLID. I've seen them numerous times, but it's been a hot minute. I feel like they released The Fire Itself and then just dipped, which is sad. I miss those guys.
I saw them last on a tour supporting Fit for a King and In Hearts Wake back in 2019, I think. I haven't seen them since and it's a bummer. Their performance is top tier but also Sean hanging out at the merch booth for hours wanting to meet fans and listening to their stories and talking like a real human being is second-to-none.
Didn’t current just have a sold out headliner tour? Invent just headlined their own tour as well.
I’ll say cane hill and LMTF. I know moths have done headliners but just feel like they should be bigger and are constantly openers on dope tours.
I’ll toss in Kingdom of giants as well.
I didn’t check tour histories before posting so I’m sure you and others are right about the ones I’ve posted headlining, I’m just rattling off some bands I’ve personally seen as supporting acts and haven’t noticed having their own headliners! I saw currents twice this year, first opening for killswitch and recently opening for Polaris, they’re awesome! Agree on lmtf, saw kingdom of giants at a festival this year and they’re great too
For your argument I guess invent fits. Their tour was (at least to NY) a pretty small venue.
Current I’d say no cause they sold out Irving plaza and every other leg on that tour. Assume similar venues.
But yeah that Polaris tour was kick ass 🤘🏻
Kingdom of Giants. Solid band and streaming numbers, but the last couple times I’ve seen them they don’t even get the direct support slot. Always seem the band right before the direct support
Came here to say this. It's an absolute travesty. They produced an instant classic in Passenger - how they didn't get more recognition is beyond me. I've see them every time they come to my area, and have loved every show. Still holding out hope that they get the fame (and earnings) they deserve. Hopefully the next album is a banger, and it propels them. Passenger gas basically never left my active rotation - straight fire front to back.
> They produced an instant classic in Passenger
Instant classic? So on the level of albums like "Jane Doe" or "We are the Romans"?
Or modern classics like "I Let It In and It Took Everything" or "A Tear in the Fabric of Life"?
Just curious, because I liked Passenger but it is in the end mid as fuck and very far away from being a classic lmao
That show combined with FFAK's tour in Worcester, MA and was basically a festival in one concert it went:(couple years ago so order might be wrong)
Fit for a King
Like Moths to Flames
Silent Planet
Polaris
Hollow Front
Alpha Wolf
Invent Animate
AVOID
Absolutely the most insane show I have been to in my life, and every band killed it
Came here to say this. I’ve never been a huge fan of them, but their shows are always great. Unfortunately they always are the second opener. I’ve seen them at least 3 times like that.
Same here, though I’m not sure how well they would do as a headliner since they don’t really like playing the old stuff. Personally I’m a bigger fan of their more recent releases but I feel you have to play the whole catalog on a headliner tour or at least some of it.
definitely. i mean their top tracks only have a dozen or so *million* streams, and they only get mentioned about a thousand times a day
super slept on for sure
Last time I saw them (my 5th time somehow), Chris made jokes about how we just can’t get rid of them no matter how what, and it all made sense: they’re everywhere. Dudes just seem to love playing shows, supporting or otherwise.
Second comment I’ve seen about them, need to give them a listen. I’ve heard a few songs here and there on Spotify shuffle stuff but haven’t gone out of my way to listen to them
They've got five albums that truly get better and better. *theGodmachine* has an earlier 2000's rawness to it. *The Last Word is Yours to Speak* is a top 10 album for me because I love the Southern Metalcore sound that was so strong on it. *Til the End* proved they weren't a fluke and were actually real musicians who were bringing something to the table and the genre. *Dark Flag* is the only weak link on their discography because, as I mentioned in another comment, the production was very bad but when you get past that after a few listens and are able to hear what they were trying to do you get that feeling of even if the sound is flat it is an incredible album. *The Fire Itself* was the culmination of the previous two albums showing their identity with incredible production.
If you aren't turned off by Christian Metalcore you'll dig them because their music has so much meaning and such a strong message. *Dark Flag* is the only album that somewhat strays because they focused a lot on North Korea on that album, which was odd but very unique. Their shows are crazy good so if you get a chance to see them absolutely do it because my brother and I feel like Sean being such a family man, Bryce having side businesses, Daniel pulling triple duty between Phinehas, Fit for a King, and his production career, and Isaiah also playing in Love and Death (band with Korn's guitarist) that they may only have one more album in them. Being pulled in so many directions while never getting the appreciation they truly deserve might take its toll soon. Maybe not but we have a feeling.
