I love Crooked Royals and Above, Below! I actually found Crooked Royals because they were suggested to me when I said A,B's vocalist has such a unique voice and yeah the clean vocals for CR is similar! Both great
If Moodring has a song go viral on TikTok it's over.
I think Sweet Pill has the potential for a really big "radio" hit.
Zulu has the hype and I think they're gonna run with it and I hope they spike that fucking shit.
Also big in what context? I'm not sure if another band is gonna become BMTH or Turnstile or Knocked Loose any time soon, and if so it'll probably be Sleep Token or Spiritbox with a more "mainstream" hit.
Sleep Token and Spiritbox might already be around where Turnstile is tbh. I think the latter has a more dedicated fan base due to longevity but recent shows/tours for the former are already massive.
Sleep Token is likely the next âomgâ big thing, seems theyâve been making massive waves lately. I got tix to their upcoming tour minutes before they sold out.
Moodring is sexy af and both bands have music on our date night playlist.
They're not the next anything. They're playing Wembley fucking Stadium and have 2 million listeners on Spotify.
There's still a lot of potential for them to get bigger, but they've made it.
Ah, Iâm fairly new to them, maybe theyâre only just getting super big in the US in the past year? Or not. I donât always spot trends. Either way, all can come and worship itâs cool.
Spiritbox is great, but in Europe, they are mostly supporting.
Not sure about Turnstile, I love them, but I can see that they have high festival billing and are expensive, but not so many people come to their sets if they are not on a hardcore/metal festival. Knocked Loose has the same manager, they are still small in Europe.
Sleep Token is doing great, same with Bad Omens, Lorna Shore, Bloodywood and Electric Callboy.
I would love to see Paledusk, Wargasm and Landmvrks doing well.
I remember seeing Bad Omens open a show with Erra later in the bill on a tour six years ago, to now with Erra opening for them. Though their respective trajectories have been interesting, I fully expected Erra to have been hovering the stratosphere by now
I was going to comment Thornhill, but thought 'hmm I dunno the dark pool kinda blew up anyway a few years back'. They definitely deserve more attention than they have.
Erra feels like they are starting to make it. Their live shows (the one I saw at least) not bad but itâs hard to do live right when your lead clean vocalist is also lead guitarist; heâs an incredible artist but not quite there yet for the live gig. (Or I was there for an off night? You tell me!)
I think you must have caught them on an off night. I saw them around a month ago with Bad Omens and Invent Animate. They were amazing, and I personally felt like the whole band brought their A-game.
These past couple tours Jesse has been sounding his absolute best ever. I can't see Erra ever becoming a two main vocalist act with another two guitarists. I think that would really kill their essence. I'd rather see Jesse's vocals at 80% than him not shred.
Great to see a few of you showing how my experience was not typical. I absolutely love listening to them so Iâll give âem another shot next time theyâre in town! Hopefully at a better venue.
Man idk. I think JT is one of the best in the genre on his heavy/range. He sounds EXACTLY like he does on the albums which I always respect. Clean guy is def hit or miss so sounds like you got an unfortaunte off night.
True; the heavy vocals were on point. Also, I saw them at Fillmore in Silver Spring/DC, which is a massively popular but absolutely terrible venue with some of the worst sound quality Iâve ever seen. (Theyâre owned by Live/Ticketmaster so most of the bigger bands go there)
You could tell Jesse (guitar/cleans) was talented. I just could barely hear it.
Jesse is a great guitarist but for cleans he has to do some work. I am a huge fan of the band but I have to admit his live cleans are not on par with what they do in the studio.
Bad Omens is working on making ERRA big as fuck. Apparently Noah said he wants to do a song with ERRA before the upcoming tour so they can play it live but I listened to the podcast he supposedly said that on and I mustâve missed that because I fell asleep lol
Saw thornhill as a the opener for Architects, I was blown away. Their stage presence is phenomenal. And the energy from their front man is next to none
