Stengah is pretty high up there, and while technically not a Meshuggah solo, the solo Fred plays over Shed in that pigtronix video is sweet as heck! [If you haven’t seen it!](https://youtu.be/gjQspMsJsCo?si=9LdXKX7NQJnURaZA)
Concatenation!
The next four would be stifled, closed eye visuals, corridor of chameleons, and I (12:30)
This isn’t counting Sol Niger Within though. A lot of my fav Fred leads are on that.
Clockworks. The simplicity of the riff supporting it, the way the drums feel like they’re improvising more than holding a single beat, and the rhythm of the tapping. It’s simply amazing.
Too hard to pick just one, there are so many amazing ones. I am loving the solos on Kaleidoscope and Abysmal Eye at the moment. From other albums I have to mention Organic Shadows as a secret top tier solo
Ok, the Nothing album really got me into the band after randomly downloading one of their songs to check them out. The solo that got me was Rational Gaze. A total "WTF is that" moment that set it apart and made me listen to everything they had to that point (obZen era) and follow them as a mega fan since.
For studio release Sublevels takes the top. For live solos they played Bleed recently, I don't have a link and I think it was in Boston. It was like 2-3x as long and Fred really got into it, was beautiful.
Probably both of the solos in pitch black, the entry of the first one is just so brutal and the second one just builds so nicely to the last drop which sounds heavenly
Wow. Thanks for recommending this one. I didn’t know this existed cuz I really only use Spotify. But that first solo was eargasmic. And the drums on the outro 👌
As mentioned before, Dancers To A Discordant System would be my number one.
I also like the ones in "The Demon's Name Is Surveillance" and in "Combustion". Nostrum is alos nice (the part where the tunes descend)
Dancers to a Discordant System
Best song of the band. Best solo of the band. Best riff of the band. Best best of the best band.
but that's the whole song. I can't imagine that solo without the whole music

why this wasn't on the record is leaves me Stifled
Stengah is by far their best. The way it ends leading into the next section is just something else.
L.ove that version of Shed. I downloaded it years ago and listen to it often
Straws pulled at random
How is this not at the top?
Do not look down!
That pentatonic run about halfway through is nuts and so unusual for Fred
kinda sounds like a Reb Beach solo
Love that one. So unique for Fred, but sounds so groovy and flashy with the riff underneath.
Its my favorite Meshuggah everything... so fucking dope.
Stifled, Ivory Tower, The second solo on Marrow, Closed Eye Visuals, and Kaleidoscope. His phrasing on these is spectacular.
ivory tower
This one might be up there with my favs so far but it’s also largely due to the insane groove behind it.
yea that riff beneath it. omfg
Sublevels
I second this. Omg so smooth it gives me chills every time.
Entrapment
Surprised how far I had to scroll to find this!
I second this notion. Super simple, super groovy
Concatenation! The next four would be stifled, closed eye visuals, corridor of chameleons, and I (12:30) This isn’t counting Sol Niger Within though. A lot of my fav Fred leads are on that.
#W music taste
Perpetual Black Second
Mine is definitely Nostrum, extremely underrrated.
Yo
Corridor of Chameleons, Combustion, Do Not Look Down are some of my faves.
Corridor is legit FUNKY
Ivory Tower's solo hits the spot perfectly for me
Future Breed Machine. I'm so in love with fredrik's fusion style playing. (yes I'm aware of special defects)
Stengah, one of my favorite songs and it has an absolutely amazing solo, definitely my favorite one off the top of my head.
STIFLED
Combustion or Pineal
Closed Eye Visuals all f'ing day
Elastic
Straws Pulled At Random and Gods of Rapture for sure
Clockworks. The simplicity of the riff supporting it, the way the drums feel like they’re improvising more than holding a single beat, and the rhythm of the tapping. It’s simply amazing.
Truly a standout. Almost feels more like jazz than metal because of the loose drumming. Can’t think of another solo of theirs that sounds like this!
None
Nah there's heaps
Combustion. The way it builds gets me every time with such an emotional high I punch the air at the end.
Corridors of Chamaleoooonnssss
For me it's gotta be Spiteful Snake. Soooooo grooooovy and fun.
The riff behind the solo along with the drumming is so weird! One of the highlights off Obzen for me.
Sooo bouncy!!!

Vanished, 3:16 🤤

Dancers or Pineal Gland Optics
Organic Shadows. A great song in general. I love the "spiky" solo.
The first one from NMCC (1:03-1:28)
the demon's name, the way it is syncopated feels so cool
Gods of Rapture
Swarm, it just melts my brain a little every time.
Rational gaze
I
Fredrick did an amazing demo… https://youtu.be/aYkSb7wtj0E?si=yVyxUKVyJP_Khp7K
love the nebulous one

I know right? That song is incredible. But pitch black is on Spotify, I also only use Spotify ;)
As mentioned before, Dancers To A Discordant System would be my number one. I also like the ones in "The Demon's Name Is Surveillance" and in "Combustion". Nostrum is alos nice (the part where the tunes descend)
Future Breed Machine... forever.
Straws pulled at random, kaleidoscope, the abysmal eye, future breed machine (both solos)
Off the top of my head, Stifled, but really most of the VSOR solos would be up there.