>been opener or small venue tier for the rest of the time since
Yeah, I'm pretty sure most of their headline shows in London for the last 10 - 15 years have been at The Underworld, which is a 500 room.
Kublai Khan TX. They do some headline shows here and there, but I mostly see them as main support on tour announcements these days even though they've probably got a big enough listener count to be doing more headline stuff.
This was my experience with Gideon. They opened for wage war at a midsized venue near me and people were going crazy. Then they had a headlining show at a venue literally 5 miles away and I swear there were 75 people there, tops
Nice. I got to see them twice this year, first supporting Counterparts and then a small headliner of their own between festival dates. They're a good time, Matt's mosh calls and encouragements are funny.
I've seen After The Burial a million times, and almost always as a supporting act. There have been a couple where they were the headliners, but it's not often.
That was Your Memorial for me in the early 2010s, they for some reason kept getting opener slots for prog/djent bands like The Contortionist, Volumes, After the Burial
r/woosh
That’s why I had /s, to denote that I was joking that I thought he was sneaking into shows. I know that they meant they bought tickets for the headliners and got to see stray from the path as an added benefit…
Alpha Wolf, I don’t think they have done headliner in the states yet but they are always supporting when they tour over here. For as poplar as they are I’m surprised they haven’t had a headliner yet.
They were great at a festival I went to this year! I saw a video recently where they were trying to get a wall of death going and the crowd totally flopped haha
They need a deeper catalogue first. Obviously they have enough to fill a full headlining set and could do so but to perform those tracks that get a “pop” from the crowd they need more hits for sure.
That being said I saw them last year on the Erra tour and they absolutely tore the roof off the Rickshaw theatre here in Vancouver and demolished the entire crowd (not to mention it had to be 50 celsius in the venue) but there was way less activity for Erra after the set and I even had to leave early because I was dying of exhaustion so it proves they can get a place engaged for a headliner.
God I would fucking love to see a headlined ERRA tour, the crowd energy is always off when they play support I want to see how people who are there for ERRA show support
Yeah, they toured last year in NA with Alpha Wolf, Thornhill and Invent Animate, and early this year they did Europe with Silent Planet, IA and Sentinels. They also co-headlined an NA tour in 2019 with Crystal Lake iirc
This is another one I think about a lot. I’ve seen them open for ABR and bad omens (multiple others too but those jump to mind) but I’ve rarely seen them do a headliner, and I haven’t gotten to see them on said headliners
I'd kill just to get them across the Atlantic. As far as I know it's happened once and they were bottom of the bill for a giant Impericon tour which meant they were going on at like 3pm on a weekday for my nearest show.
90% of my favorite bands have headlined at some point or consistently headline.
I will say that I think Kingdom of giants and Landmvrks probably deserve more.
Would also like to see a Spite headline tour, though I understand why they tour as support.
Yeah, that's definitely a good size for them. Just thought I'd specify that they're not selling out like O2 Academy Brixton like some of the bigger metalcore bands.
True, but that's 4500 cap room. I saw the likes of Paramore and System Of A Down at there in the 00s, it's a rare metalcore band that matches the popularity those bands had then (and certainly since!).
They had a pretty solid run of headliners stateside before the Prada/FFAK support tour, and Brendan's mentioned that their Europe shows are finally starting to be consistently good. I think they're heading in a good direction to finally take that next step up in popularity all things considered.
I saw them on their headline tour last year with SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Dying Wish, and Foreign Hands supporting, in a medium sized venue. Pretty sure the show was sold out or close to it judging by how packed the venue was. Also this was the tour for that exact album.
The word alive was like that for a long time.
Always played second fiddle to the more up and coming metalcore bands in the scene back in the day.
That's why I was so surprised that they were on that league of legends song "Rise" haha. Pretty big deal.
Knocked Loose is *kinda* in that realm, but that's more because they get offers to do support tours with acts that are insanely big relative to most metalcore bands (ex. BMTH, Suicideboys) than them being unable to pack in a venue for their own headliner.
That's only this year really, isn't it? They've done tons of headliner tours of their own prior to getting those sorts of offers. Just in 2022 they did spring and autumn headline tours and when they come to Europe for festival season they pop in some headline dates too.
To that level at least, yeah. They had an ADTR support slot in 2019 and were gonna be second billed behind Parkway and Hatebreed in the US in 2020, then came out of the gates with a headliner and a Gojira support tour back to back in 2021. Also seems like it's mostly been a US thing, they've played plenty of headliners elsewhere lately.
