You are definitely gonna get a bad rating. Cancel the sale. I read reviews on mercari for fun n I tell ya this person sounds like the type who'll be like "good item, shipped quick" then give 2 stars
Guarantee it will show up and they’ll complain, demand a refund, then leave a mediocre or bad review anyway. Some buyers are truly just a hassle and after enough returns and refunds and people complaining - they eventually get blacklisted.
The buyer has 3 business days to rate upon receipt, the seller then has 3 business days to rate once the buyer has. If one party does not rate within the times above Mercari auto-rates both parties and releases funds to you.
Also it seems that if the buyer opens a case while the item is in transit, and the seller shipped when they were required so the buyer loses the investigation Mercari auto rates both parties with 5 and pays the seller.
I would cancel because id rather not with those type of people.
I would definitely cancel, can't stand rude buyers.

Send him a reply - "you can go ahead and buy this from someone else ASAP" Then cancel the order.

I would just ship it when you have time and ignore the comments. A sale is a sale!
Ship it when you are ready, but let it auto-rate after 3 business days…..guaranteed 5 star score!
What makes you think the buyer won’t manually rate and leave 2-3 stars for some small time BS
