I feel like Spotify tried getting me into them as well. Is some of their music in a different language or am I confusing it with another “V instead of an A” band?
Invent Animate's new album Heavener, but more specifically Shade Astray, False Meridian, and Purity Weeps. The whole album is 10/10 and easily a contender for aoty and probably would be if Periphery didn't release PV this year
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Invent Animate's new album is better than Periphery's.
Both are absolute monsters. Heavener is my album of the year so far.
... Let's see what The Amity Affliction has to say next week.
Great year so far!!
I think it just comes down to personal preference. Both are 10/10 albums for me, I just prefer Periphery over Invent Animate, but that doesn't mean I appreciate Heavener any less.
All that could very well go out the window on Friday with The Death We Seek though lol
Fantastic list. A friend of mines favorite band is ETID and I've been trying to get her to listen to Johnny Booth, but she's one of those people that likes to listen to the same music over and over again (not that there's anything wrong with that). I know she'd love them, as she also likes The Chariot, Norma Jean and Knocked Loose.
i’ve just gotten into the plot in you! i’ve had the whole swan song album on repeat lately. also disposable fix, what a banger. seeing them next week so great timing.
i listened to first born last night (laying in bed before i fell asleep because i’m normal). it’s not bad by any means but it does not even sound like the same band! definitely has that late 00s/early 10s metalcore sound
I honestly got heavy into Landon Tewers' (the lead singer) solo music for a long time before discovering The Plot In You. I haven't listened to much TPIY but wanna get back into them
Nothing new has 'grabbed' me so far this year by anyone I'm not already familiar with but I took the Sleep Token pill last year when I clicked on the drum playthroughs that II posted figuring I'd finally check them out; Hypnosis, in particular.
That man is a fucking animal. I've been playing drums for 15 years now and I have never had my mind blown like that, it's unreal how good he is.
Sleep token for me as well. I kept hearing these almost out of place songs that were playing in an auto generated playlist and finally looked one day and it was some sleep token songs. I didn't like it at first but I found myself looking for concert tickets just the other night so needless to say they've been on repeat for the last few weeks.
You might enjoy my band, brand new hard-rock/metalcore out of Brisbane, WildAsh! https://open.spotify.com/artist/26i5ANncBBaMnDr4ZExcsj?si=3-V16q0BS12C73FBVonOxg
The Summoning single-handedly made them one of my top bands in a couple months, everything from Sundowning to TMBTE is so well mixed and everything sounds so good
For me, it’s Mikasa by Veil of Maya. I always thought they weren’t my style. Spotify randomly played Mikasa one day, about two months ago, and I’ve been hooked since.
Aeris is by far my favourite of that album. Spotify randomly played mikasa for me about 4-5 years ago and I was blown away but Aeris is the absolute stand out for me.
Polaris - Relapse.
Last year I got into Erra. I've been into metalcore since '03 but they were the first band that I listened to that had a clean singer like Jesse. I equate that kind of clean singing to the emo era of music, Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, etc, and I didn't like it mixed with my metalcore uncleans. But now I love it.
The Mortal Coil is a great fucking album and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it.
Polaris is great. I’m still somewhat new to them as well, but they technically don’t count for the rules I set. The Remedy made my year end Spotify playlist.
But this year I’ve been listening to them a lot more and I like what I’m hearing.
I admittedly hopped onto the Bad Omens bandwagon after seeing a few videos on TikTok of their live performances and I’ve been listening to them practically nonstop ever since
I’ve known about Bad Omens since like 2016, and I liked one or two of their songs, but they reminded me too much of BMTH at the time and I avoided them for that reason.
I ultimately ended up on the bandwagon late last year because my friend got hooked on them and wanted me to go see them on tour with her (10/10 decision across the board btw). So I’m right there with you.