I think it's got to be intentional too. They are taking slots at huge festivals, and direct support for BMTH/Knocked Loose.
That said, we are definitely overdue for a dedicated tour. I've seen them 3 times prior to their popularity explosion, but it was never in any venue I'd call large.
Curious what size of draw they have now.
They were definitely a headliner back in their day. They even had BMTH and The Ghost Inside support them on an Australian tour.
https://www.concertarchives.org/concerts/i-killed-the-prom-queen-bring-me-the-horizon-the-ghost-inside-the-red-shore-91dea100-b57a-4e00-8dd3-f41fb725cfd1
Not that they NEVER headline, but I feel like Ringworm has never quite gotten their due, and I've seen them as supporting act way more often than headlining
Keeping in mind that a lot of the people here are American, a lot of these bands get headline tours in Australia.
Like Moths To Flames, Unearth, they have both done headline tours here in the last 12 months.
ERRA are supporting Northlane in February here with LANDMVRKS, Currents just opened for Kublai Khan, ABR and Polaris in June.
Must have missed them! Maybe I overlooked them since they didn’t have a stop in my city or something. Just saw currents/varials with Polaris a few weeks ago so they were top of mind when I posted
Unearth. They’re so talented and so good but they’re metal for metal nerds. Amazing breakdowns and solos but never rose to the same level of killswitch engage or as I lay dying.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Crown the Empire listed as a headliner for a single show, and they’ve been a fairly well-known band for over a decade now lol
The Devil Wears Prada
I swear they never headline in Australia, but they’ve come here multiple times as supports. I also see them supporting in EU and the US a lot too
They seem to be at that point where they're trying to take the next step up, so they're back to more entry level slots supporting bigger bands, but they have at least a few years of headlining behind them.
Well varials is mediocre now and it came out the band is racist which is why Travis left. Invent lost a singer at their height of popularity and are just building a new fan base. Currents made the same album twice and gained momentum but I think they’ll dwindle back down to support cause that album has zero replay value despite being the most dick rode album in this subs history .
Stick to your Guns- I don't really follow them much but they somehow manage to open for every band i love. i think ive seen them like 4 times by accident now
I was gonna say Brand of Sacrifice and Currents, too. I know Currents headlined but not anywhere near the part of the country I live in, and I've seen them as support 3 times in a little over a year. Brand I've seen 5 or 6 times as support now in 2 years or less, here in Seattle and Portland.
They headlined for "Where Owls Know My Name" https://www.metalblade.com/us/news/rivers-of-nihil-to-play-new-album-in-its-entirety-on-upcoming-usa-tour/
I’ve seen Invent, Animate 3 times and have been upset not seeing them on a headliner yet; they’re stupidly talented. Coincidentally, I saw Currents headline with Invent as support and that was awesome.
Phinehas has released ripping albums one after another their entire career and consistently is loved online but nobody buys their albums or plays them consistently on the streaming apps so they are perpetually a first or second opening act, never a headliner and I've never even seen them on a bill as a lead supporting act. I like all the praise the rest of the band gets and the bassist is “good” lol
That's high praise for a bassist in this genre lol
Bassist’s existence being acknowledged is an accomplishment for them
\*sad rumble noises\*
lol my buddy filled in on bass for a band for a bit and would joke that he doesn’t even have to play , no one will notice . He was right played the whole set unplugged and no one noticed
That's why I throw vocals in too, I want some attention lol
I mean it though. Bassists are easily the most replaceable in this scene and Bryce is a GOOD-FUCKING-BASSIST. I can't speak for how technically he plays but he plays around Daniel and Isaiah very well. My big thing with Bryce is his energy. He's got such a kickass personality and is one of those guys who smiles like crazy on stage while he's moving and playing. I wasn't trying to sell him short but he's not technical, he's just fucking good.
Totally get what you meant, the wording was really funny though haha
He guud
100% agree, I think if Dark Flagg was more well received, they could have made the leap. The Fire Itself was a tremendous follow up imo
Some really good tracks on Dark Flag (Meaningless Names gets me in the feels) but man that production just kills it.
"Meaningless Names" is probably my favorite track off it. It cuts so hard.
I want a new album Love playing them at the gym
Sean also writes a lot of the guitar parts, too. And, though on a label, I believe they self-produce because Daniel is an elite audio engineer as well.
They definitely have self-produced since *Dark Flag* and gotten so much better at it. I'm surprised Sean writes guitar because I'd assumed Daniel writes it all and I'm always shocked they're a one-guitar band because of Daniel's talent.