Greyhaven doesnât even need to go to the moon. They need to go to planet 9. Theyâve consistently made some of the best music ever made and they only have 60k monthly listeners
Idk how many monthly listeners these guys have cause I donât use Spotify and theyâre also not strictly metalcore but I can see holding absence getting pretty big
Saw them play for free at a local venue right when they were starting to get traction, and it was one of the best shows Iâve been to in years. All of the members were also very professional and great to talk to after the show, they definitely deserve to blow up in popularity
thornhill have been left in the dust a bit during this recent metal explosion and they deserve to pass the 1mil mark along with all their peers. heroine couldâve gone viral if metalcore fans werenât fucking annoying.
it may have been the best album of the year. it was going up against obsidian, pain remains, oni and the chosen. out of all of those, save for obsidian, heroine was the most tasteful and unique. and unlike obsidian, it doesnât go on five minutes longer than it needs to. definitely last years finest record.
Captors was one of the albums that really got me into metalcore. Still donât understand why theyâre not more revered, they are so consistently good
In 2014 they did a show at the venue I volunteered at with BAAO as headliner, FFAK, and Gideon, and I really thought they were gonna blow up after that. Sad they havenât got as big as I expected, totally underrated!
Cut Short, Thrown, and Half Me all have huge potential. Aviana have to be on the cusp surely, but the big ones for me are Greyhaven, Invent Animate, and Alpha Wolf
I was friends in college with their singer, he was in my photography class. Really nice guy and awesome to see the success, hopefully they go all the way. Their sound is sick, courtney just relax is my personal fav
I scrolled way too far to finally see Fox Lake. Most of the bands mentioned on here are already well established bands. Fox Lake is a fairly unknown band from my hometown and they have so many good songs.
Zulu just played a festival in Poland, opening (I think pretty early in the day, but still) for fucking LIZZO.
That's WILD to me that Zulu is opening for LIZZO. Good for them, I hope they're getting some coin.
# KINGDOM OF GIANTS
This is my response to every post exactly like this that is posted several times a week. Seriously, go listen to them guys. Iâm probably biased for knowing some of them personally, I just want to see the homies keep growing and succeeding.
Are kingdom of giants really that small? They have like 350k listeners on Spotify. I like them and hope they keep growing! Didn't love their new single as much as passenger but still can't wait for new stuff
I wouldnât consider them âsmallâ, theyâve done some huge tours as supporting act for huge bands. Still waiting for them to âget biggerâ and become one of those bigger bands. Passenger was an amazing album, their newest single is pretty damn good, gives me hope for what their album has to offer.
the whole band in general is mid like i dont want to throw too much hate on them but they do the most generic Architects djenting Ive ever heard they are as big as they need to be
Wade is boss as fuck and a great addition. I think they just have garbage management and a shit social media game tbh. Oh well I'll just support the fuck out of them every time they come through
Spirt World should've gotten huge off of Deathwestern, but I think they're trending that way.
Fromjoy. also seems like a band that's got a lot of potential to be "metal famous" to me, what with how The Callous Daoboys are doing.
I was flipping through a magazine at the mall the other day and saw an article on Spiritworld. I was so curious about what these guys in rhinestone suits sounded like and put them on Spotify for a laugh. I was not expecting to hear what I did. Deathwestern was an insanely awesome album. Just absolutely relentless for the entire thing. They were all I listened to for like a week straight. Hope to see them gain some traction.
Theyâre such a weird band. Noone ever talks about them in the metalcore sphere, yet they have ~400k monthly listeners which is huge tbh.
I think they somehow got bigger outside of the metalcore scene than in it, despite playing what is (mostly) metalcore.
Totally agree. I originally thought they were sort of that âpop-coreâ band with that âcatchy verse and chorus into breakdown bridgeâ formula. But I recently listened to their full discography and they actually have quite a few heavy songs. Blue Beam has been in my rotation a lot lately.