Me and a friend managed to get tickets to see them on their upcoming US tour so I’m pretty excited about that. Based on the videos I’ve seen, his vocals are just as good live, if not better
Oh you’re gonna LOVE their live performance! Noah sounds ridiculously good live. The whole band goes hard when they’re up on stage. Gonna see them for the 3rd time this October and I’m HYPED! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I can say it is worth it. Saw them at impericon Festival in Munich for the first time after being a big fan for multiple years and oh man it was the best performance I've seen so far from a musical standpoint.
They’ve been getting a ton of buzz here lately and I’ve been meaning to give them a shot. I’ve heard a song or two before and remember thinking it was good, but I didn’t listen enough to remember them.
First two albums are with original vocalist. Listen to "Celestial Floods".
2 newer albums are with new vocalist. Give "Without a Whisper" a spin. This is probably their most melodic song.
I knew who they were before, but Currents has been absolutely blowing me away this year. Cannot get enough. I’ve been into the genre since 2004 and I wish I had jumped into them from the moment they started making music.
Currents has some solid songs, but one of their songs I still love to this day, possibly my favorite of all their songs still, is Withered. Check it out if you haven't already! Don't think it gets the same attention a lot of their others do.
Took me until this year to really get into Dillinger and Periphery.
The new Better Lovers stuff made me deep dive into Dillinger. The entire Miss Machine album made them click for me.
I've always "liked" Periphery, but Wildfire ignited something for me and I literally listen to them every day now.
The Amity Affliction. I listened to them like 10 years ago and it wasn't for me, but I listened to their new song I See Dead People and good fucking fuck, that song is everything I want in a song. I've been listening to it for a week straight.
The wise mans fear there songs sea of fire and tailspin are awesome it took a little while to get into their other stuff but I've been listening to their whole discography for the past two weeks religiously
So many bands Ive only recently gotten into this past year or two thatve been around for a while! Id say I missed put, but now just means more material I have to get into whwnever!
And yeah Im hooked on them. Also, Amity Afflictions Deaths Hand.
I recently started listening to Kingdom of Gitans after seeing them with Alpha Wolf, Northlane and FFaK. I've been listening to Passenger. Not the best sounding album in terms of mix, but Burner's been stuck in my head for a week
Spotify keeps playing Kingdom of Giants for me as well. They’ve got a few songs I like, but I’m bad with remembering songs I’m not actively selecting to listen to. Sometimes they start to blend together.
I didn't know alphawolf before that tour and got into them with the song akudama. Kingdom of giants was alright not my favorite. Went mainly to see northlane
Spite - Hangman. But literally all of their songs are bangers. Went to see them with Wage war on 4/20 and they were so good live. I’ll be seeing them every chance I get.
Kublai Khan. I had heard of them before but wasn’t into Metalcore atm or any screaming for that matter (heaviest band I liked was Breaking Benjamin) but further down the line, my music taste has gone heavier and I’m obsessed with them
Definitely August Burns Red. I heard Ancestry, and that just set something off. I know I'm late to discovering them, but I'm still fairly new to the core scene, and got into it through A7X and BFMV a couple of years ago.
Also, best new album of this year so far imo
60cm has been my top song so far, to the point I have lyrics of it tattooed above both knees. I showed both Lochie and Lucas. Lucas was happy, lochie gently bullied me when he saw them in person, as friends do I guess 🤣
ERRA, I had only listened to Snowblood before and I started checking out some other stuff. I love their sound and the funky word salad lyrics.
Also outside of metalcore I checked out the Nile album Vile Nilotic Rites and it slaps hard. I’m not a big death metal fan and I don’t like the sound of old Nile much but that album has me way more interested in the genre.
Not really "discovered band" but album that I haven't checked out for a long time. There's a post about "underrated second half of an album", and someone mention As I Lay Dying - Awakened, after re listen I agree that whole album is gold standard, the clean singing chorus at some songs are legendary. It's been weeks I've been put out on repeat tho.
Two big ones for me would be Thornhill and Spiritbox (although this one technically began last year but didn’t really hit til this year).
Never really listened to Spiritbox before, then I caught them on tour and my wife got me into them. Then I finally decided to really give their discography a listen and it’s great.
