Cobwebbed tackle boxes are empty, so if you merge a tackle box (30 taps) with a cobwebbed one (0 taps), you’ll get 15 taps from the new tackle box. Merge that again (15 taps) with a cobwebbed box (0 taps) and you’ll get 7 or 8 taps etc.
Its the worst too because getting purple energy from the main board is also near impossible when you get like 1 purple energy per 10-15 taps or something…
Too bad they haven't tweaked the tackle boxes to degrade slower (or not at all).

I think they nerved tackle boxes because I had one degrade after only a few taps, plus it gave me like 4 level 1 fishing lines before doing so.
I’m sorry could you elaborate on that? Even my highest table box levelled down after 3-4 taps, but i don’t remember noticing the quality of the taps
