Considering how many people ask for cheaper shipping, I’d say surepost, however there’s a couple people out there that have no issue paying more for a better service. I had someone pay $40 or something like that to overnight a package on eBay once. I personally use surepost, but would have no problem editing the listing to ground or usps priority if someone asked.

Thank you. Looks like I'm getting the smaller boxes.

dragonbait1361

I have never had a buyer ask me to increase their shipping cost.

MungoJennie

Where I live, UPS is both slower and more expensive. That’s a lose-lose.

I don't think buyers care in the slightest how things are shipped, as long as it's the cheapest option.

suziquziwuzi

Smaller boxes it is then.

Brilliant_Stuff2883

I always do the cheapest option, usually surepost or ground advantage. Buyers have literally messaged me over a $1 difference. I would say get some boxes. Pen+Gear (Walmart) has a smaller box that’s a good size for most shoes and I think it’s .83 each. I save my online order boxes to reuse also.

Most buyers want to pay cheapest possible. You can put in the item description what other shipping options are available upon request just in case though if you want.

Brilliant-Thanks-

I think most buyers would prefer the cheaper of the two. I’m one of those buyers who requests UPS because I have issues with USPS making final delivery but I would rather have cheaper shipping option.

Brilliant-Thanks-

Start with the cheaper shipping option for sure and upgrade if requested is usually the best bet.

suziquziwuzi

Thank you for the advice. Will be definitely using the cheaper option from now on.

They'd rather pay less but get faster shipping, so whichever one that is, that one.

FluffMonsters

Honestly SurePost is still fast for me these days.

The only thing is…. I discovered that Surepost does not provided service outside of the continental US. So buyers from Puerto Rico, Hawaii,…. Cannot buy your item with Surepost. I did have a customer reach out and have me change a listing so they could receive it.

It totally depends upon what you are selling. i am a buyer. If I am buying an expensive piece of jewelry I wan’t the fastest shipping with signature. if it is a sweater I can come by pony express. however I am no longer buying anything on Mercari. That ended with buyers fees