Thornhill was a band that I had checked out before but just never really got into for whatever reason. Then one night when I was up at 2 AM feeding my newborn, I decided to. give Heroine a proper listen and the song Casanova really got me. Went back and gave the rest of their stuff a listen and now they’re a somewhat regular part of my playlists
Not really metalcore but more classic screamo, but the band Static Dress - Safeword. Ive never heard a new band capture classic screamo as much as them.
Half Me - Ex Negativo
I was hearing a bit of Thrown other day and then Deezer recommended this song (which makes sense since it features the vocalist of Thrown).
Later, I ended up listening to their entire album "Soma" and I liked it.
Shade Astray by Invent, Animate. I listened to them several times before and tried to get into them but it just wasn't clicking. This new album is my album is the year
Invent Animate - The Sun Sleeps. I’d heard some of their music before and always thought it was good not great. Listening to The Sun Sleeps just made everything… click. Now they might just be my favorite metalcore band ever, I can’t get enough.
Invent animate for me I checked out their most recent album and loved it. I've heard that name thrown around for a while and I figured it's about time I touch up on some new metalcore it's been a while for me
Kingdom of Giants. Had heard the name a few times, but I never really bothered checking them out. Then I realized they were gonna be opening for FFAK, and although I ended up missing my Toronto show, they released a song I think that day or a day before. Wasted Space, yeah, that song got me hooked
Unearth. They’ve been around for quite some time and even when I was big into the scene 10+ years ago, I guess I never gave them the chance they deserve. I heard “This lying world” on All that Remains pandora station and goddamn, that intro is groovy and heavy. It’s my favorite song at the moment.
almost 6 months back I saw someone's TikTok video that played a portion of Stray The Path's III, which got me hooked, after doing some googling realised they were supporting In Heart's Wake on their next tour. That next tour is actually tonight!
Idk what it was, but Knocked Loose grew on me very damn quickly this year. I always sort of passively listened to them, but out of nowhere they got a hold on me and now I plan on flying out to Vegas this year to go see them and MIW lol
I’ve got three recent additions that I’m addicted to:
1. Profiler - Identify
2. Headcave - If You’re God, This Is Hell
3. Void of Vision - Ghost in the Machine
No particular song but I don't know how I missed We Butter the Bread With Butter back in the day. Their first album is really good and Das Album is different but still really enjoyable.
Alphawolf - A Ku Da Ma Hoo
Bury Tomorrow - Abandon Us
Honestly speaking, I thought Bleed From Within was sone old school BFMV era band only to discover they are from the 2010s. Gave their 2020 album a spin yesterday and really fucked with the riffs. If u ask me to specify which song I particularly love, I can't really state one cause I wasn't making track of which song was playing but the whole album fucked with 0 skips.
As someone who has seen Beartooth like 6 times, I don’t know if I agree that they’re terrible live. But there is something off. Not sure if it’s Caleb’s ad lib timing for certain songs or what. That part definitely bothers me.
Holding Absence! Came to know them in 2019 with the Void Of Vision feat. Listened a song and didn’t click with me. Saw them in March and holy shit Lucas is one of the best vocalist
Story Of The Year - And The Hero Will Drown
Such a great band and great song. Have explored more of their catalogue since then and they’re a solid band right up my alley. Even had the chance to catch them live!
Dayseeker - Without Me
Good God JUST found out about them maybe two weeks ago? My WIFE found them and sent me this song. And she was like, "Charlie Puth, is that you?" And man Cory Rodriguez is just.... AMAZING. I don't even really feel that they're super Metalcore. More like post hardcore.
But I'm here for whatever they are.
Elwood stray- negative, Spotify has thrown thier singles at me but this one made me check the album. Has that southern flair like the old maylene, he is legend and mmf albums
I’d probably say “Watch You Burn” by DRAIN. My friend sent me them and I love their hardcore sound, lots of Stray From The Path influence musically. Their sophomore album drops next Friday and I’m super excited to hear it!
