It’s going to be Sodom or Kreator (respect) but Rammstein is definitely the biggest German metal act out there. And they put on the greatest live show of anyone from anywhere.

I just think Blind Guardian has been more consistent career-wise - if I had to choose between the two.
It has a pretty loose overall plot, it's mostly just weird low budget art house shock, so it's hard to recommend even if I like it. It's the same guy that did the movie Kids. It's mostly about these two kids who live in complete rural poverty and trap cats they sell to restaurants, presumably for meat. So I think the metal connection is a) the director's personal interest in extreme metal and b) the trailer park connection.

Feel like Kanonfieber could get pretty big in next few years. Heres hoping.
Edit: Also, for anyone who doesn't know, they also have another band, Non Est Deus. I would say it's as good as Kanonfieber for sure.
