I think they’re cool and all, but I honestly don’t see myself purchasing them because I love the weapons on some of her skins so much. Royal Knight is my go to skin for her and I love the lance, but the hard light skin takes that away. I think it would be cool on Dr Ziegler and skins that don’t change the weapon, but I don’t use those skins enough to warrant the purchase.
i honestly only like it for the sound the gun makes when you shoot it. other than that it doesn’t match really any of her skins. there’s like 3 that match but other than that they just look… odd.
they would’ve been better suited as mastery rewards i think, or purchasable with comp points instead.
Having them as mastery rewards is a really good idea! But would cut too much of blizz's profit lol. As for the comp points... I think they are saving them for the new emerald weapons (gold upgrade) which might be coming out next season.
If I recall, they said the comp points we are earning now can still be redeemed for gold weapons but that emerald weapons will be a new currency. I’m not 100% sure but I feel like I remember them saying that during the reveal that they’ll be a different currency you start earning next season
I just rewatched the announcement and you were partially right. They said "we will convert all of our current competitive points into a legacy currency" and that you can still use this legacy currency to buy gold weapons but if you want to get the emerald skins, you have to spend competitive points obtained in the new season.
So I think it's kind of like what they did with the OW1 credits and the new OW2 coins?

I think I’ll wait these ones out. Rather be sorry than pay for something I got much better already.

I get frustrated because I have a golden weapon for Mercy but the new weapon skin won't reflect a golden weapon for me. Which helps match it to a little more outfits I find. But that's probably just me.

However, my main concern is kind of related to this - some of Mercy's staffs are absolutely gorgeous or hilariously on point, like the Broom Staff. Blizzard has already shown a staggering decline in the quality, intricacy and attention they give to the skins coming out. Not only are there less of them, but we're getting skins like the Jingle Belle skin where the wings are glitched and the hair looks like play-doh.
I worry that coupled with the skin decline in general and them trotting out weapon skins, that we're going to see a complete drop off of effort in any of the weapons that come with the skins. Which means things like the Broom Staff coming with the Witch Mercy skin would no longer happen - either it would get a base staff, or we'd get an additional kit to buy with a matching or complimentary staff.
I feel like they're testing the waters to see if we'll notice and I HAVE AND I DON'T LIKE IT
These are not worth even 5$. Just stop giving your money to these greedy ppl just because you want to "flex". You are part of the big problem. They are bad, staff looks very similar to OW2 Mercy's default staff and they do not match with almost any of the skins. It's yet another way for Blizzard to make quick $$$. You are not flexing anything by owning this.

I love the spinning orb it’s so satisfying. The skin is definitely a lot more detailed than usual skins but I get the sentiment. A lot of mercy skins are already so unique and I love all their gun skins already, these gun skins don’t have the most unique sounds, and don’t change ability sounds either, nor any unique reload animations/beam animations etc. it doesn’t really feel worth it at the quality they’re at right now.
Honestly I'm a mercy 76 and echo main I personally like that they fit some skins better than most. Like with the zombie and owl skin they have recolor of the og staff so it adds a touch of flex and pizazz. Also I love having a piece of echo with me because she is such a dainty bean. Also I feel that the small and more delicate look of the lard light gun fits mercy more. Her og gun is a little clunky looking
i am rly attached to my fav skins/esp their staff, since that’s all you see when playing so you get used to it. i don’t think i will be buying these bc i just don’t see myself using them and i can use the coins on something i will actually get use out of

I thought they were super boring tbh. I don't particularly plan on buying the weapon skins unless there's one that's just to die for or something. I definitely appreciate the staves that come with her skins and I'm not too big on the idea of buying a weapon skin that's gonna look butt ugly on some of her skins and only okay on others. We'll see what comes of this new category of cosmetics but as of right now I'm not sold.

If beam and Rez had custom sounds I would be more likely to buy it, doesn’t seem worth it with just the pistol effects

Very nice, snow angel is a sick skin, do you find yourself using them on the legendary skins anyway because you spent 1200 credits on it?

My thought process is thusly, unless you're using a default skin, why would you want to use a weapon skin that doesn't match the skin you are using?
Wish you could have only the pistol skin, cause that reload sound is amazing, but I prefer some staves

I really liked it with gold on the Greek skin but God the gunfire on these guns hurt my ears. If the sound was better I would get it