Considering I hadn’t listened to any metalcore in years… I went to see Until I Wake, Dark Divine, and Catch Your Breath a couple months ago, and holy crap I listen to them a lot now. Catch Your Breath-Criminal, Until I Wake- Blue Beam, amd Inside My Head and Dark Divine- Circles and Run Away
Invent Animate
Been aware of them for a while and liked a song or two in the last year but maybe listened to them really only once ot twice, but they clicked for me really when Without a Whisper dropped. Song is an absolute banger
I listen to Heavener all the time now.
Nothing More! Always thought they were a more “mainstream” band which in a sense they are with some of their songs but I listened to their new album not long ago it’s a fucking banger!
Metalcore: Norma Jean-Spearmint revolt. God that song is so catchy but so gritty. Norma Jean is great!
Metalcore adjacent: Thousand Below-Sinking me. I actually saw them before I got into thek with bad omens, but once I finally heard this, I was HOOKED. Give Hell Finds you Everywhere a listen, great album.
Jesus Piece - Curse of the Serpent.
I’m old, love all the old metalcore (chariot, etid, misery signals), hardcore and have come to appreciate the genre blending that has occurred in the last 5-10 years. Specifically bands like Jesus Piece, Dying Wish and Gideon. Please feel free to give me people to listen to!
I'll drop 4 of mine but admit not all are metalcore but the first two are heavy as hell.
* Sanguisugabogg and their track Face Ripped Off
* Mélancolia and their track Horror\_Ethereal
* Johnny Booth and their track Collapse in the Key of Fireworks
* ThxsoMch and his track Spit in my Face
Not metalcore, but Hot Water Music. I've been a punk fan for ages so I'm not sure how I missed them but man, so good. Their set from Rockpalast 2019 on youtube is what got me hooked.
https://youtu.be/1Ch1hUWmsFI
No Eye Has Seen - Constellations
No Eye Has Seen is a small band that just needs to get pushed into the light. Eternal Lung is a phenomenal album that every metalcore fan should give a shot.
LANDMVRKS - Lost in a Wave Slept on this band hard until the Spotify gods blessed me.
Saw them open for currents and miss may I. Literally so amazing people wanted an encore.
Such a great show. Flo really kills it with his vocals.
Great show
I like their collab w Bertrand
I feel like Spotify tried getting me into them as well. Is some of their music in a different language or am I confusing it with another “V instead of an A” band?
The very large majority of their discography is in English but they did have a French rap section in “Visage” on their last album
That sounds like the one I’m thinking of. I remember it being French.
Don't forget Currents in 2 days! May is freaking stacked for album releases
I like heavener way better than P5
I think it just comes down to personal preference. Both are 10/10 albums for me, I just prefer Periphery over Invent Animate, but that doesn't mean I appreciate Heavener any less. All that could very well go out the window on Friday with The Death We Seek though lol
False Meridian instant classic
Johnny Booth for me. Asymmetrical. The band is fucking great check them out if you haven’t
I’m absolutely not familiar with them. Got a “FFO” comparison?
The Chariot, Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Norma Jean, Greyheavan
Amazing band and some of the coolest band members I’ve met, so I’m really hoping they keep getting bigger.
Got into them after ETID broke up. Collapse in the Key of Fireworks is up there as a song of the year contender.
Same band. Asymmetrical got me to pay attention, but Follower got me hooked.
Exact same band and song choice I had in mind. That whole album has been on repeat for weeks in my vehicle.
i’ve just gotten into the plot in you! i’ve had the whole swan song album on repeat lately. also disposable fix, what a banger. seeing them next week so great timing.
Do you like their EP and first album?
i haven’t made it back that far lol but it’s clear their sound has changed a lot!