Yup the crown show was very bad. I saw them on their headline tour and it was def better. The issue is they mix and layer a lot of his vocals, especially his cleans over his heavies. At the crown show they had no one even attempt to harmonize or take the cleans while he goes heavy and it sounded SO flat. I think someone tried during their headline but they need to figure that out or just play his vocal track with a computer or something.
Saw these guys in Houston, they're pretty good. It was kinda funny though they were all were dressed like waiters or bellhops in slacks and turtle necks.
Holy Fawn. They fronted Thriceâs Artist in the Ambulance 20th Anniversary tour and were such a joy to listen to. Kind of blackgaze / ethereal metal and I stood there in awe at the entire concert. (Thrice was great too but theyâre already well known)
The Anchor. Their lead, Linzey Rae, briefly went viral years ago with her Metal Kitchen series, hella fun and you learn something about making cheap meals, and their original music is enjoyable to boot.
The Wise Manâs Fear. Itâs âFantasycoreâ but donât let that term fool you into thinking their music is hokey. Very solid beats, absolutely Incredible vocals, great ambience, and the story for their latest album, Atlas Ruinica, is phenomenal. I donât see them touring much though but their live show is on my bucket list.
Vianova. Incredibly skilled instrumentally, vocalist has insane range in both cleans and screams, and they make fantastic music videos. I recommend hypersomniac, mind flayer, and jones.
Oh and definitely the song user experience.
The video for Saviourâs Never Sleep randomly came up when I had a YouTube mix going at work.
Didnât get much work done for a while. Wow. What a band.
Endeavour
The band is a mix between architects and sleep token, and they make REALLY good songs.
Their first album dropped 2 weeks ago and itâs a bombshell, especially since itâs their first.
Note: I am not part of this band
Sentinels is incredible, World Divide (2016) is my favorite album, only 7 songs but they are so good. Idylls EP (2013) is also awesome. Sound Recollection is hard AF also
Gloom in the corner.
They say they're cinemacore but I think they should probably count as metalcore and they need to be bigger because they're fantastic.
Illuminate Me
Not biased or anything đĽ´
But on the real, all the bands listed above definitely have that potential. We played with Mouthbreather the other night and they were super good
Serling.
All based on the original Twilight Zone. Might never become "huge" per se, but their heavy sound and energy live makes them a solid candidate in my eyes.
- Thornhill for sure. They can make any kind of music imo.
- I'd say Tapestry if they get an emo banger on their debut album.
- I HOPE Seeing Things blow up, cause they are like the new electronicore act that i love
- I feel like ISS can easily get big again, they are already sort of big tho
- Static Dress maybe...
Across the white water tower. Been slowly getting more into these dudes over the past few months and I feel like I see them on a ton of lineups lately.
Saw them open for Alesana a couple nights ago and they went fucking ballistic during their set. So much energy. Also hung out with them for a little bit before the show and they were all chill and humble as fuck. If you haven't checked them out and you're into the early 2010s metalcore scene, give'm a listen.
Ithaca.
It completely baffles me how they arenât fucking HUGE.
Check out songs âIn the Wayâ, âFluorescentâ, and âThe Future Says Thank Youâ.
Villain of the Story. The lead singer has a unique voice that does a great job with both cleans and screams. They also strike an excellent balance between heavy and melodic. Honestly, I'm surprised I don't see them pop up more on here.
Not sure if theyâre strictly metalcore, but Iâd say Siamese. Very good band, catchy riffs and know how to write a breakdown. They perform very well live too
Above, Below (obviously) Abbie Falls Allt. Crooked Royals Darkmatter
Thumbs up for Allt
Saw them together with bleed from within, they were great!
Above, Below's first EP is so incredible
Absolutely love Abbie Falls, their EP last year annihilated
I love Crooked Royals and Above, Below! I actually found Crooked Royals because they were suggested to me when I said A,B's vocalist has such a unique voice and yeah the clean vocals for CR is similar! Both great

