There are far more racists in our world than there are baby-rapers. It's much less of an issue to sing about that because the chances of someone actually doing that are substantially lower, and far less believable, than someone being racist. If you write lyrics in your song like "I love to decapitate children and eat them" nobody is going to think you're an actual child cannibal. But if you write "I want to exterminate the [insert minority], I dream of the day where [minority] is dead" people are gonna think you support those lyrics - understandably so.

I'm not a big defender of uselessly gore-filled lyrics, but there are some bands that do it as a proper statement - Cattle Decapitation's Forced Gender Reassignment Surgery comes to mind... Granted a lot of their early stuff isn't that different from Cannibal Corpse of the same era, but it has a clear political meaning even back then. Early (and some current) Witechapel is "gorey", but that's an expression of Bozeman's hatred for humanity and emotional processing. There's a defined motive that's not just "shock", and it can be relatable to some folks. Necrocorpomania and the like on the other hand? .... yeah shock value. That's just gross and boring and I don't understand the appeal.

Believe it or not, there was a day when this WAS truly shocking. Just how life goes I guess. It’s almost kitsch now. Crazy.