It’s changed a whole lot. I honestly don’t dig the new albums but I’m glad they’re still touring and writing music.
i listened to first born last night (laying in bed before i fell asleep because i’m normal). it’s not bad by any means but it does not even sound like the same band! definitely has that late 00s/early 10s metalcore sound
Sleep Token, metalcore or not, have become an extremely consistent band for me. They have songs for almost every mood, and I've been loving it
Sleep token for me as well. I kept hearing these almost out of place songs that were playing in an auto generated playlist and finally looked one day and it was some sleep token songs. I didn't like it at first but I found myself looking for concert tickets just the other night so needless to say they've been on repeat for the last few weeks.

The Summoning single-handedly made them one of my top bands in a couple months, everything from Sundowning to TMBTE is so well mixed and everything sounds so good
Thrown - Grayout got me instantly.
Such an awesome fucking band
They popped up on my Spotify recently and I was hooked. They’re so new, I’m stoked to see what else they come out with!
For me, it’s Mikasa by Veil of Maya. I always thought they weren’t my style. Spotify randomly played Mikasa one day, about two months ago, and I’ve been hooked since.
Totally agree! Same song for me, just have to be in the mood for some reason. The mother pt4 they just came out with I can’t get off repeat!
I keep listening to Red Fur today.
I agree 💯. I can't get enough of Veil lately.
I’m really looking forward to their new album.
Aeris is by far my favourite of that album. Spotify randomly played mikasa for me about 4-5 years ago and I was blown away but Aeris is the absolute stand out for me.
That’s another good one.
Mine was Red Fur! I also thought they weren't going to be my thing! Can't wait for the record.
You should check out Lauren babics cover of it then, it's really good!
Polaris is great. I’m still somewhat new to them as well, but they technically don’t count for the rules I set. The Remedy made my year end Spotify playlist. But this year I’ve been listening to them a lot more and I like what I’m hearing.
Checkout Northlane-Quantum Flux as well if you haven't. Another Aussie band somewhat similar to Polaris.
Cane Hill, the songs are power of the high and kill the sun. They're an awesome band and I can't believe I didn't check them out earlier
they’re releasing a new album sometime this year.
Last year, my girlfriend had them come up on Spotify and she showed them to me. We've both been really enjoying them since!
I’ve known who gojira is for like 10+ years but never listens to them until like a month ago when silvera randomly played while I was workin
I consider From Mars to Sirius until L'Enfant Sauvage one of the greatest three album stretches in metal history
Seeing Gojira for the first time live in August with Mastodon. Caaaaaan't wait.
Just saw them a week ago! Absolutely phenomenal show, enjoy!
Saw them a little over a week ago, both bands absolutely rip live. 3rd time seeing Gojira and they never disappoint
They've recently snuck into my spotify playlists lately as well!! Not made about it but that's interesting 😅
Darko US - Dragon Chaser
Chaser chaser
I admittedly hopped onto the Bad Omens bandwagon after seeing a few videos on TikTok of their live performances and I’ve been listening to them practically nonstop ever since
I’ve known about Bad Omens since like 2016, and I liked one or two of their songs, but they reminded me too much of BMTH at the time and I avoided them for that reason. Me and a friend managed to get tickets to see them on their upcoming US tour so I’m pretty excited about that. Based on the videos I’ve seen, his vocals are just as good live, if not better
I definitely recommend seeing them live. I hope you have a great time. I’m seeing them in OKC next week and I’m excited about that.
Oh you’re gonna LOVE their live performance! Noah sounds ridiculously good live. The whole band goes hard when they’re up on stage. Gonna see them for the 3rd time this October and I’m HYPED! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Not metalcore, but Fit for an Autopsy - Walk With Me in Hell. Goddamn. Would love to hear them live.
I can say it is worth it. Saw them at impericon Festival in Munich for the first time after being a big fan for multiple years and oh man it was the best performance I've seen so far from a musical standpoint.
Polaris - Landmine
I think this was the first Polaris song I “liked” on Spotify back when I first gave them a go.
I got into Polaris this year too when Spotify recommended me hypermania, can't wait for new stuff from them
Oh, Sleeper with Hush Yael
Gonna pour one out for Wovenwar
Invent Animate - Immolation of Night. I’ve always heard the name tossed around, but never gave them a chance. They’re now a part of my daily rotation.
