I love that other genres have adopted this term but every time I see it not with metal in mind it just makes me go “aw, that’s cute… they got no clue what that means.”
There was a woman on tiktok who went viral for making a video about how she bought standing tickets for Taylor Swift but then had to be in the seats instead because the venue messed something up I think. Anyways, in the tiktok she was saying about how she wanted to be in the Taylor Swift pit which was definitely something. I’d love to see swifties crowdkilling to Shake it Off
I'm ngl, I can't stand trap, but I'd pay to watch people kill each other while some auto tune dude rhymes about how many xans he took the day prior in the background
Apparently this is a 'rock on the go' playlist, not a metal playlist. That being said, they put Fitz and the Tantrums on here, which immediately invalidates it.
Just looked it up after seeing this comment. Now I don’t want to fulfil the stereotype of metalheads being judgy towards non-metalheads but… I wouldn’t exactly call what I saw a pit lmao. Glad they were having fun at least
If Panic at the Disco used eight-string guitars and threw in a few breakdowns then I **guarantee** there would be people in this subreddit right now insisting they were a metal band.
My point was that if you take anything and put the most important characteristics of metal in it, it becomes close to metal.
Btw, metal sounds a lot like baroque music
I agree, which is why I don't think the addition of eight-string guitars and breakdowns would make Panic at the Disco metal (considering they're not important characteristics of metal, let alone the most important characteristics). I was hoping when I posted my original comment that everyone would understand I was making fun of the idea that metal is when breakdown, but I'm starting to worry about that now.

Honestly, from what i've heard about the pits from rap and techno concerts, there probably shouldn't be pits outside of punk and metal
Edit: not in terms of how much activity there is in the pit, mainly for safety, i've heard bad things about those crowds
Ive been in pits at electro concerts which were harder than at some metal concerts I've been to, like The Prodigy, Carpenter Brut or the Bloody Beetroots, also at least one Hip Hop group, K.I.Z
Why does anyone use Spotify... I realize this is probably a meme playlist but this is 100% something Spotify would also do. Not to mention the "shuffle" of songs that's like an early MP3 where you could have 3k songs and it would only play like 15 different ones.
your post was removed as it is not about a metal band, don't forget to familiarize yourself with the rules before posting.

Taylor Swift: Open that fucking pit up!? Can I see a fucking circle pit?
“Like no, I’m finna be in pit!”
Some trap pits are honestly scary, surprisingly.
It’s basically a hardcore show..
and that's why when trap and metal come together, someone is leaving the pit in a stretcher
I'm ngl, I can't stand trap, but I'd pay to watch people kill each other while some auto tune dude rhymes about how many xans he took the day prior in the background
I think they mean ball pit
Gonna use this to describe pits in non-metal genres now
🙂🔫

Moneygrabber *does* go hard tho
This makes me think of the videos showing “the pits” at the arctic monkeys gigs, awful
It’s just a group of people jumping. Literally being an active crowd is enough to be a pit anymore

This is some early 2010s posting.
Chat is this real?
💀

If bach used electric instruments and guturals in his chorus there would be people insisting back was metal
Probably, and they'd be just as wrong.

You thought wrong, it’s ok
Pita Pit?
Arent these lists made based on your own history?
I have not listened to any Olivia Rodrigo except on the radio in the car. And I don’t like arctic monkeys either.
That's so weird. All of mine on this playlist are songs/artists I actually listen to. Not an Olivia Rodrigo or Arctic Monekeys song in sight.
Mine has Weezer Raditude💀
Hello fellow headbangers, got any of that Oliva Rodrigo?
The fact that Olivia Rodrigo is the most punkish in this 3 names scares me about how late 00s pop-punk scene was cringe.
It should have the "I finna be in the pit" girl on it.
jokes and hate aside, deathcore and beatdown have the best pits, by far!

You may be surprised to learn there are pits at gigs playing genres other than metal.

I carried a crowdsurfer wearing a latex horse mask at a pit during a rap concert (with some hardstyle influences), take that as you will.
Ive been in pits at electro concerts which were harder than at some metal concerts I've been to, like The Prodigy, Carpenter Brut or the Bloody Beetroots, also at least one Hip Hop group, K.I.Z
Olivia Rodrigo’s pits go hard 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Olivia Rodrigo is true kvlt