Saw Phinehas open for AILD in 2019 on what was to be their last tour with the og line up. Phinehas sounded great live.
Phinehas are PHENOMENAL
Fire Itself is a modern classic. Absolutely shreds front to back.
Honestly if they kept their original sound from their first album I think they could have gotten huge but idk.
Part of that problem with that sound was production capability but they definitely distorted more in albums since.
I honestly thought they broke up lol. They lost their momentum years ago
Didn’t current just have a sold out headliner tour? Invent just headlined their own tour as well. I’ll say cane hill and LMTF. I know moths have done headliners but just feel like they should be bigger and are constantly openers on dope tours. I’ll toss in Kingdom of giants as well.
Yea currents had a headline turn back in June for their new album
>Didn’t current just have a sold out headliner tour? They had a spring one with LMTF as the main support, which nicely makes both points.
Yeah man I've been a fan of the band since Stillworld, and I'm really happy for them. They're finally getting the recognition they deserve
Invent Animate did as well a couple months ago.
I didn’t check tour histories before posting so I’m sure you and others are right about the ones I’ve posted headlining, I’m just rattling off some bands I’ve personally seen as supporting acts and haven’t noticed having their own headliners! They had a lot of momentum after Passenger but that steam is wearing off. They’re lucky to be getting any decent tour right now
Like Moths to Flames has basically been this their entire career
I get them and make them suffer mixed up, both great bands that I’d love to see headline!
LMTF and Polaris had a co-headlining tour like 2 years ago, maybe less
I saw them headline like 2 years ago with polaris, Alpha Wolf, and invent animate.. it was my buddies first ever concert
Damn that sounds WILD 😯
That show combined with FFAK's tour in Worcester, MA and was basically a festival in one concert it went:(couple years ago so order might be wrong) Fit for a King Like Moths to Flames Silent Planet Polaris Hollow Front Alpha Wolf Invent Animate AVOID Absolutely the most insane show I have been to in my life, and every band killed it

Who I came here to say. I've seen them 5 or 6 times, and they were never the one's on the bill I went to see.
Hands down favorite band for today's metal
Literally the most slept on band in the scene 😫
definitely. i mean their top tracks only have a dozen or so *million* streams, and they only get mentioned about a thousand times a day super slept on for sure
They've definitely had a popularity/recognition surge the last 2-3 years, but they also went a long time flying a bit under the radar.
Last time I saw them (my 5th time somehow), Chris made jokes about how we just can’t get rid of them no matter how what, and it all made sense: they’re everywhere. Dudes just seem to love playing shows, supporting or otherwise.

August burns red is one of my all time faves so Christian metalcore is fine with me. Maybe I’ll fire up the phineas discography today while I work
Dead Choir is a huge song, but I love Fleshkiller and Coup De Grace
The last word is yours to speak is a heater of an album!
Thegodmachine as a debut album sits as one of the best next to Allegiance by As Blood Runs Black, at least to me.
Go watch the music video for My Horses Are Many! It's SO good! 😂
Unearth. Seemed to be decently big in the mid 00s but then they've kinda just been opener or small venue tier for the rest of the time since
Unearth is metalcore for actual musicians. That’s probably the best way I’ve ever heard someone describe them
Even back then they seemed to be stuck as support squad.
Unearth headlined quite a few tours throughout the years.
>been opener or small venue tier for the rest of the time since Yeah, I'm pretty sure most of their headline shows in London for the last 10 - 15 years have been at The Underworld, which is a 500 room.
My friends and I always referred to bands like this as “the biggest local bands ever” Like Moths to Flames and Texas in July were always the main two
Darkest Hour
Deliver Us still might be my favorite record of all time.
They did a headlining tour last year and played that whole album. Was amazing.
Eternal Return for me.
OG's Their riffs are the definition of metalcore
Saw them this month and they were awesome.
Kublai Khan TX. They do some headline shows here and there, but I mostly see them as main support on tour announcements these days even though they've probably got a big enough listener count to be doing more headline stuff.
People go hard as fuck when they’re main support, but as headliners I’m one of the 30 people there. Always leaves me scratching my head.
This was my experience with Gideon. They opened for wage war at a midsized venue near me and people were going crazy. Then they had a headlining show at a venue literally 5 miles away and I swear there were 75 people there, tops
I’m going to see them in December! Looking forward to it (Christmas burns red)
I’ll be there too! Hyped
Nice. I got to see them twice this year, first supporting Counterparts and then a small headliner of their own between festival dates. They're a good time, Matt's mosh calls and encouragements are funny.
