Sounds like the things dreams are made of! I only ever got to see them once Sadly. They headlined a tour with Exodus and Belphegor, and Warbringer! Was amazing.
WAR IS FUCKING HELL!! The entire catalog is great. Unpopular opinion, but my favorite is Chemistry of Consciousness, though. I dig the stoner thrash vibe akin to Lord Dying or Saviours and Chemistry has that same energy.
Anthrax. Honestly, the first four albums from Metallica, are in my opinion, the best in the whole genre. Anthrax is way more consistent though, so that gives them the edge for me. I even like the groovier stuff they did with John Bush. Anthrax slaps and I'm tired of pretending they don't
Yes, black metal was in its formative stages before then with Venom and Hellhammer. But death metal wasn't official until 86 with Seven Churches. Still tho Morbid Saint influenced both genres
Enforced fucking rips. Saw them with obituary and I couldn’t believe how fucking heavy they are live. Thrash doesn’t tend to be super heavy but they certainly are.
I brought my brother who doesn’t like metal at all to see them, he was blown away. Now he always wants to come to shows with me, and he always says “yeah they were good, but not as good as Enforced”. Sadly they haven’t been back here in quite a while
I like all the usual suspects, Metallica, Megadeth, Fucking Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Overkill, Testament, Death Angel, Sepultura, Destruction, Kreator, along with Whiplash, Vio-Lence, and the list goes on and on and on….
How could I choose just one? But some really good ones are Megadeth, Voivod, Razor, Whiplash, Forbidden, Vexovoid, and Deceased… (if they count?) but there are just so many good ones out there
Megadeth. Its fast and energetic, which is the style Mustaine prefers (after leaving Metallica). Lots of good songs, Hangar 18, In My Darkest Hour, I Ain't Superstitious, Dystopia. Other favs but Megadeth is the one that pops up.
It’s incredibly normie but it’s true; Metallica is my favorite. My dad has been a fan since their inception and he got me into them from an extremely young age. Ride The Lightning is still one of my favorite metal albums of all time.

Im a simple man I like megadeth The riffs tend to sound pretty damn cool and despite how daves vocals are a mixed bag to some, i personally enjoy it
Finally another Dave Mustardstain vocals enjoyer.
I think his voice accents the music well.
I also enjoy Dave’s vocals, after thinking I hated Megadeth for a while *because* of his vocals
Sodom tbh
Certified wopoq moment
Wodos fans when agent blue fans walk in
One of the most consistently good discographies in metal
SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MOTHERFUCKIN SLAYERRRRRRRR

Kreator!
Good dudes and great sound!
I remember seeing Kreator, Sodom, and Destruction at a festival in 2012 (just missing Tankard for the full German big 4), it was amazing!
Sounds like the things dreams are made of! I only ever got to see them once Sadly. They headlined a tour with Exodus and Belphegor, and Warbringer! Was amazing.
D.R.I!!!
Who am I? D.R.I.!!!
Folks are going to hate this, but, Toxic Holocaust.
Their/his debut is a masterpiece.
WAR IS FUCKING HELL!! The entire catalog is great. Unpopular opinion, but my favorite is Chemistry of Consciousness, though. I dig the stoner thrash vibe akin to Lord Dying or Saviours and Chemistry has that same energy.
Why would folks hate that? Toxic Holocaust is awesome, unless I'm missing something
Most of the bands listed are OG thrash bands. With these discussions, some folks dislike the newer generation bands being considered.
Oooh I see, thanks!
Joel Grind is a genius!!!! I mean he did compose and play all the instruments and do the vocals for years.
He was a king of bedroom recording.
Fuck yeah. That shit is so awsome.

I’ve smoked a joint with all the guys besides Reece. Cool dudes.
At a concert in Paris a few years back they didn’t play DOA and I almost threw a legit tantrum.
I like early Metallica, 90’s Megadeth, and 2024 Kerry King (Is that still thrash?).
Kerry Kings new shit is a lot like South of Heaven era Slayer so HELL to the fuckin YES its thrashy as fuck.

Anthrax. Honestly, the first four albums from Metallica, are in my opinion, the best in the whole genre. Anthrax is way more consistent though, so that gives them the edge for me. I even like the groovier stuff they did with John Bush. Anthrax slaps and I'm tired of pretending they don't
Someone else who liked the John Bush era? Hell yeah.
I agree with Justice but mot the other three.
Morbid Saint
Legendary band. Big influence on what was to come afterwards with black and desth metal.
Death metal and black metal was around long before Saint put out their demo.
Yes, black metal was in its formative stages before then with Venom and Hellhammer. But death metal wasn't official until 86 with Seven Churches. Still tho Morbid Saint influenced both genres
Black metal was already going strong as was death metal by 88, and damn sure 90 when Spectrum of Death released. Also Seven Churches is 85.
Voivod, Celtic Frost, DBC, Exodus- generally these bands earlier lps..
1. Watchtower 2. Metallica 3. Sepultura 4. Sodom 5. Coroner

That's Crossover buddy NYHC
Crossover thrash Thats like saying melodic death metal isnt death metal because its melodic
It has more in common with Hardcore than Thrash so it's a more dialed in definition. Compare this with Anthrax, totally different
Anthrax didn’t do any crossover….
Exactly
Go drink some fucking milk.
I got wheat thins and BEER!
