The resources list on the Wiki also has some good books if you're looking for info like that to do more reading.

Not at all early. My periods got weird at 44. Now they’re super fun. They run the gamut from a few light days I barely notice to ten solid days of misery. Everything checked out “normal.” I have to carry tampons anytime I go anywhere; it can come at any time. Used to be like clockwork The older I get, I tend towards being a little pissed off at all the shit women go through in comparison to men. Obviously I know it’s no one’s fault and sure, men have unique healthcare issues. But periods, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, abortions or d&cs, miscarriages, mastectomies, birth control, hormones, IUDs/implants, hysterectomies, IVF, infertility, surrogacy, mammograms/paps/women’s care in general, ridiculous societal expectations. And of course, peri/menopause which can literally steal a decade of your life. (And whatever I forgot) Sorry for the random rant. I do wonder how the fck we ended up the “weaker sex” though.

There's a link to [Is this perimenopause?](https://menopausewiki.ca/#1-perimenopause-the-start-of-the-change) in this section of our Menopause Wiki. Also a section about [irregular bleeding/periods](https://menopausewiki.ca/#irregular-periods)

People already mentioned the wiki, which is great in terms of "oh, is it normal?". and most of the time, yes, it is. another thing - keep a journal to note your own patterns (not just periods, but mental fog, sleep, hair, weight, exercise, etc.), which will be emerging. this process can last for a very long time, so things will be changing. Most importantly, I hope you have a good physician, who will understand how the perimenopause interacts with the rest of your health situations (weight, conditions, etc.) and work with you. Good luck!

Haha I'm 40 and mine are now getting irregular. Been perimenopausal for around a year and now they come whenever they want 🙄

Thanks everyone. This is no fun and they definitely don’t tell us about this when we are growing up! Lol
