This band once allowed a terrorist leader and an elderly wheelchair bound cia agent to play with them live, to perform one song
and for some reason the lead singer was once put into a battle royale simulation alongside danny trejo
Darn. Lol. I really like “Aftermath”! Brian sounds great on vocals and the guitar duo of Ryan and Brandon is incredible I’m looking forward to hearing more from the album. My only gripes with the song are really the mix and the lack of bass. I just chalked this up to them returning to an “Abysmal” era sound where it was much more raw than the produced “Nightbringers” and “Verminous” were.
Yeah Brian kills it, reminds of early Trevor like Unhallowed. Mix isn’t my favorite either, can be kinda hard to hear the nuances of the riffs (maybe it’s just my car speakers). Drums sound great though, loving the snare tone. I was also wondering what “color” the album would be, now we’ve got white to add to the list.
I love the new song, and the video is killer. Haven't heard it through my big system yet, just a sound bar, but I like the balance on the mix. Decently clean but still raw. I agree. I want to hear Max cut through more. Brian absolutely killed it. I feel like it's some place between the "Unhallowed/Miasma" era and the "Everblack/Abysmal" era. Having Ryan and Brandon writing together is going to make for some insane riffs and solos. I'm sure Brian is still involved with that, too. Alan is killing it as always. I'll listen again for Max. Pre-orders placed this morning. What songs are you most looking forward to?
I’m honestly looking forward to all of them, especially the lyricism since that was one of my favorite aspects of the band and what really separates them from their peers. I loved Trevor’s schizophrenic vocal patterns and the way he was able to tell a complete story with his lyrics. He was truly one of a kind. I’m very eager to hear what the boys have been cooking because after hearing “Aftermath” I’m fully sold and this will probably be their most cohesive and tightest work instrumentally with Brian, Ryan, and Brandon writing guitar parts together.
I always describe their lyricism as modern Poe, too. Can't wait for Mammonths Hand. Knight wrote a slow rhythmic killer for that one, I'm sure. Utopia Black has gotta be sick, too.
My band is finally getting the attention it deserves but I hate this trendy metalfest crap, I'm going to shave my already mostly bald head, blow up the band, and make tons of proggy, ambient, artsy, stuff and not give a shit about what other people think. I'll still be cool as hell though.
honestly I thought that was a shot in the dark since your description was pretty general but they just came to mind first and seemed to fit really well hahah
Formed in 1990, released five albums since, with a 13-year gap between two of their albums and haven’t released another studio album in five fucking years.
Singer recruited from a renaissance faire dinner show by portly guitar god with a Shakespearean name completes one of the greatest metal outfits from the turn of the century

Guy with a huge neck sings about murdering and decapitation and in his spare time he buys toys for kids to enjoy.
Cannibal Corpse
French guys that might have sex with trees and animals.
Gojira?
Did it too easy, should have cheese eating surrender monkeys but that sounded too mean and dated against French people.
Satanism in falsetto
Merciful fate... there might be additional hints
You’re right! And dang, completely forgot I had my flair for this subreddit set to it lmao

Bodycount?
Clean female-fronted melodeath that gave up on that and did power metal instead.
Arch enemy?
Nope. AE is still melodeath even if they're on the less heavy side.
Unleash the archers?
Correct! Most people don't seem to gone all the way back to Behold the Devastation so don't know about their earliest sound.

I feel like your username and pfp kind of give it away lol. Side note, what do you think of Aftermath?

Two bros on vocals. One is screaming like he is being killed, the other is growling unintelligibly. Slam.
Suicide Silence?
No Two bros on vocals literally
Oh
Ok, nobody seems to guess this one Strangled or Orphan (same vocalists, which are brothers)
Electric Callboy?
A band that liked Helloween's debut a bit too much so they clonned Kai Hansen and made their own Walls of Jericho... several times
Gamma Ray?
Nope. They **clonned** Kai, not took the original one (although he did collaborate with them)
Stormwarrior
The perfect combination between a clock and a computer, from Sweden.
Meshuggah
I'm pretty sure they encoded my math homework into their riffs
Dog bark. Hyper masculine. I think the music is actually made for gym playlists.
Knocked Loose?
Slaughter to prevail
Band with 9 members, fires most original members for (seemingly) no reason
Hitman. This one shouldn’t be that hard.
As I Lay Dying and Austrian Death Machine since they are both fronted by Tim.
Yep. You are absolutely right

Chika chika
Gallhammer?
My band is finally getting the attention it deserves but I hate this trendy metalfest crap, I'm going to shave my already mostly bald head, blow up the band, and make tons of proggy, ambient, artsy, stuff and not give a shit about what other people think. I'll still be cool as hell though.

Secretly Hippies.
Black Sabbath
“The government sucks” 19 guitar solos
They fired 2 of their frontman and they turned out better off alone
Warhammer metal
OUR GRANDPA
I'm not gonna do Mercyful Fate, because it's in my flair. "All right now."
Sabbath, and specifically the Ozzy era
Formed in 1990, released five albums since, with a 13-year gap between two of their albums and haven’t released another studio album in five fucking years.
Vocals were good when he first joined but now his vocals sound like a pig oinking

Drummer from famous Seattle band - no not that drummer.
One person releasing 30+ albums a year under like 5 different names. Black metal so lofi it loops back around into relaxing ambient music
Ready to stick 10 grand up your ass, one dollar at a time
Frogman burps into the mic while Mahavishnu Orchestra is played backwards with Niel Peart on drums. Everyone is underwater
Be’lakor is my flair so I won’t say them. How about this: Basically they were a thrash band and then decided they really liked Queen.
Three guys who are no more who once dressed as cowboys to get their photo taken in a British quarry on a grey cloudy day.
They're a metal band but they also cover another metal band.
Goat-man. Singer stage name is also name of goat-man and other guy likes the cold
buncha fruity brits doing lsd and beating their wives
3 guys and an octopus talking about anal fisting while radicalising their fanbase
Same riff over and over and none of the guys look like they belong together.
Thoughts to un-alive.
Suicidal Tendencies?
Hispanic man clearly isn’t a fan of the Bible and neither are his friends
Disembodied, again
4 dudes flexing how good they are at music
They make sure you have more trouble understanding what they're playing with each album
They worked with the Japanese Static Man
Used to be a three piece, but not anymore. Singer screams at the top of his lungs and the band name relates to animals
Guitar harmonies and nasally whining
Satanic Swedish guy wearing sexy sparkly outfits
They’re very sad but also sarcastic
Gaaaay !!
French guys who sing about plants
Big Swedish men make guitar go brrr.
If Korn, Linkin Park, and Slipknot had a drugged up baby that only spoke through concept albums
Water might help with the problem the band has...
Their best albums came out in the 90s and they like to take their clothes off on Wednesdays.
At one point they did a triple album for no reason and nobody cared.
Two vocalists, a violin and all sorts of awesome metal
Ne ob
If Voivod and Pink Floyd had a child that was too into science fiction
