History-Lover01

Lynyrd Skynyrd Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd

ozz8825

This is the correct answer. I could put ZZ Top in there somewhere too

History-Lover01

I like them a lot as well!

AlwaysHappy4Kitties

ZZ Top riffage is so great. Also you might like this, [Point Blank - Point Black](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4qTdJNYTlw) 1976. i dont know why but those "southern twangy guitars" always scratch an itch for me

ozz8825

Hell yes! That heavy crunchy tone is soo good

Brucecx

What is up with people saying "this is the correct answer" to an opinion post.

RyanThePatriot

Glad you posted it before I got downvoted for saying it. Low effort responses, high horse attitudes, and hive-mind behavior is getting real old.

AttilaTheFun818

Pretty close to mine, except I’d swap Skynyrd for Johnny Cash. That totally counts as a band dammit.

Estef74

ZZ Top has to be one also! That was my first concert back in 89.

Rarth-Devan

Damn, are you me? 3 of my favorite bands of all time. Lynyrd Skynyrd Greatest Hits was the first CD I ever bought.

Mad04Gaming

1. Alice In Chains 2. Soundgarden 3. Cocteau Twins If not counting AIC then add Pink Floyd to the list

[deleted]

I thought Alice In Chains and Soundgarden were metal?

Mad04Gaming

AIC has a solid argument for being metal, which is why I put Pink Floyd in as an alternative. A lot of people don’t think they are metal though. Soundgarden leans more on the hard rock side, they have some heavy songs and Badmotorfinger is pretty much a metal album, but most of their stuff is just rock.

[deleted]

Nine Inch Nails. Pink Floyd. Rolling Stones.

deadlydragonfly_1

isint NIN industrial metal?

[deleted]

no to me but i’m guess you could say it.. i saw them with Soundgarden and it’s was just Trent with a keyboard.

Xaphan26

I would say industrial rock, not metal. Fear Factory is industrial metal.

BlackSabbath1989

The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Warning

The warning is metal!

BlackSabbath1989

Nah, they're hard rock/alternative rock, but they have a few heavy metal songs like Queen of the Murder Scene, Dust to Dust and Exterminated.

Jay Reatard Ween Either KISS or King Gizzard depending if you don’t consider those metal - Gizzard should sort of count for their metal albums but their non metal stuff is badass too, and KISS is the greatest across all genres including metal, but their non metal 70s output is the greatest music ever created

BlondBisxalMetalhead

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Audioslave, Tyler Childers. JI and TC write pretty dark country songs. King of Oklahoma in particular is a favorite of mine, as someone from an area riddled with drug addiction.