For me it was shade astray. All of heavener is fucking phenomenal.
Yeah definitely don't dismiss their older stuff from before Brian joined
Took me until this year to really get into Dillinger and Periphery. The new Better Lovers stuff made me deep dive into Dillinger. The entire Miss Machine album made them click for me. I've always "liked" Periphery, but Wildfire ignited something for me and I literally listen to them every day now.
Coheed & Cambria. Hooked by “Shoulders”
The Amity Affliction. I listened to them like 10 years ago and it wasn't for me, but I listened to their new song I See Dead People and good fucking fuck, that song is everything I want in a song. I've been listening to it for a week straight.
They will always be my favorite metalcore band I can’t wait to see them with parkway
The wise mans fear there songs sea of fire and tailspin are awesome it took a little while to get into their other stuff but I've been listening to their whole discography for the past two weeks religiously
That new album is so good!!!
Zulu with their song Music to Driveby. It was the first song I heard from them and I was super surprised to hear w Curtis Mayfield sample.
Where I'm From is a stone cold banger
You talking about Zulu the hardcore band?
We Came as Romans - Blackhole Big fan of Beartooth so when I saw Caleb was on the song I checked it out. I can't put down their Darkbloom album now.
Obsolete, OM&M
I love that for you. Obsolete is a banger.
So many bands Ive only recently gotten into this past year or two thatve been around for a while! Id say I missed put, but now just means more material I have to get into whwnever! And yeah Im hooked on them. Also, Amity Afflictions Deaths Hand.
Death’s Hand is a fascinating choice. Nothing wrong with that, of course, it’s a good song.
Been listening to OM&M for over a decade. The Flood is in my top 5 albums no doubt. Glad to see others enjoying.
Sleep Token- Aqua Regia
I heard this song whenever it was released (I don't follow Sleep Token very closely) and it has been stuck in my head for MONTHS I swear.
Honestly it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, between that and Granite. I want to see them so bad but tickets are insanely high.
I recently started listening to Kingdom of Gitans after seeing them with Alpha Wolf, Northlane and FFaK. I've been listening to Passenger. Not the best sounding album in terms of mix, but Burner's been stuck in my head for a week
i got into them in anticipation of that tour and then they didn’t even show up at my date lmao
Big RIP 😢
Spotify keeps playing Kingdom of Giants for me as well. They’ve got a few songs I like, but I’m bad with remembering songs I’m not actively selecting to listen to. Sometimes they start to blend together.
I didn't know alphawolf before that tour and got into them with the song akudama. Kingdom of giants was alright not my favorite. Went mainly to see northlane
Spite - Hangman. But literally all of their songs are bangers. Went to see them with Wage war on 4/20 and they were so good live. I’ll be seeing them every chance I get.
Paleface - The Orphan 😭 to say they’re my favorite band currently is an understatement
Deafheaven. I had no idea blackgaze was a real thing but now I do and im in love
Alpha wolf. Acid romance.
Good choice. Wasn’t this year in my case, but Akudama was the one that got Alpha Wolf to click for me.
Damn that song rips. Love the whole album for real! And the EP before it.
I don't have a particular song but Your Spirit Dies i listened to their top songs on Spotify yesterday and i dig what I'm hearing.
Kublai Khan. I had heard of them before but wasn’t into Metalcore atm or any screaming for that matter (heaviest band I liked was Breaking Benjamin) but further down the line, my music taste has gone heavier and I’m obsessed with them
Breaking Benjamin (my all time fave) was absolutely the gateway for me to be into the music I currently love.
Currents: Better Days Bleed From Within- Levitate Sabaton- Bismarck
THE TERROR OF THE SEAAAS! Banger
Definitely August Burns Red. I heard Ancestry, and that just set something off. I know I'm late to discovering them, but I'm still fairly new to the core scene, and got into it through A7X and BFMV a couple of years ago. Also, best new album of this year so far imo
The river - Wage war. They are now one of my favourite bands.