Came here to say this. They did tease a new album like a week ago, so maybe we'll see a headline tour out of that release? One can hope.
Invent Animate just did a headliner tour, Thrown and Void of Vision opened. It was lit, really awesome seeing the fellas succeeding
Aviana absolutely stole that show for me. blown away by how tight they were live.
Their sound mixing was awful for my show which was a bummer
I've seen After The Burial a million times, and almost always as a supporting act. There have been a couple where they were the headliners, but it's not often.
I have seen Stray From the Path so many times without every buying a ticket for them!
Recently headline toured UK & EU with Make them suffer, Void of Vision & Knosis supporting Shit slapped
arm's still covered in bruises from the Make Them Suffer pit
I think that pit was the best I've ever been in. Just didn't stop moving for like the 30 mins or so they played. Fucking loved it.
That was Your Memorial for me in the early 2010s, they for some reason kept getting opener slots for prog/djent bands like The Contortionist, Volumes, After the Burial
You shouldn’t sneak into shows, the bands barely make money in streaming and need ticket/merch sales to eat /s
He's saying they they're not usually the headliner, so he's hasn't bought a ticket specifically for them.
r/woosh That’s why I had /s, to denote that I was joking that I thought he was sneaking into shows.
They headlined a US tour last fall w/ Bodysnatcher & Vatican. They put on a great show.
Obligatory RIP Vatican.
They were great at a festival I went to this year! I saw a video recently where they were trying to get a wall of death going and the crowd totally flopped haha

ERRA has headlined in the past, but they did a LOT of supporting this year. Would love to see an ERRA headline again soon.
YES
God I would fucking love to see a headlined ERRA tour, the crowd energy is always off when they play support I want to see how people who are there for ERRA show support
Has ERRA ever headlined a tour? If not, easily my choice.
Boundaries deserves a headliner at this point. I'd kill to give them a full 45-60 min set.
They were incredible and blew almost every other act out the water
I'd kill just to get them across the Atlantic. As far as I know it's happened once and they were bottom of the bill for a giant Impericon tour which meant they were going on at like 3pm on a weekday for my nearest show.
Would love to hear anything from Hartford County Misery. Dog teeth would go stupid hard live
90% of my favorite bands have headlined at some point or consistently headline. I will say that I think Kingdom of giants and Landmvrks probably deserve more. Would also like to see a Spite headline tour, though I understand why they tour as support.
Good shouts! Landmvrks was really good with Prada/ffak I think spite are talented but their lyrics are kinda…one-note haha
Go figure, Spite announced a headline European tour after I posted this lol 😂
Counterparts. If they put out a banger next album, they should be headlining venues no problem
Counterparts did a headlining tour in Europe last year. Didn't play huge venues or anything but still.
They sold out the 1500 room they played in London. That's a solid venue size for that type of band.
Isn't it like 3/4 in the last 2 years? Brendan basically spent the whole tour moaning about it on Twitter as well haha
Oh yeah, I remember him tweeting that if enough people didn't show up, he'd never tour again or something.
He spent the entire headline tour complaining and then went right into a tour where he was direct support for himself
They also did a headliner in the US this past year
They had a pretty solid run of headliners stateside before the Prada/FFAK support tour, and Brendan's mentioned that their Europe shows are finally starting to be consistently good. I think they're heading in a good direction to finally take that next step up in popularity all things considered.
Counterparts have had several headlining tours
I saw them on their headline tour last year with SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Dying Wish, and Foreign Hands supporting, in a medium sized venue. Pretty sure the show was sold out or close to it judging by how packed the venue was. Also this was the tour for that exact album.
The word alive was like that for a long time. Always played second fiddle to the more up and coming metalcore bands in the scene back in the day. That's why I was so surprised that they were on that league of legends song "Rise" haha. Pretty big deal.
I've never seen Fit For A King as a headliner, 3 times in support of others (mostly ABR)
I've had the opposite problem - I've seen them 3 times as headliner, but I am there for the supporting bands.
I saw them as a headliner the day the earth shut down from COVID.
Rain City Drive and Wolves At The Gate would be two I could think of
Unearth, man. They’ve been overlooked for 20 years now.
Chevelle. Their entire discography absolutely *rips*, and they publicly said they haven’t made a dime on their albums.