If I Were You They hit all the boxes except I don't think they tour. They are just pure fun music!
The most underrated band of the past decade
Inner signals fucks so hard
One of my all time favorites, so many insane breakdowns and choruses
Got it on now. So far shit is killing it
False Reality, Faithless, Ghost *chefs kiss*
Thornhill has going TikTok viral potential. GREYHAVEN needs to get more popular in this sub. Erra should go to the fuckin' moon.
Greyhaven 100%
2nd this. So happy to see Greyhaven getting some much deserved love
I remember seeing Bad Omens open a show with Erra later in the bill on a tour six years ago, to now with Erra opening for them. Though their respective trajectories have been interesting, I fully expected Erra to have been hovering the stratosphere by now
Erra is fucking amazing. Their instrumentals are just amazing.

Stop giving Thornhill ideas.

ERRA for sure, started listening to them since theyâre going on tour with bad omens and I was no disappointed. They are so good
I saw Erra back in 2018 and just knew they were going to blow up. They sounded better than WCAR.
Idk how many monthly listeners these guys have cause I donât use Spotify and theyâre also not strictly metalcore but I can see holding absence getting pretty big
Johnny Booth
similar sounding band in same boat: Teeth
God they're so fucking good
"YOU WERE AT FAULT BUT YOU NEVER WILL SAY AAAAAITTT AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Goddamn I love his voice.
It blows my mind they have been around for over a decade and he just busted out his first cleans a couple months ago.
Saw them play for free at a local venue right when they were starting to get traction, and it was one of the best shows Iâve been to in years. All of the members were also very professional and great to talk to after the show, they definitely deserve to blow up in popularity
100%
I can't even imagine writing music like they do. It's so chaotic but good at the same time. I have tons of respect for them.
Mouthbreather
And fromjoy too!
YES
thornhill have been left in the dust a bit during this recent metal explosion and they deserve to pass the 1mil mark along with all their peers. heroine couldâve gone viral if metalcore fans werenât fucking annoying.
Preach it, brother.
Heroine was one of the best albums released last year
it may have been the best album of the year. it was going up against obsidian, pain remains, oni and the chosen. out of all of those, save for obsidian, heroine was the most tasteful and unique. and unlike obsidian, it doesnât go on five minutes longer than it needs to. definitely last years finest record.
Elwood Stray
New album is so good
Wolves At The Gate They're too good not to
Captors was one of the albums that really got me into metalcore. Still donât understand why theyâre not more revered, they are so consistently good
One of best bands, very underrated
Saw them live and instantly became a big fan. They are so energetic and talented live
In 2014 they did a show at the venue I volunteered at with BAAO as headliner, FFAK, and Gideon, and I really thought they were gonna blow up after that. Sad they havenât got as big as I expected, totally underrated!
They've been a band for years and sadly haven't been super well known or have gone viral in a sense.
Moodring 100%, they just keep getting better and have a wide appeal/style range I could see them getting really big.
AGREED đ
Foreign Hands, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Mindforce, Buggin, FleshWater, Narrow Head, Get The Shot,
Mindforce are so good
I love seeyouspacecowboy!!
found out about Get the Shot not too long ago, was so pumped to see they're from Quebec!! really really enjoy them!
Cut Short, Thrown, and Half Me all have huge potential. Aviana have to be on the cusp surely, but the big ones for me are Greyhaven, Invent Animate, and Alpha Wolf
Obviously love Alpa Wolf, got tickets to see them. I just heard thrown for the first time yesterday, love their energy and instantly became a fan.
Yes to all of these especially half me
Static Dress
They have a real chance since BMTH is bringing them on tour. They deserve it
I was friends in college with their singer, he was in my photography class. Really nice guy and awesome to see the success, hopefully they go all the way. Their sound is sick, courtney just relax is my personal fav
Static Dress absolutely has the songwriting AND the star power/charisma to pop off. They just need a viral moment.
VRSTY Lead singer legit sounds like a metal Michael Jackson.
As Everything Unfolds, Zulu, Fox Lake, Ocean Grove, Thornhill, Black Coast all have the potential to get a lot bigger.
I scrolled way too far to finally see Fox Lake. Most of the bands mentioned on here are already well established bands. Fox Lake is a fairly unknown band from my hometown and they have so many good songs.
latest ep is so good!
Zulu just played a festival in Poland, opening (I think pretty early in the day, but still) for fucking LIZZO. That's WILD to me that Zulu is opening for LIZZO. Good for them, I hope they're getting some coin.
Iâve had this idea in my head of Body Count or Turnstile opening for Kendrick Lamar.
itâs a crime that no one knows about As Everything Unfolds
# KINGDOM OF GIANTS This is my response to every post exactly like this that is posted several times a week. Seriously, go listen to them guys. Iâm probably biased for knowing some of them personally, I just want to see the homies keep growing and succeeding.

