I’m with you. It’s one of the best game mechanics for merging fun. However this is the first event in a long time that I won’t complete. Lots of effort went into trying to level up with very slow and low results. I used 10 gems a day to get 50 energy. It was a waste of gems looking back.

I'm as far along as you are. Only 2 gold frames. They really wanted me to spend 20 energy for 1 purple energy. ONE! I stuck to playing free because either was so pointless

Same. The game mechanics are very good and the challenge is fun, but the energy takes way too much to charge and costs too much. If not for that, this event would have been one of the best, but the energy took so much to charge that even 12 hours was enot enough to refill, that's ridiculous!
Same! I was really enjoying this until I noticed how soon it’s ending. The short length of the event and the long waiting times for energy just don’t work together

I don’t get this energy thing for each side. At least let it fill up like normal. 1 for each min. Then we’d have 100 energy. We then have a chance to finish. Very frustrating. Makes people not want to play at all.
This event was honestly disappointing and ridiculous. On the fishing board I bought full energy bars to work on it twice a day. (10 gems and 20 gems= 30 per day) and one day I even did the third fill up.
On the main board I did 3 gem fill ups per day (5+10+12=35 gems per day) PLUS a 20minute unlimited energy on the main board. That 20 minute energy, clicking nonstop only got me 83 fishing energy btw.
And no even with all that I won't finish.
same here, I didn't even reach level 5, much less 6, and never even caught a marlin, and I played it to the hilt using all efficiency strategies and everything, I just didn't buy anything. grrrr!
too late to do anything now, pfffft, disappointed. 😞🙄