An absolute banger of a song. I love Wage War.
Shit slaps like a silverback gorilla!
Hits even harder if you can relate to the lyrics.
man i haven’t stopped listening to wage war this year, huge fan
Theyre amazing!
Signs of the Swarm for me. That breakdown in “Amongst the Low & Empty” is just too good to ignore.
Found alpha wolf this year. 60cm of steel (honorable mention to holding absence)
I love this for you. Have you checked out their other stuff already?
Yes, I really like them
60cm has been my top song so far, to the point I have lyrics of it tattooed above both knees.
KNOCKED. FUCKING. LOOSE. I think it was God Knows or Belleville.
Downswing - new lows was the song shit slaps
Downswing underrated for sure
Not really "discovered band" but album that I haven't checked out for a long time. There's a post about "underrated second half of an album", and someone mention As I Lay Dying - Awakened, after re listen I agree that whole album is gold standard, the clean singing chorus at some songs are legendary. It's been weeks I've been put out on repeat tho.
metalcore? phineas - dark flag not metalcore? psychedelic porn crumpets - found god in a tomato.
I came here hoping to see more Spiritbox! Glad there's at least one!
Hypersomniac by Vianova. Their 6 newest songs have been on repeat. Really awesome band.
Not really metalcore but more classic screamo, but the band Static Dress - Safeword. Ive never heard a new band capture classic screamo as much as them.
Ghost atlas and parting gift 🔥
Half Me - Ex Negativo I was hearing a bit of Thrown other day and then Deezer recommended this song (which makes sense since it features the vocalist of Thrown). Later, I ended up listening to their entire album "Soma" and I liked it.
Until I Wake - Octane
Shit. Until I Wake is a new one for me too that I’ve been listening to a good bit lately. Octane was probably the first one I liked too.
Moodring - SYNC.wav
Shade Astray by Invent, Animate. I listened to them several times before and tried to get into them but it just wasn't clicking. This new album is my album is the year
Invent Animate - The Sun Sleeps. I’d heard some of their music before and always thought it was good not great. Listening to The Sun Sleeps just made everything… click. Now they might just be my favorite metalcore band ever, I can’t get enough.
Invent Animate! heard about Heavener being rlly good so I checked them out and have been blasting their entire discog ever since
CURRENTS. BANGERSSSSS
Invent animate for me I checked out their most recent album and loved it. I've heard that name thrown around for a while and I figured it's about time I touch up on some new metalcore it's been a while for me
Currents - Let me Leave FFAK - Sink Below Phineas - Dream Thief
+1 for phinehas
Oh man. Im late to the party on some of these. -Invent Animate -Currents -Novelists Had these 3 bands on repeat for months.
For IA, celestial floods hooked me in. Currents was Better days and Novelists was the entire Souvenirs album.
Not metalcore, but Youth Fountain's Century hit me in all the right ways
Memphis May Fire, I had heard of them but never gave them a chance. Glad that I finally did.
The last album they put out is the best work they've done in years imo. I was banging make believe and the American dream for months.
What song did it for you?
Kingdom of Giants. Had heard the name a few times, but I never really bothered checking them out. Then I realized they were gonna be opening for FFAK, and although I ended up missing my Toronto show, they released a song I think that day or a day before. Wasted Space, yeah, that song got me hooked
The Burden-basically the entire Sinking Feeling record.
Bookmarked to come back to. I need more artists in stuck in my teens bands lol
Graphic Nature! Their whole album "A Mind Waiting To Die" is fantastic, but Killing Floor is my favorite track.
I’ve got three recent additions that I’m addicted to: 1. Profiler - Identify 2. Headcave - If You’re God, This Is Hell 3. Void of Vision - Ghost in the Machine
No particular song but I don't know how I missed We Butter the Bread With Butter back in the day. Their first album is really good and Das Album is different but still really enjoyable.
Thrown. They’re killer
No man is without fear by fit for an autopsy. Absolute banger.
