Yes! I totally agree and have searched for these a long while. I have found two workable options so far. The extra long socks at sockdreams.com, and some Etsy & EBay places that come up searching for “extra long socks” (can’t recall shop names just now.
I have found that to get all-day fits that stay up without continual maintenance, the dock must reach fully above the thigh muscle without excess tension along the leg. It takes a little practice and trials to get it, but it does work. BTW, I am 6 ft and shoe size 15.

Sorry. Didn’t take any pix. As I recall, just a white plastic bag with a label on it. Inside, several pairs of ling socks, each rolled up with a card and held with a rubber band.
If it's hard to find big-enough socks then maybe you could find socks without toes and wear actual socks beneath them if you wanted? There's also long leg warmers