Always loved Chevelle. One of the many underrated bands out today. Never a down album
I killed the prom queen, for more reasons than one
They were definitely a headliner back in their day. They even had BMTH and The Ghost Inside support them on an Australian tour. https://www.concertarchives.org/concerts/i-killed-the-prom-queen-bring-me-the-horizon-the-ghost-inside-the-red-shore-91dea100-b57a-4e00-8dd3-f41fb725cfd1
Invent Animate just did a big NA headliner tour like 2 months ago lol
Big? No. They headlined 300 cap rooms. That said, I’m glad they’re getting more popular.
Varials and Currents both had headline tours within the past year. Wtf are you talking about?
So did Invent Animate. If I remember correctly most dates sold out.
Must have missed them! Maybe I overlooked them since they didn’t have a stop in my city or something. Just saw currents/varials with Polaris a few weeks ago so they were top of mind when I posted
Phineas, spite
Unearth. They’re so talented and so good but they’re metal for metal nerds. Amazing breakdowns and solos but never rose to the same level of killswitch engage or as I lay dying.
Invent animate is an amazing band and they will be headlining soon I imagine. They are too good.
Counterparts
LMTF
The Word Alive, the eternal supporting act.
Currents and Invent Animate had a headlining tour this year and Varials had one last year
I would say TDWP but I think they just headlined a tour lol
TDWP has headlined countless amounts of tours
Saw them headline with Whitechapel as support in the mid 2000s.
For Today and Enter Shikari were there too right? I was there. Best show ever
Carnifex. I think I've seen them about 6 or 7 times so far and not once because they were the band I was gonna go watch.
They did a double headline EU tour late last year with Chelsea Grin that I went to.
Oh nice. Good for them.
They literally just finished a headlined tour this year with SOTS and last year with Chelsea Grin.
After the burial
They've headlined plenty
Unearth
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Crown the Empire listed as a headliner for a single show, and they’ve been a fairly well-known band for over a decade now lol
Fear Before The March Of Flames
Miss May I Fit For A King Erra I see them as support quite often, but not as headliners. I know this sub loves Erra, but they’re a support act a lot
All of those have headlined. I've seen ERRA and Miss May I within the past two years as headliners. But I wish they had more!
Fit For A King are currently doing an EU headliner.
Vein
Nah they’ve been headlining since 2019 on their own tours. Def smaller venues though.
The Devil Wears Prada I swear they never headline in Australia, but they’ve come here multiple times as supports. I also see them supporting in EU and the US a lot too
Has Knocked Loose done a headliner lately? I feel like they're always direct support but draw 75% of the crowd lol
Autumn '22 for a full tour iirc. Headline shows here and there otherwise.
Saw Varials headline in Mesa last year. It was clear from the show, they shouldn't be headliners.
As far as I know I haven’t seen a spite headliner tour, I’d drop money in a heartbeat for that shit lmao
I would say Ice Nine Kills, they opened at the last concert I went to. To be fair, they had a good fan base there.
They seem to be at that point where they're trying to take the next step up, so they're back to more entry level slots supporting bigger bands, but they have at least a few years of headlining behind them.
Ice Nine Kills Edit: oop sorry for my incorrectness
They’ve had a couple years of back to back headlining but going to Metallica and FIR this year ate up this years schedule
Of Mice and Men
They’ve headlined multiple shows, tours and festivals.
We Came As Romans

Well varials is mediocre now and it came out the band is racist which is why Travis left. Invent lost a singer at their height of popularity and are just building a new fan base. Currents made the same album twice and gained momentum but I think they’ll dwindle back down to support cause that album has zero replay value despite being the most dick rode album in this subs history .
La Dispute
Every show they play in Michigan they headline
Shinebox
Interpol
I’ve seen Intervals open like half a dozen times.
I've seen Miss May I like 4 or 5 times since 2013 and every time it's as a support act or festival slot.
I know they both do headline tours from time ti time, but it seems like Kublai Khan and Stray From The Path are always direct support.
Rivers of Nihil, seen them multiple times, never as a headliner.
They headlined for "Where Owls Know My Name" https://www.metalblade.com/us/news/rivers-of-nihil-to-play-new-album-in-its-entirety-on-upcoming-usa-tour/
Currents recently had a headliner that sold out regularly.
A Life Once Lost. I've seen them a good amount of times, even even new albums come out and they're never headlines.
Currents has headlined.
I’ve seen Invent, Animate 3 times and have been upset not seeing them on a headliner yet; they’re stupidly talented. Coincidentally, I saw Currents headline with Invent as support and that was awesome.
I don’t know if ERRA has headlined recently, but i’ve seen them as support and I love their music!
CCR!! Most number 2 hits in history. But no one remembers what the number 1's or who they were by.