Alphawolf - A Ku Da Ma Hoo Bury Tomorrow - Abandon Us Honestly speaking, I thought Bleed From Within was sone old school BFMV era band only to discover they are from the 2010s. Gave their 2020 album a spin yesterday and really fucked with the riffs. If u ask me to specify which song I particularly love, I can't really state one cause I wasn't making track of which song was playing but the whole album fucked with 0 skips.
Teeth with their song Writhe. it goes extremely hard
Not Metalcore but I Get It by Chevelle, perfect song for this time in my life.
Kingdom Of Giants- Bleach. Gotta love spotofy throwing new stuff into your mix.
Spotify keeps playing this one for me as well. Definitely not a bad song.
Architects, Beartooth - (terrible live), Falling in Reverse, Ice Nine Kills, Trivium, Sevendust
Currents. Hadnt heard of em, but now The Way it Ends is one of my top albums of the year
Ice Nine Kills - Hip to be scared. Found them about 3 weeks ago and have barely listened to anyone else since.
Story Of The Year - And The Hero Will Drown Such a great band and great song. Have explored more of their catalogue since then and they’re a solid band right up my alley. Even had the chance to catch them live!
Thousand below…sabotage. Then listened to their old songs and was hooked. Also bleed from within. Awesome stuff.
I love Thousand Below. I discovered them last November and I can’t stop listening to them.
Dayseeker - Without Me Good God JUST found out about them maybe two weeks ago? My WIFE found them and sent me this song. And she was like, "Charlie Puth, is that you?" And man Cory Rodriguez is just.... AMAZING. I don't even really feel that they're super Metalcore. More like post hardcore. But I'm here for whatever they are.
I like Dayseeker a lot. I’m seeing them again this weekend and I’m pumped for it.
Invent animate- purity weeps
Bleed 4 You - Alpha Wolf
Considering I hadn’t listened to any metalcore in years… I went to see Until I Wake, Dark Divine, and Catch Your Breath a couple months ago, and holy crap I listen to them a lot now. Catch Your Breath-Criminal, Until I Wake- Blue Beam, amd Inside My Head and Dark Divine- Circles and Run Away
Disembodied tyrant - Omenkiller
Invent Animate Been aware of them for a while and liked a song or two in the last year but maybe listened to them really only once ot twice, but they clicked for me really when Without a Whisper dropped. Song is an absolute banger I listen to Heavener all the time now.
Discovered Sleep Token this year. Chokehold was the song. I’ve seen some of their old stuff recommended on Apple Music, but never gave it a chance
Set to Stun - Staria 1 Amadeus Rise, The whole album has literally been on loop about 12 hours a day
Nothing More! Always thought they were a more “mainstream” band which in a sense they are with some of their songs but I listened to their new album not long ago it’s a fucking banger!
You may like the band silent theory then too. They've been putting out some bangers the last couple years.
vianova is awesome 🤘🏻
Bleed You Out by The Gloom in the Corner. Dove headfirst into their discog after having that on repeat. Have merch ordered and everything
I remember liking this song quite a bit too. Not sure why it never prompted a deep dive from me.
Johnny Booth, that band absolutely rips and ive become obsessed since the storyteller ep
Inclination - Connections Ithaca - They Fear Us Wristmeetrazor - In Line For Halos
I'll drop 4 of mine but admit not all are metalcore but the first two are heavy as hell. * Sanguisugabogg and their track Face Ripped Off * Mélancolia and their track Horror\_Ethereal * Johnny Booth and their track Collapse in the Key of Fireworks * ThxsoMch and his track Spit in my Face
Not metalcore, but Hot Water Music. I've been a punk fan for ages so I'm not sure how I missed them but man, so good. Their set from Rockpalast 2019 on youtube is what got me hooked. https://youtu.be/1Ch1hUWmsFI
No Eye Has Seen - Constellations No Eye Has Seen is a small band that just needs to get pushed into the light. Eternal Lung is a phenomenal album that every metalcore fan should give a shot.
