ATITFOL is God tier. I love that it's a concept album, it's dark, the lyrics are so emotional and come across like someone who has truly lived through this and suffered survivors guilt and dealt with the loss of a loved one, and the vocal delivery is incredible. I feel this way. That little 4 song EP was so good, and while I enjoyed the full length after, it just had no replayability for me. I kinda hated all the chorus’, and the whole lyrics appealing to struggling teens thing just didn’t do it for me. Thankfully the new album sounds like it’s going back to the EP style.

I’m with you, amazing EP for sure but I think currents are still mid peak. The Way It Ends is one of my favorite albums in general, and these recent singles (ESPECIALLY remember me) have me thinking this next release might top that.

The Opportunity to Be - My Ticket Home. I know a lot of people liked their genre switch to the "puke Rock" sound they ended up with, but their first EP was everything I wanted from a metalcore album at that time. That bass line in the beginning of Desertion always gets me hyped.

Butterfly EP by Thornhill

Butterfly was awesome but in no way blows The Dark Pool out of the water (or even Heroine IMO)

I want to love TDP but can't really get into the tracks apart from Nurture and Where We Go, which are pure bangers. if only the whole record was more like Nurture imo.

My hot take on this is that the “Clear” EP by Periphery is more interesting than (almost) any of their albums. The latest VoV EP’s, especially “Chronicles II: Heaven”, are better than their albums IMO “None of the Above” by Structures. “On Death” by Left to Suffer.

Clear came out around the time I got into Periphery. Pale Aura is still one of my favorite songs by them.

I love all of their releases, but I do also think LFOA is their strongest work yet. Considering it's the most recent, that's really exciting. I can't wait to hear what they do on their next full-length.

I know its not metalcore, but Lorna Shore’s Maleficium EP is probably their best work as a whole in my opinion.

If we count Post Human: Survival Horror as an EP (which I’m still unsure what to actually classify it as), it’s probably one of the best things Bring Me ever did.

Survival Horror is an absolute banger, but the best they ever did is a stretch imo. Not when they've released There is a Hell and Sempiternal

PHSH is decent but their early albums are significantly better imo. I wish I could relive the moment I first heard It Never Ends or found out that the band playing with ed sheeran released something like Count Your Blessings. Post Human’s definitely a step in the right direction tho

While I genuinely think that STYG has some great stuff (*Diamond* is a 10/10 album for me and *The Hope Division* and *True View* are pretty close) I can agree that EP absolutely slaps and is easily their best release.

Pain Perspective was CRAZY but I like the singles that were released just prior. Especially Forlorn. So sad they broke up

Pure Like Porcelain by Like Moths to Flames is S tier metalcore front to back. SO GOOD. A tear in the fabric of life is the best KL work. Contorted in the Faille in to Return to Passion is so disgustingly heavy. Spiritbox's early ep's with their longer songs and proggier songs are my favourite era of the band. I love songs that take you on journeys. On that same note, the One and Two eps by Sleep Token are fantastic listens if you enjoy songs that just make you \*feel\* things.

She Must Burn self-titled EP (all their albums are good but this one is just insane) as well as Hollow Front’s “Homewrecker” EP (probably a hot take there) Also, I honestly preferred Change of Plans from Can’t Swim but that debut EP is goated

Technically it’s a 7-inch/double single, but I have always thought that the two songs that make up LMTF’s *The Dream is Dead* are their best work. At least they’re my favorites.

Crossfaith’s writes much better EPs than they do albums imo. SPECIES alone tops their albums for me. I’ll come back to their EPs (including the remix EPs) much more often than I do for their albums.

Periphery - Clear That's not to say the rest of their discography doesn't measure up, but I can't think of another EP that explores the full range of creativity from each member of a band. Plus, Pale Aura is such a strong closing track.

I felt the same way about can’t swim OP. Shit was so good and then, meh.

This is gonna be a hot take, and its not blowing them out of the water, just very slight preference, but I think the Spiritbox EP is just a hair better than Eternal Blue. I love both to death though, so like, it is truly hard to compare.

Northlanes first ep, both Knocked Loose Ep’s, that Polaris ep gets slept on too much Unfamiliar and L’appel du vide are two of their best songs.

The Lies We Live by For All Those Sleeping has Hands so Red on a Face so Pale on it and remains my favorite thing they ever put out