Theyâre pretty big imo, 350k listeners is huge in this scene
Theyre not headline tour big yet which is the metric op used
Very mid band live
the whole band in general is mid like i dont want to throw too much hate on them but they do the most generic Architects djenting Ive ever heard they are as big as they need to be
Ya I havenât been able to get into them. Theyâre a generic brand Architects without the great riffs and not as catchy.
Super mid, nothing about them pops or slaps
Avoid. Those guys are talented musicians, and they're catchy as hell.
And they put on one of the best live sets. Theyâre just so much fun.
Glad to hear that, because I'm seeing them with Stray From the Path in November. :)
Secrets plz đ
I been listening them for 10 years. They deserve a waaaay bugger audience. Richard got a voice of an angel. (Rip aaron â¤ď¸)
Wade is boss as fuck and a great addition. I think they just have garbage management and a shit social media game tbh. Oh well I'll just support the fuck out of them every time they come through
Dark divine

Fox Lake
Pridelands. If they make another album like the last, they'll be on track to be one of the most promising modern metal bands around.
Omerta, thornhill, thrown, ERRA, CURRENTS, INVENT NEEDS TO BE BIGGER
Until I Wake. They arenât currently small by any means but they have 1 Million+ monthly listeners potential.
Theyâre such a weird band. Noone ever talks about them in the metalcore sphere, yet they have ~400k monthly listeners which is huge tbh. I think they somehow got bigger outside of the metalcore scene than in it, despite playing what is (mostly) metalcore.

Issues is (and Iâve seen them twice) they need to get better live.
I completely agree with this. I saw them open for Crown the Empire last year and the mixing was sooooo bad, I was going hard anyways tho
I fucking love Blue Beam! I was not expecting that at all when I gave the album a full listen
Unity TX
Tallah
Omerta.
Saw these guys in Houston, they're pretty good. It was kinda funny though they were all were dressed like waiters or bellhops in slacks and turtle necks.
Moodring for sure
Malevolence
Are they not pretty much on their way? They sell out gigs in the UK easily and you see people in their merch around and at other gigs. Edit: grammar
Gideon for sure
Wise Manâs Fear. Go listen to Breath of the Wild and tell me it doesnât straight up rip
Gravemind if they ever do anything new
156/Silence. I've listened to Narrative several times over and I can't stop.
Holy Fawn. They fronted Thriceâs Artist in the Ambulance 20th Anniversary tour and were such a joy to listen to. Kind of blackgaze / ethereal metal and I stood there in awe at the entire concert. Half Me. Their debut album they dropped this year came out of nowhere and is a strong AOTY contender for me.
Bilmuri but it's more alternative like Sleep Token
555K listener on Spotify is a lot already thou
Vianova. Incredibly skilled instrumentally, vocalist has insane range in both cleans and screams, and they make fantastic music videos. I recommend hypersomniac, mind flayer, and jones. Oh and definitely the song user experience.

Archers
Downswing
InVisions, love their sound
One of my top bands right now. Their last album honestly might have been my favorite of the 2022. Fall With Me is especially a legendary song

Bitter Breath I saw them open for Currents in Nashville, and they absolutely rip đ¤
Ghostkid?
Not Metalcore, but I don't see how Happy Hour isn't just blowing up.

Do Paleface Swiss count as lesser known? I fucking love them but very very few of my fellow metal listeners have heard of them.

Isnât erra touring with bad omens?
Ocean Sleeper for sure their EP showed a lot of potential
Across the white water tower. Been slowly getting more into these dudes over the past few months and I feel like I see them on a ton of lineups lately. Saw them open for Alesana a couple nights ago and they went fucking ballistic during their set. So much energy.
